  • Hello Everybody,
For this quarter, a lot of people who loved my previous videos have asked me to show them the skills of the great master artisans (very few people alive) and even older but they’re still trying day by day to pass on traditional values to the next generations.
    #japanesewoodworking #chest #furniture
To thank and honor them, we decided to create a series of video shows about them and their work from the footage available from my friends and myself.
Everything has been redone. I have edited the script, rewrote the content, new effects work, new music, new footage added and a new creation is created as follows: "Japan’s Best Chest of Drawers Furniture with Highest Level Techniques Required"
Today, this video will probably be more appealing because of the appearance of These cabinetmakers (KIRI TANSU) Master Craftsmen who has done a lot of furniture making in japan

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

Absolutely love watching the Japanese masters at their trade. This Gentleman sure is a Master. And great to see him passing his great knowledge and great skills down to the younger generation.
I would love to visit Japan. The Japanese are the most respectful, courtious and polite people on earth IMHO.

This Canadian says this is wonderful craftmanship but I fear these will be lost skills if they are not protected by allowing future generations the oportunity to learn. Teaching these time honoured trades to any and all newcomers is the only hope for their survival. What's more is that teaching these long honoured skills also connects the future generations to the past and their legacies which is something that we need more than ever in our modern world

    Dear Sir/Madam,
These are absolutely delightful pieces of furniture that truly furnishes a home. It's sad that this wonderful craft is fast disappearing from over 350 to just 9 families left. How long will it be before it's extinct? I sincerely hope some dedicated souls will endeavour to do their utmost best to preserve what is truly unique cultural heritage to Japan. Kind regards.

Very likely - by pushing in another drawer. They are almost airtight which makes it possible to get the other drawer out with the air pressure itself.
There is a couple of other videos about Japanese fine furniture makers showing that.

The world does need more master craftsmanship in all things. Things made to last, that after one life time can be past onto the next generation, even banged up they can be refinished to new. But most people don't want to apprentice for peanuts so the craft of make good solid furniture is becoming lost to the achives.
