I was fitted for the Ping G430 driver and I am similar don't like the turbulators, not mad on the overall looks but that was irrelevant once i put it in play. It is absolutely fantastic for distance, forgiveness and confidence off the tee wow it is a total no brainer for any level of amateur golfer..... I have achieved some of my longest carries in recent weeks and its defo in the bag permanently. BTW I put it up against the Cobra Aerojet, Taylormade Stealth 2 etc in fitting and the 430 max easily came out best
Just was fit by our Ping fitter at the range. He fit me into the Max and I loved it. Loved the sound. Loved how solid it felt. Longer than my very old driver, I withhold the brand name to protect the innocent (dated trusty shorter shafted driver with smaller head), and easier to hit it pure. I could try other drivers. But there is an old saying in windsurfing that comes to mind here, another old passion of mine, "Never leave wind to find wind!" I'll order the Max.
I was playing a Titleist Tsi3 with a VA nemesis 75 gram shaft that I was fitted with. I hit it long, 290-310 but it was hard to control most days. I just wanted to get something that was forgiving knowing the spin was gonna be higher. My coach fit me for the 430 max with the chrome tour 65gram and it didn’t matter how crappy of a swing I put on it, the dispersion was tight, spin was about 2400, more consistent with a distance about 20 yards less but at least I’m playing the same fairway. Love it!
All Ping drivers do is hit fairways. I gamed the G425 Max for two years and it changed my game. I never hit as far as my buddies but they'd be in the rough or sometimes the woods and I'd be on the fairway. I just got fit for the G430 and opted for the LST because I was getting 3mph more ball speed and still a pretty tight dispersion. But the Max was also another amazing entry for Ping.
Yes I agree with you. I went with the G430 LST because of the different drivers and shaft Combinations I tried this one had a very tight dispersion. My last few Drivers were Callaway but I am glad I went for an actual fitting this time
I just bought a G430 max in reg flex this morning! It was a though choice between reg and stiff flex, but for me, the reg was just a little more fun to hit than the stiff. Strike sound is awesome as well. Simply an amazing driver IMO; can’t wait to get it out on the course!
Absolutely brilliant pull on the Alex Etches comments James. Didn't know you had it in you! Truly beautiful! I can hear Alex laughing when he watches this video.
I had a Driver Fitting Last Week and Of all the ones I tried I did go with the Ping G430. It is what fit me best. I did try the max but because of my analysis the fitter said I fit best for the G430 LST. Just picked it up last night and cannot wait to go out and hit it
What I have found is to find a stable driver head that allows you to swing as fast as you can with control. I fight a toe hook, and Ping G & PXG XF drivers have a wider face that helps my toe shots retain more spin and keep the ball from diving and dropping to the left. Funny thing is I just saw Ian from TXG switch to the G430 for a lot of the same reasons. Lighter driver heads will look great on launch monitors and simulators but stable heads will keep a lot of players in play and not out of bounds…
I really do enjoy the daily video. I rely on watching it everyone morning. Great job putting out so much content James! Are you and Chris going to rematch The Muppets this year?
James, I bought a Callaway XR speed after seeing you use it in Dubai (?). Today, after leaving the driving range, I went to our local golf shop and tried out the G430 Max and the Paradym in a simulator. Honestly there was nothing in it between these drivers and my XR (Bought new for au $288). No way I will be spending a thousand dollars when I did not see any improvement. Oh and my handicap is 22. Cheers
I was fitted for the 425 SFT. But if I was to get fitted again I think the Max would be the winner! I’m not going to the tour so I’d go forgiveness over distance.
Gamed the G410 Max for a bit and loved it. Then changed to a Callaway Rogue ST Max LS, and used that for the last year. I followed advise from you and many others and went in for a full driver fitting. Will admit that the 2 final drivers that survived at the end was the Ping G430 Max and TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus and ended up getting the Stealth 2 just based on overall numbers. I am one that didn't really like the overall look of the Ping drivers, I did like the sound and feel of the new Ping but we all know looks, sound and feel are a personal preference from one person to anotherr.
Personally don’t see any real distance or forgiveness differences, I tested both and went with the LST just because with them being same in performance I just preferred look of the LST. Have to say it’s best driver for me that I have ever hit and I absolutely love it. Can’t see it going out of the bag for a long time
I tried out the 430 when I got fitted last month. Actually hit the 425 LST better and got fit into that. Sounds a bit jarring at first, but can't argue with results
I've officially played both Ping G430 and Callaway Paradym. And I have to say James, I think you've overlooked the standard Paradym. That standard Paradym is an absolutely fantastic driver to hit and the best part, it's adjustable to fade or draw bias (mine went tiny bit draw bias to simply straighten my drive up). I have tested both of these drivers, and the Paradym was an average 8 yards longer and simply the same dispersion, spin rate a little lower than the Ping and just overall better. I'd recommend going back to test these 2 drivers head to head. I want to see if my theory is right. Cause right now, I'm so close to buying to Paradym.
What works for you will not necessarily return the same results for him. There are too many variables to take into account when you introduce a new person with a totally different swing.
@@bigdrews366 It depends on what you need. Personally for me, I don't hit my Driver far which leaves me much more distance on second shots so I want distance and forgiveness but I need both. So I'd go Paradym. But if you can't hit fairways and don't really care for the extra 10 yards into the green, go G430.
Bought and tried the G425 max took it back traded for the Cobra LTD X max which I love…hated the turbulators terrible look couldn’t ever get lined up right…
James, a Very Merry Christmas to you and yours…I bought the Ping G425 Max, but gave it back for the Taylormade Sim II Max and have regretted it ever since…I am saving my pennies for the Ping G430 Max, so since it’s Christmas, if you’re giving one away, think of me across the pond
I love the look of the G430 driver from Ping and I could easily game one, as for which one I would choose I would go with what was best in the fitting. I would like to see a video of all the forgiving drivers from all the brands to see which one comes out on top for you
1. Guess I’m in the minority in that I like the sound of my G425. 2. Guess I’m also in the minority in that I prefer the looks of the new G430 Max without the carbon. 3. With all your connections in the industry, can’t we get you a stand bag?🤣 Nice review as always!👍🏻
I was so hyped up to try this out last week at my fitting turned out it was the worst of the 3 drivers i tried. TSR2 was the winner in ball speed, sound/feel and smash factor. 2nd place was Callaway Paradym. This G430max had better sound/feel than Paradym but not as good as TSR2. Custom ordered TSR2 on the spot w Hzdrs Red CB 6.0 50g shaft.
Well I usually agree with you but I don’t like the wrap on the LST I like the clean look of the max because I don’t like a lot going on, on the top of my driver

I'm assuming your love of the LST design is due to your TM enjoyment. I'm not that bothered about that separation line. Prefer the look of the Max. Cheers James
first video ever that says the max is better than the LST. I own the LST. and i am hitting bombs if i have the confidence in my swing to release it fully and give it somewhat of a square clubface. Everything about the LST is designed to give you more distance by lowering spinrate by a titanium clubhead with a carbon top. It's not getting any better than this. To claim that the MAX is better anyway i think is just preference here and if true would make PING look kinda stupid to charge more for a less performing club. In the end it comes down to what you are capable of and what you want. I think i will take the MAX fairwaywoods to retain the spinrate and have green stoppage ability, but the LST for absolute dynamite rockets off the tee.

I am a mid Handicap player and in my Driver fitting, I actually hit the New Callaway the worst of all I tried. I did try the Cobra, the Ping and Callaway. I was registering too much spin for me and ball flight wasn't ideal.

I am a mid Handicap player and in my Driver fitting, I actually hit the New Callaway the worst of all I tried. I did try the Cobra, the Ping and Callaway. I was registering too much spin for me and ball flight wasn't ideal.
It probably is. I had a few swings with it and man, it felt so good off the face. Keep in mind, it was a fitting so I was fit to it but it was my first swings ever with it and I carried about 18 yards longer on average than my current driver and it's dispersion rate is amazing I found
