- Two F/A-18C Hornets are send out on a mission to destroy an SA-11 SAM at the border of an undisclosed location. US expected minor resistance from dated Aircraft. Little did they know that Russia is currently undergoing trials on their very soil.

NOTE: -The Russian used in this movie is not accurate. It is from an intercept of a Su-27 north of Moscow. I couldn't find any usable radio comms from actual air combat that suited the footage, even by searching in Russian.
-I know that the R-73 does not give a Warning tone to the F/A-18 and that the aircraft does not have an IR Warning reciever. I did it for the atmosphere.

Proud and Pro- American here, and I actually like that the Hornets didn't automagically win here. This video is a good reminder that no one is safe when it comes to combat, regardless of hardware.
p.s.: great video - please make more (and "let" the US win sometimes, too!)

It’s a little funny when during a Su-27 attack, a Russian voice says: “It's clear here” and “I don’t observe targets.”
I understand that the author took random radio conversations, and they perfectly add atmosphere, cool! Just a little funny because the words are exactly the opposite of actions.)

Finally some realistic/fair combat scenario.
In every short film, movie or game its always the US who gets the credit, but this is real world where everything can happen. It depends not only on the aircraft but the pilot who flies it, the communication and objetive of the mission.
This one is very good but I don’t think the F-18 pilot would’ve not see the missile coming. The F-18 is the king of electronic warfare. Other than that great movie dude keep up the work

Great show! It makes Flanker drivers like me happy, ahaha. I personally have little problem fighting Hornets, but I have some friends that really struggle. I think the Su-27 is a really underrated aircraft. We are dangerous!

@@peterott8053 I won't need to. They are just bluster and no action. See what Israelis did to their aircraft and go check news last year when they crossed into a Syrian area where they were not supposed to be. It was a tragic seen. Russians backed out and conducted no retaliation because they know better.
@GO NAVY ok mister combat expert, I bet you experienced air combat first hand... Both are capable aircraft and I don't see what the point is with arguing which is better.

LOL...F-18 doing a turn after merging with afterburner on, that was why he get killed...ha ha ha...The main thing in dog fight is to make a tighter turn as possible so that you can get on your enemy 6 o'clock before he did...that means you need to lower your speed quickly and the first thing you could do is to watch out your throttle

I’ve noticed the US seldom lay wins in these, must be a Russian game and Flanker fanboys. Funny how the aerodynamics of the Flanker are so superior in all aspects yet, fail to illuminate their glaring low speed departure issues with the wing. Carry on...
