Triosonata means that the composer wrote 3 parts (2 treble parts for e.g. 2 violins, and 1 bass part (the thorough bass a.k.a. basso continuo)). The bass part can be played on a variety of instruments, usually a cello or viola da gamba and harpsichord (which is entrusted with providing a full harmonic realization of the basso continuo part) Often the cello and harpsychord are doubled by a lute or baroque guitar.
