Drew Mitchell Highlights (Rare footage)

Drew Mitchell made his international debut for the Wallabies against South Africa in 2005, his Test bow following a whirlwind first year at Super Rugby level. Representing Queensland Reds, Mitchell notched 11 tries during the season and was rewarded by being named as Australia's Rookie of the Year.
His international career would stall following Australia's autumn tour of the northern hemisphere in 2005, and he would not feature again for the Wallabies until Wales' visit in the summer of 2007. By this time Mitchell had switched to the newly-formed Western Force Super 14 franchise, and impressed sufficiently to win a place in the Australia squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. The tournament was a disappointment for the Wallabies, who were upset by an unfancied England side in the quarter-finals. However, for Mitchell, it had been a hugely positive experience, with the then 23-year-old racking up a staggering seven tries in just five appearances. It was a tally only bettered by Bryan Habana.
After re-establishing himself on the international stage, Mitchell's domestic future in the game again came under scrutiny when he was courted by the New South Wales Waratahs and Brumbies ahead of the 2010 Super 14. Mitchell eventually settled on a move to Sydney with the Waratahs, taking the place of Sam Norton-Knight who had signed a deal abroad. He scored nine tries in his debut season with the Tahs, including four in one game.
Mitchell continued to excel in the Test Arena, too, and he dotted in each of the Wallabies' opening two fixtures in the 2010 Tri-Nations. However, he blotted his copybook by getting himself sent off for two bookable offences in Australia's defeat by the All Blacks in Melbourne at the end of July.
Mitchell retained his place in the starting line-up however and enjoyed a productive spring tour, scoring against New Zealand in Hong Kong and Italy in Florence before bagging a hat-trick in a 59-16 win over France in Paris.
The winger appeared on course for a successful 2011 for the Wallabies and Waratahs as he began the new Super Rugby season well. But disaster struck against the Reds in late April when he dislocated his right ankle, ruling him out of the remainder of the season and all but ending his World Cup hopes.
However, Mitchell made a quicker than expected recovery and forced his way back into the Australian reckoning for the World Cup. And Mitchell's remarkable recovery was completed when he was named in Robbie Deans' 30-man squad for the World Cup.
But Mitchell only played in three matches for the Wallabies as injury once again reared its head when he was playing against Russia with the knock ruling him out for the rest of the World Cup.
He struggled to regain fitness in time for the start of the 2012 Super Rugby but found himself back in the Wallabies mix for the 2012 Rugby Championship.
