WOW! What a memory rush - Le Chic & Le Chic Part Two, Marios & Shades all in Nottingham UK late 70's into the early '80s My personal Disco era Gay teenager on lifes love, lust & dance thresholds of early manhood. What happened to me - I got old Oh Dear. Not too old to remember good quality disco music like this though. Thanks for the upload truly appreciate it.
I remember all those clubs in Nottingham and had many a good night at all of them. DJ Tom at Shades used to play fierce music but looked so bored behind the decks, though was a nice chap! Found some old flyers from the Part 2 days which are up on Facebook. Ross of Pt2 was one of the original divas of the disco haze!
My best friend Ian went out with Ross for a while. He was a good guy but unfortunately didn't keep hold of Part Twos reigns hard enough and drugs got the better of the club and its reputation which was a great shame. I'm still waiting for Part 3. Watch this space cos if I ever win the Lotto that's where my millions will be spent. BTW Tom was the original DJ at La Chic before it closed and went to Mario's which then became Shades. Ahhh memories, what fantastic memories. What a "Love Attack" the 70s were for me. Take care folks Cheers CliveakaSpyda x
@@spydamusic Is the original Part Two building still there? They've been knocking down the Broadmarsh recently. And I've heard and seen photos of Ross living in Bali nowadays.
@@RobotJam1 Sorry I don't know as Ive not been to Nottingham for over 30 years as I lived in Bournemouth until recently. I know it was next to that big car park and I heard it was turned into offices a few years after Part Two closed. Nottingham gay scene never really took off after those clubs closed in the 80s. A big city like Nottingham deserves a mega huge gay club a bit like the new Nightingale was at Birmingham. I'm too much of an old git for clubs these days but I do miss them. Take care mate. Clive
@@spydamusic Notts gay scene had its moment in time and we were lucky to be there. I had many good nights at Shades & Part 2, the music was fantastic. So many funny stories to be told. All good fun.
@@RobotJam1 You're so right My best memory was of the night at Part Two when Divine made a PA that was a crazy night's madness. Ross was in his element and the place was packed way beyond fire regs but who cared it was the one and only Divine !
