The final doctor that testified sure knocked that smile off her face! I think she thought she could really fool them, but even the first doctor hired by the defense said she’s faking!!

Given her utter lack of remorse it's clear that even long after she came down from being on meth, she just doesn't care. It would be "normal" to once having sobered up, be HORRIFIED to the point of not wanting to live, if you found out you'd done what she did.

Yes, credit where it's due, her lawyer Christopher Froelich had an unenviable job to do, defending the indefensible! But such defenders are an essential part of any civilised and fair legal justice system. Respect to him.
He also deserves great credit for sitting next to that freak every day, so calm and professional, knowing not only the depraved violent acts she inflicted on her victim, but also that she physically assaulted her last lawyer without any provocation whatsoever. He deserved additional danger money!

Then watch when defense put forward a valid argument he moves his head and purses his lips etc. I bet none of them are hard to read in a poker match. This case was handled very well in court, lead by a truly professional, patient and fair judge. However, not sure about the defense who ignored the witness statement and evidence, that this horrific crime was premeditated and somewhat organised. It seems that the defendant has control of her behaviour. She didn’t grin on the last day in court. Additionally, Dr Lytton who spoke as a witness appeared to be biased and exhibited quite a theatrical attitude considering this was a real court and not a movie scene, while the two other Drs were to the point, precise and serious. The verdict is no surprise.

That in itself shows that she knew what she had done was wrong. All of the mental health comments from the defense’s mental health worker…her behavior in her cell. That was defendant paving a road for herself to appear to have mental illness or damage. I’m glad the jury didn’t find her to be credible and used their jury instruction to come to a decision. After watching some of her interviews with police and her behaviour while on trial one of the most disturbing aspects of this is the fact that many here think she's not insane. You think her behaviour is that of a rational person. Little wonder then that the US has daily death and brutality on the news when so many of you think it is normal and that she isn't a cold-blooded psychopath.

    • @rh1annaW1ndsor

Drug use made her crazy, but she's not insane. There is a difference. She was never diagnosed with ANY mental illnesses actually (ie which would allude to some insanity at the time of the crime). Meth played a huge role in this, and sorry but drug induced psychosis makes you fully responsible for your heinous actions.
And usually, when one is granted guilty by reason of insanity, typically the crime is committed due to PARANOIA / when one genuinely (yet irrationally) felt their life was in danger. We don't see that! That is an extremely rare occurance. Taylor fully knew what she was doing. To the point she was able to dismember and hide body parts, AND hide the weapon. That's not insanity.

That’s because she’s not insane. Being declared not guilty by reason of insanity means the person lacked the mens rea (guilty mind) and could not distinguish right from wrong when committing the crime. Psychopath is not a clinical diagnosis, the closest would be someone who has antisocial personality disorder, but they are not “insane” in legal terms because they fully understand right from wrong. They just don’t care. She’s not “normal” (because she definitely has a personality disorder at minimum) but she’s not insane either.

This case is so bizarre. The most bizarre thing, however, is how distracted I am with the defendants facial expressions and grimacing. I can’t imagine how the jurors are focusing on testimony. I have the luxury of rewinding the video if I’ve found that I missed something. The jury cannot. I don’t know yet how they will rule but I hope that the victim and his family get justice.
Prayers to his soul and to his family and friends.
Also.. I feel like her fathers testimony was skewed; he seemed very defensive until he seemed to realize that his daughters attorney was working in her best interested.
At one point (before his testimony became more palatable) he was battling with the defense counsel. Then he apologized and said he was sorry that there was so much going on and continued to answer the questions more favorably to his daughter’s defense. I was surprised that they allowed dialogue when he was being taken out of the court room. That poor boys mother couldn’t say I love you or goodbye to her son. Why was this woman allowed to have a quick back and forth with her family? I guess it’s here nor there. It’s been done already. I do wonder why the father is incarcerated.
    Great coverage Law&Crime. Thank you!

The most shocking was to hear she was married and had a baby not long before this murder.
