Thanks man! I'm extremely happy with the sound. I'm saving up for some long tubes next. It still has the factory manifolds and they've starting to leak. I'm hoping the headers will give it a more aggressive sound yet.
What type of Cam did you use? Did you have to Change the piston firing order? I have a 2017 Ford F150 5.0 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4, and I want to add a Comp Cam and a performance Milling oil pump.
@@mickeycook569 As far as I know, you don't "need" to change the oil pump for the melling, although on the 5.4L triton engines it is recommended, cam upgrade or not, because the OEM oil pump is known to starve the top end of oil. Not sure about the 5.0L engines if it's also recommended.
Thanks! I did have to get it dyno tuned to also open the cam solenoids to run wide open since I got the phasers locked out. As far as the valve springs, I did not have to replace them with the thumpr cams I got, although you can get new springs if desired.
Do you have to get the bigger oil pump if I were to go with these cams? And do you have a parts list of everything you got? I know I'm a little late to the video but any help would be appreciated also nice rig it sounds awesome👍
No worries! The oil pump isn't required, but it's recommended because the OEM oil pumps have been known to not supply enough oil pressure to the top end of the engine and would cause excess wear. The OEM cams in mine showed some definite wear marks on the lobes, so I definitely wanted to put the higher capacity oil pump in. As for the parts, I just have the small wedge blocks that go in the phasers, new timing chain, chain guides and the oil pump. (Plus other small things like a Dyno tune, new plugs, exhaust work etc.) Hope this helps!
