People keep bringing up ratings just confuses me. Sure Stew had a rough time during the finals but it the third match against Vatality it was Stew who broke their econ with the 3k and help them push to 11 rounds. Was probably the most important round for G2. Not to mention Stew had the highest trade percentage and supported Niko and enable the team in many ways.
I think both sides of the Stew performance argument are being a bit reductionist and willfully ignoring some things that aren't in their favor. If you actually watch the games, his aim is shockingly bad at close range and he's losing some absolute freebies from unexpected angles. On the other hand, it says a lot about the decision making and positioning that he's in those situations so much in the first place, and you have to give the guy some slack with mechanics when he's coming back after a 2+ year hiatus. The other thing obviously is that at every choke point Stewie is the first one in, drawing shots and getting immediately traded (you can say G2 always call for him to entry since his aim is worse, but still). That's a successful entry right there, but it only makes a tiny difference in KAST and doesn't really show up on the stats. 2 things can be true at the same time (Stewie's aim was objectively pretty bad, and also he was actually impactful).
map one he was rocking the 0.6, but map 2 and 3 I'm pretty sure he had around 1.1 for both, also people be acting like Zywoo himself didn't end map 3 with a 0.6 rating 💀
@@TheClarinetBro I agree. His aim was real was horrible in map one. I think it's normal since this isn't the same as when he was on stage before. I watched a few of his stream between his matches on G2 and felt like his aim was horrendous compared to when he was streaming. It's possible that the pressure of knowing that this was his final opportunity to perform on stage got to him.

I respect the tone and energy of this video, but there's a major part of it that was left out. G2 almost lost the first map, and it took double overtime for them to get a win over vitality, when Vitality had four chances to close it out. Which only further adds to the amazing part of the G2 storyline. Having been there to see it live personally, I can tell you that it was absolutely amazing to see G2 rally in that first map to get the series going.
which means that they won because vitality choked lmao. If they hadn't been chokemasters then they would have closed it out 2-0. And you can't expect g2 to perform at any level without a crowd buff.
Never a fan of Stew, but I watched the match live specially on Nuke and he had my respect. He came back to pro play after a long time, and he was really clocked in to learn all the smoke line-up for outside. I still remembered the crowd was cheering for him when he successfully landed those smoke even though the timing was off a little bit between smokes. Can't really blame him, but also can't discredit him for that also.
I have never watched a cs tournament, but i randomly tuned into this one and just got glued to the screen. I understood i was witnessing something special.

Stewie had some really clutch rounds, good on him! I don't know if we'll ever see him get back to the same level he used to be, but he certainly proved he could be a valuable part of a winning roster. His comms honestly impressed me the most, he sounds way more mature. Another point, I was happy to hear that Hooxi was still involved with the team through the tournament. He was providing feedback post match and was present for their practices. I think he's earned his place on a tier 1 org and I hope he doesn't feel left out on this one, especially when you compare his rating to Stewie's. If you’re still suffering from the hallucination of NA CS somehow being “back” or being “good,” allow me further to bring you back to reality with this: North America has only ever won A SINGLE MAJOR. As an ENTIRE REGION. IN 2018. Yes, Stewie *was* involved in that, too, but that’s beside the point. Compare NA’s SINGULAR Major win to Europe’s dozen or so. Yeah. Not even close.
