CPDLC-DCL on Honeywell Equipped Aircraft | Honeywell Aerospace

This video contains a description of CPDLC Datalink Clearances on Honeywell Aircraft.
As part of the next-gen airspace system, the FAA is using datalink technology to improve the efficiency of communication between pilots and air traffic controllers. The implementation of DCL is the first phase of this initiative. In the future, you'll be able to request and receive ATC clearances in flight using FANS. CPDLC stands for controller pilot datalink communication. DCL stands for departure clearance in the US. DCL uses the FANS datalink network to provide IFR clearances on the ground. DCL is similar to PDC however DCL over FANS has a few added features that make receiving IFR clearances quicker and more efficient. In this video, we'll cover the differences between DCL over FANS vs PDC and DCL at non-US airports.
