- Max and I, along with his friend Logan, and my buddy Tom Starcevich fish the Coho Cabin Fever Tournament put on by thesouthend.org and the Hoosier Coho Club of Indiana. It was a fantastic day as we finished 4th (and in the money) out of 27 boats. The coho fishing was slow but we managed to fish outside the pack and get on some really quality fish. Special thanks to everyone that fished the tournament, thesouthend.org, the Hoosier Coho Club www.hoosiercoh..., and Slez's Bait Shop.

Good job Gentlemen!!!
Thanks, W!!
Well done!! Makes me want to try the tourney thing.
This one is really low key and cheap to do. Plus its also really low pressure. Everyone has a great time! Thanks, Dan.
Congratulations
Thanks, Steve, for the support!
Congrats guys! Nice video. One thing that makes my life easier when handling these slippery, keeper fish is to go to Harbor Freight and get 8"(I think) carabiners. They're not expensive....8 bucks, I think. Before I lift the slippery fish out of the net, I smoothly insert the carabiner up the gills and out the mouth. The big carabiner makes a handle that is an easy and secure way to handle keeper fish. The end of the carabiner that you insert through the gills is square so I take a file and taper the end so it slides through the fish easier. Have a great season. Thanks
Thanks, Scott!!
Congratulations on placing in the tournament. As usual your video was fun to watch.
Thanks for the support as always, Jim!
I do most of my fishing out of portage in burns ditch. big flatheads come out of lake michigan.
nice job on the tournament. I fish the MCATS rournaments.
We have caught a few channels while perching but no flatheads. That’s very cool. Thanks for watching!

Nice work, guys! We were out 2 weeks ago and my Uncle and I limited out quickly out of South Haven. The size of the coho definitely seems up this season. I see you got your Church boards all switched over to the new releases. How are you liking that so far?
Thanks, Zach! Wish I would have done these upgrades last year. Working out perfect for us.
@@BigLakeLittleBoat , what’s funny is we are rigging our Church boards to release on the front to get the coho straight behind the boat. I always like watching the different ways people we do things. Good luck the rest of the season!
@@zacheno2125 yep! Its been about 50/50 on who likes the release and who likes to take off the boards.
Great job guys! just wondering what baits do you run on the divers
We only ran a diver for just a little bit when we took out the downrigger. Didn’t get a bump on that or the rigger. I believe Max ran a spoon in it.
Great video!! We fish mostly in northern lake huron or superior with crystal clear water - should we run the Fins a bit further from our boards maybe to avoid any spooky fish? How far do you typically run your thinfins behind your boards? Thanks for the great content!
On some of the first videos of the year we talk about lengths behind boards. My outsides are 120, then 85, then 60 and then 45 towards the boat. Thats how we do it. Many just do 40 on all of them.
@@BigLakeLittleBoat Will check out the other vids for sure. We typically run 50-75 in clear water but was curious if longer leads might be worth trying as well when the bite is slow / finnicky. Much appreciated!!! :)
@@pbjadventuresnorth i think so.
Wanna ask a few questions about trolling...your content really helps us new trollers and i appreciate it. What speed are you running if just long lining thin fins?
I do have a couple shots of my depth sounder throughout the video that will show you the speed but normally this time of year with straight thin fish I run 2.8 to 3.0.
@@BigLakeLittleBoat if I'm launching out of the Horseshoe what is the best route to fish for me just running thin fins?
@@ramzeyhaddad3822 anywhere in the calumet harbor area or North of the East Chicago breakwall.
Congrats
Thanks, Jim!
