I never owned any Sega systems back in the day but man your channel has made me appreciate Sega & how good they were, that I had to go out & get myself a Genesis mini & I've heard so many good things about the Dreamcast & the list of great games it has that I would definetly try to get me a mini one too.
$100 is reasonable. I paid £100 for my first Dreamcast back in the day. I think Metropolis Street Racer and 18 wheeler would be a good addition as well as some of the more unknown titles like Sega Swirl and Toy Commander.
I still enjoy MSR. The Project Gotham Racing games on the XBox and 360 refined the gameplay but the original Dreamcast game had an atmosphere that was never quite replicated. I'd say it's unlikely to be on a DC Mini due to car and logo licensing issues but then again SegaLord X did mention Sega Rally 2, which also has licensed cars.
Nice list. I would have Headhunter in there as well. As these machines tend to come with bonus or unreleased games, they have a lot to choose from, like Propeller Arena, Half Life or Monkey Ball to name a few. They could even include one of the many fantastic homebrew games like Sturmwind or Under Defeat.
Honestly, while it probably makes sense to a lot of fans, I can't fathom doubling up on Sonic and Shenmue games on a mini console like this. I'd actually leave Sonic Adventure off, personally, but I understand its importance on the system, so it realistically has to be on a Dreamcast Mini. My "realistic" lineup for a Dreamcast Mini would look something like this: Capcom vs. SNK ChuChu Rocket Crazy Taxi (The mobile versions have the original music, I believe, so I think this is realistic.) Dynamite Cop Ecco the Dolphin Grandia II Ikaruga Illbleed (Easily one of the most underrated games on the system, and it's still Dreamcast-exclusive.) Jet Grind Radio Mars Matrix MDK2 Pen Pen TriIcelon (I don't care what anyone say. I love this game. It's a very interesting take on racing, and it's similar to Mario Kart 8 and Sonic Racing Transformed in terms of how races are structured.) Power Stone 2 Shenmue Skies of Arcadia Sonic Adventure SoulCalibur Space Channel 5 (Yes, I'd include this, even if the pre-rendered video used for the backgrounds would look like garbage.) Street Fighter Alpha 3 Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 If possible, I'd also include Seaman and The Typing of the Dead as hidden games. To unlock Seaman, you'd just have to have a USB microphone plugged in. To unlock The Typing of the Dead, you'd just have to have a USB keyboard plugged in.

Giga Wing 1 and 2 Guilty gear x Hydro Thunder Jet Grind Radio Macross M3 Outtrigger Phanatasy star Online Project Justice Psychic Force 2012 Ready 2 Rumble boxing Tech Romancer The Last Blade 2 Time Stalkers While I want mini consoles I rarely believe they are worth more than $50
Hi Sega Lord X! I've been watching your videos from some time. Great content you have here in your channel and great food for thought for us gamers. Back in the day, I was a rabid Nintendo fanboy and was truly uneducated about the great games on Sega consoles. While I have to give thumbs up to all Sega consoles out there for their own merits, my favorite among them has to be the Dreamcast. I also agree with you that we have to be realistic about the games that would come with a potential Dreamcast mini. But that doesn't mean the omission of some games won't leave me scratching my head. I would miss Sega GT, Metropolis Street Racer, Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament among others. As you say, getting the licenses would be a nightmare and nigh-impossible to get, but still, I'd love to have them there. Daytona USA isn't exactly the port we wanted, but I'll take anyways, because it's better than nothing and it's my all-time favorite arcade game. Greetings from Itagui, Colombia and keep your great content! Edit: I subscribed to your channel by the time I finished editing this post.
@@joseanrodriguez2005 Cool, but my parents needed to use the money on other things, like food or bills, i live in Brazil and here in 1999 a Dreamcast was priced more than 8X the minimum wage.
I loved Record of Lodoss War but man it was broken af. I remember having some kind of sword I gave double crit bonuses to and then finding a cave full of giant sand worms who I could one shot with my OP sword and getting a full level up every single kill for the longest time.
Nice list. Personally I would have included my guilty pleasure, Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage, but you know how these things go. Can't please everyone.
This list is so perfect, it just amazes me how ludicrously high quality the Dreamcast's library was in proportion to its lifespan. And also, I personally would be willing to drop 129~149 USD for a machine with the game library you listed. Heck, it'd be worth it for Cannon Spike alone, which goes for upward of $200 on the second hand market, and I couldn't say no to a system with Skies of Arcadia built in
A fantastic list of games that I had almost all of. I personally still have my Dreamcast in storage and I would buy a Mini if it came out. I would add NBA Showtime, Virtua Tennis 2, Blue Stinger, Jetset Radio, Space Channel 5, Star Wars Jedi power battles, Slave Zero, and house of the dead this list.
some great games that are key dreamcast experiences but crazy taxi, sonic adventures, shenmue jet set radio, soul calibur etc already being available for me to play on my xbox would make a dreamcast mini system a tough sell for me reading other comments there are lots of dreamcast games available outside the system huh. hopefully this would mean a Saturn mini would be more worthwhile
I realize it probably wouldn't happen due to the additional peripherals needed, but gosh, I'd love an opportunity to see what all the hubbub for Seaman is about.
Sega fans: Release a DC mini! *Next console generation* Sega: Sega Genesis mega blaster ultra collection, with the same freaking games of previous releases... Fack man... Edit: And of course, no Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Shenmue 1 and 2 is definately a must have on the dreamcast mini it pushed the system to it's absolute limit and they should also have powerstone, blue stinger, resident evil 2 3 and code veronica among many others.
They only should include RE:CV because it was originally meant to be a Dreamcast exclusive, much like RE 4 was meant to be exclusively released for the Gamecube. RE2 AND re3 wouldn't fit well on the DC mini especially for the fact that there are so many better choices to put on there like Project Justice, Toy Commander, Sonic Adventure, Sega Rally 2, Shenmue, Powerstone 2, Sega Marine Fishing, Test Drive-Le Mans, Rayman 2, and many others.
Jet Set Radio, Virtua Tennis and Toy Commander would all need to be there... that said I've just spent a fair bit getting my actual DC up to scratch with a DCHDMI, new fan, and region free BIOS so I don't think I'd be in the market for a Mini at the moment.
If a Sega Super CD/HD console was built it would revive sales for older Dreamcast, Sega CD, and Saturn games from different regions because the machine would need to be built with region free encoding as a built in feature. The year is almost 2020, it's time to get it in gear SEGA.
Dreamcast was the last game with focus in Arcade games, I know that Dreamcast received Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, but the Dreamcast Mission, was a Impossible Mission.
The prospect of a Dreamcast or Saturn mini make me extremely excited. I just hope that at the end of this fiscal year when all is said and done, and Sega reveals its earnings report, I hope they say that the Genesis mini sold very well, because thats the only way that a DC mini will happen. If you want a DC mini then you have to support the Genesis mini.
@@SegaLordX Damn I actually paid $80 for it, not $50. Either way, I dont mind supporting Sega so money is the least of my worries. Im disapointed that it might've been a bust as you mentioned.
If Sega ever made a Saturn mini I could see the following games being included. Sega games: All Panzer Dragoon games Nights into Dreams Burning Rangers Sonic Jam Sonic R Sonic 3D Blast Daytona USA (both versions) Astal Virtua Fighter remix Virtua Fighter 2 Virtua Cop 1 and 2 (if they make a gun to support them too) Last Bronx Fighters Megamix Clockwork Knight 1 and 2 Shinobi Legions Gale Racer Outrun Space Harrier Fantasy Zone Phantasy Star collection (hopefully with an english translation too) Games that should be on but probably won't for typical reasons. I'm also not including crossover titles with Marvel or any title with characters licensed from other companies or licensed sports titles since that would be too much legal work for Sega and the makers of those games. Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2 Street Fighter Zero 3 Street Fighter collection Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampires Cotton 2 Cotton Boomerang Radiant Silvergun Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Mortal Kombat trilogy Guardian Heroes Princess Crown Astra Superstars Megaman 8 Megaman X4 Those are just some but everyone feel free to add on but remember to leave out games with stuff licensed from other companies. I would like to see X-Men/Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and other titles on the mini but like I said before that would be too much legal work for Sega and other makers of those licensed games.
I wonder how Sega will make the controller for the Dreamcast Mini. It's gonna be weird seeing this blank space where the VMU used to be. I also wonder if it'll have built-in rumble or not.
This would be my list. 1. Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Adventure 2 3. Shenmue 4. Shernmue 2 5. Skies of Arcadia 6. Jet Set Radio 7. Virtua Fighter 3tb 8. House of the Dead 2 9. Confidential Mission 10. Zombie Revenge 11. 18 Wheeler 12. Crazy Taxi 13. Crazy Taxi 2 14. Sports Jam 15. Daytona USA 2001 16. Outrigger 17. Virtual-On 2 18. Dynamite Cop 19. Fighting Vipers 2 20. REZ I would name more but this would be my 20.
How much would I pay? If it has Sakura Wars 3 and 4 with English translation a lot... if it has 1-4 (and maybe an English port of Hana-gumi Taisen Columns 2) they can write their own ticket.
Why it won’t happen in my opinion; size of the games, would mean the DC mini would be the largest capacity Retro console yet (Shenmue alone was 3 GD-Roms). And secondly, the controller; it’s large, and would need a complete redesign to close off the VMU and Rumble ports (since game saves would be stored internally). I just don’t see a Dreamcast mini happening any time soon, if ever.
The controller is a sticking point, certainly, but game size is a complete non-issue these days. We have several hundred gigabyte micro SD cards on the consumer level for dirt cheap.
Very nice list overall. I just missed Ferrari F355 Challenge, Cosmic Smash, Mars Matrix and maybe Garou MotW. They are all as perfect as an arcade conversion can be. As a bonus gift they should include Monkey Ball arcade since it's just a Naomi arcade game, so a Dreamcast game by definition. Wait where is Jet Grind Radio lol.
I'd get one for sure, but I don't think enough people had one growing up to ever be as successful as the MD mini. I quite like to see Sega launch a piece of hardware with an online marketplace - like an arcade for your living room, where you could play/own a variety of titles from arcade, and all of Sega's past home systems - and why not other companies like SNK too? You could play multiplayer and invite others to play. You could just 'put a coin' in, or own the game. This would have a much broader appeal, and you could get quite a lot of hype for re-releasing games like Panzer Saga, Radiant Silvergun, Grandia etc.
Please can someone tell me of what game the song from 0:16 to 1:20 , i know this music, but i can't remember from what the game it is, and it drives me crazy !!!!!
Nice list! Excellent call on Power Stone. I probably would've taken out some of the shooters and Sega Rally, and I'd add in Space Channel 5, Illbleed, Chu Chu Rocket, Ooga Booga, Pen Pen Tricelon, and Super Magnetic Neo. More variety in the genres there! And if you're not familiar with those games, you should check them out. Some of them are hidden gems on the DC, or at the least, they're cool novelties with few peers even today.
I would love a Dreamcast mini despite owning most of the games mentioned. My question is; how would the controller hold up in today's gaming landscape?
The controller was always a weak link. Horrendous d pad and face buttons that were harder than a viagra testing lab. A solitary analogue stick was a huuuuge mistake too. The awesome triggers and vmu feature couldn't redeem it imo
@@eponymous7910 agreed. Maybe having an option to use other USB controllers would circumvent this... But I'd still love to relive the experience of caring for my Chao on the VMU 👍🏿 one can but dream...

Not that I don’t eventually want a DCMini, but the Saturn was the one major console I missed out on growing up and I’m dying for a mini version so I can experience it without spending a fortune on actual hardware (I have no PC, so emulation on that platform is not an option for me😣)
Awesome selection! Great episode SLX!
Chu Chu Rocket
Destruction Derby
Tony Hawk 2
Jet set radio
House of the dead
Hydro Thunder
Solid list man. Think I gotta get me a Dreamcast some day.
Wtf at that SF Third Strike footage at 5:27, "the mark of my dignity shall scar -me- "!!
LOL
A translated version of Segagaga would make for an awesome bonus game
A retro store built into a Saturn & Dreamcast mini would be so awesome!
I'd pay.
Giga Wing 2, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, and Virtua Fighter 3 tb.
Have you heard the news? Sega is going to announce the release of some retro-hardware, I'll bet that it is going to be a Dreamcast mini!!
MSR? best racing games on the system by far
Was at the time. It's aged horrendously, not in looks but in gameplay, its feels boring as hell now & it pains me to say to it.
Jet grind, House of the dead 2, Sega bass fishing, Power stone 2, Seaman just to name a few you missed.
I definitely want to see Hydro Thunder, Power Stone 2, Gundam Side Story 0079 and Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast Mini.
Belated congrats on 40K 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you. Appreciate that. :)
My "realistic" lineup for a Dreamcast Mini would look something like this:
Capcom vs. SNK
ChuChu Rocket
Crazy Taxi (The mobile versions have the original music, I believe, so I think this is realistic.)
Dynamite Cop
Ecco the Dolphin
Grandia II
Ikaruga
Illbleed (Easily one of the most underrated games on the system, and it's still Dreamcast-exclusive.)
Jet Grind Radio
Mars Matrix
MDK2
Pen Pen TriIcelon (I don't care what anyone say. I love this game. It's a very interesting take on racing, and it's similar to Mario Kart 8 and Sonic Racing Transformed in terms of how races are structured.)
Power Stone 2
Shenmue
Skies of Arcadia
Sonic Adventure
SoulCalibur
Space Channel 5 (Yes, I'd include this, even if the pre-rendered video used for the backgrounds would look like garbage.)
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2
If possible, I'd also include Seaman and The Typing of the Dead as hidden games. To unlock Seaman, you'd just have to have a USB microphone plugged in. To unlock The Typing of the Dead, you'd just have to have a USB keyboard plugged in.
Adding Illbleed would be cool, one of the few games on the Dreamcast, I have yet to play...
Want to buy my copy? LOL
Model 1+2 mini 🔥
Project Justice needs to be there.
There's no other ports of that game available anywhere else.
Exactly. There's a reason its the most valuable Dreamcast game on the used market.
Definitely.
I know some may get complicated in the Licensing but I feel these are worth it.
Giga Wing 1 and 2
Guilty gear x
Hydro Thunder
Jet Grind Radio
Macross M3
Outtrigger
Phanatasy star Online
Project Justice
Psychic Force 2012
Ready 2 Rumble boxing
Tech Romancer
The Last Blade 2
Time Stalkers
While I want mini consoles I rarely believe they are worth more than $50
Moandain Designs tech romancer is one of my favorite games of all time
Finally someone showing some love for Macross!
Oooh cant wait to watch this!!
A Dreamcast mini would be the first mini-console I’d give a sh*t about, an essential purchase!
Jet grind radio was pretty good and I think Sega would add space channel 5 whether we like it or not lol. Good video X
There is going to be a dreamcast mini?
Did you watch the video?
I love this channel, but admittedly that title is a bit click-baity :)
Sega said no Dreamcast mini because they said “you had a chance to buy it in 1999.”
lol, i was 5 in 1999, had no chance to buy one...
I wrote them back and asked,"swap my 32x for one, straight up?"
@@kevinak3944 my kid is 3 and he already has xbox one and switch you parent sucks oh and ipad mini 4
@@joseanrodriguez2005 Cool, but my parents needed to use the money on other things, like food or bills, i live in Brazil and here in 1999 a Dreamcast was priced more than 8X the minimum wage.
@@kevinak3944 in that case, you country suck lol
Great choices, I would include Gigawing 2, Mars Matrix, Under Defeat, Zero Gunner 2 and Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service
I would pay 150 easy! For a dreamcast mini but I would love if Record of Lodoss War was on there and MDK2
I loved Record of Lodoss War but man it was broken af. I remember having some kind of sword I gave double crit bonuses to and then finding a cave full of giant sand worms who I could one shot with my OP sword and getting a full level up every single kill for the longest time.
SegaGAGA English translation would be a great addition
Nice list. Personally I would have included my guilty pleasure, Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage, but you know how these things go. Can't please everyone.
draconus, dragon riders, illbleed, evolution and project justice. Those games are exclusives and really underrated. wish I could play them again
im pre ordering it if it happens SEGA!
Some great picks. I would love to see a Dreamcast mini especially if it means preserving some of these older titles that are stuck on the system.
This list needs some more Toy Commander
Great list, missing perhaps Phantasy Star Online with multiplayer ;) Oh and F355 Challenge plus MSR for the driving game fans.
I'd love F355 Challenge but I don't see Sega paying anew for the Ferrari license just for a mini console.
No jet grind radio?
This list is so perfect, it just amazes me how ludicrously high quality the Dreamcast's library was in proportion to its lifespan.
And also, I personally would be willing to drop 129~149 USD for a machine with the game library you listed. Heck, it'd be worth it for Cannon Spike alone, which goes for upward of $200 on the second hand market, and I couldn't say no to a system with Skies of Arcadia built in
Only played Cannon Spike Once and loved it!
holy shit, what is the song at 1:08? glorious
A fantastic list of games that I had almost all of. I personally still have my Dreamcast in storage and I would buy a Mini if it came out. I would add NBA Showtime, Virtua Tennis 2, Blue Stinger, Jetset Radio, Space Channel 5, Star Wars Jedi power battles, Slave Zero, and house of the dead this list.
some great games that are key dreamcast experiences but crazy taxi, sonic adventures, shenmue jet set radio, soul calibur etc already being available for me to play on my xbox would make a dreamcast mini system a tough sell for me
reading other comments there are lots of dreamcast games available outside the system huh.
hopefully this would mean a Saturn mini would be more worthwhile
I realize it probably wouldn't happen due to the additional peripherals needed, but gosh, I'd love an opportunity to see what all the hubbub for Seaman is about.
Sega fans: Release a DC mini!
*Next console generation*
Sega: Sega Genesis mega blaster ultra collection, with the same freaking games of previous releases...
Fack man...
Edit: And of course, no Sonic 3 & Knuckles
I hope they don't skip the Saturn. How great would it be if we could have Symphony of the Night, Mega Man X4 and Mega Man 8.
Good. I was hoping to see Zombie Revenge among your selections.
Zero Gunner 2 is my favorite Shooter on DC. The Mini has to have Bass Fishing for sure with the Fishing rod. I would spend 150€ for that package.
At $50 right now, there is no way it sold to Sega's expectations. I have a feeling the Genesis Mini was a bust.
@@SegaLordX Damn I actually paid $80 for it, not $50. Either way, I dont mind supporting Sega so money is the least of my worries. Im disapointed that it might've been a bust as you mentioned.
If Sega ever made a Saturn mini I could see the following games being included.
Sega games:
All Panzer Dragoon games
Nights into Dreams
Burning Rangers
Sonic Jam
Sonic R
Sonic 3D Blast
Daytona USA (both versions)
Astal
Virtua Fighter remix
Virtua Fighter 2
Virtua Cop 1 and 2 (if they make a gun to support them too)
Last Bronx
Fighters Megamix
Clockwork Knight 1 and 2
Shinobi Legions
Gale Racer
Outrun
Space Harrier
Fantasy Zone
Phantasy Star collection (hopefully with an english translation too)
Games that should be on but probably won't for typical reasons. I'm also not including crossover titles with Marvel or any title with characters licensed from other companies or licensed sports titles since that would be too much legal work for Sega and the makers of those games.
Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2
Street Fighter Zero 3
Street Fighter collection
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge
Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampires
Cotton 2
Cotton Boomerang
Radiant Silvergun
Mortal Kombat 3
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat trilogy
Guardian Heroes
Princess Crown
Astra Superstars
Megaman 8
Megaman X4
Those are just some but everyone feel free to add on but remember to leave out games with stuff licensed from other companies. I would like to see X-Men/Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and other titles on the mini but like I said before that would be too much legal work for Sega and other makers of those licensed games.
no saturn bomberman you dont know
Where's Blue Stinger at?
I'd rather have Code Veronica.
Record of Lodoss War. The best Dreamcast RPG that nobody played. Honorable mention goes to EGG and Silver.
hey what was the deal with that kick from akuma taking all of ibuki’s health? lol how did that happen?
No Space Channel 5 and Jet Set Radio?
I wonder how Sega will make the controller for the Dreamcast Mini. It's gonna be weird seeing this blank space where the VMU used to be. I also wonder if it'll have built-in rumble or not.
I'm sure the VMU would simply be built in. One of the reasons why it'll be expensive.
This would be my list.
1. Sonic Adventure
2. Sonic Adventure 2
3. Shenmue
4. Shernmue 2
5. Skies of Arcadia
6. Jet Set Radio
7. Virtua Fighter 3tb
8. House of the Dead 2
9. Confidential Mission
10. Zombie Revenge
11. 18 Wheeler
12. Crazy Taxi
13. Crazy Taxi 2
14. Sports Jam
15. Daytona USA 2001
16. Outrigger
17. Virtual-On 2
18. Dynamite Cop
19. Fighting Vipers 2
20. REZ
I would name more but this would be my 20.
I'm so glad you brought up BorderDown. It's a frustratingly under-talked about game and one of the gems of the DC. Its soundtrack is great too.
How much would I pay? If it has Sakura Wars 3 and 4 with English translation a lot... if it has 1-4 (and maybe an English port of Hana-gumi Taisen Columns 2) they can write their own ticket.
Came in to suggest Zombie Revenge and Dynamite Cop. Well done. 🦄🦄🦄
wheres jet set radio.?
It wouldn't make my top 20 for a device like this.
I love Shenmue and all but how are you gonna fit a 3 disk game on a small piece of hardware? Or am I that old fashioned?
Times have changed its easy now
Why it won’t happen in my opinion; size of the games, would mean the DC mini would be the largest capacity Retro console yet (Shenmue alone was 3 GD-Roms).
Little Jack's Theme from Skies of Arcadia
You saved my day, Skies of Arcadia is my favorite JRPG of all time :)
Erm can someone explain what happened here 5:27. Im presuming it this clip is from a cheat???? I always struggled against Gill.
Check description.
@@MrSerpico145thank you
If it came with those games I’d buy it immediately, I also loved the Quake game that came out on the DC
What happened to the Saturn mini? :'(
Whaaaat???!!! A Dreamcast Mini... YES! Please SEGA!
Would the controller have a some kind of VMU and vibration built in?
It would almost have to.
@@SegaLordX It would be really awesome if the could make an updated one with better graphics, but with the ability to back to original with options.
Propeller Arena was complete and never received an official release. I think it would be a great addition
Looks very nice, Dreamcast deserves it.
@@mini-momentsmedia1293 Yeah, games like VO:OT are best played with 2 analog sticks, allowing USB controllers would help immensely.
I'm worried about disc rot on my dreamcast games collection 😢
rip them to iso and install a gdemu
Keep them on a dry place....i need to check my too😬
