'It was so fast and it only cost me £2.40' OMG The London Underground must make half of it's revenue from Tourists making that 40 second mistake of a journey
Mastcheck M, is it the "Is there a reason you've stopped? - It's a lovely view!" that you didn't understand? At times, on some lines, trains suddenly stop in between stations for a few seconds or minutes. This is because of logistics reasons but passengers are never announced why, so many of them might think their train has stopped for no reason. For instance, you might find yourself travelling on the District Line, most of which runs not underground but at ground level, and your train suddenly stops. From the train windows you'll be seeing houses' back gardens, parks, roads, church spires and plenty of greenery. Some of these views can be lovely to stare at. You could find yourself wondering "why has this train suddenly stopped in the middle of Turnham Green? Has the train driver stopped so that he and all of us on board can enjoy this view here?"
__Technologic__ Jubilee goes to Canary Wharf. You always see the financial types going to and from work on the Jubliee. And on the Map its Grey line. The sleazy Grey suit banker character was perfect! lol
That has to be greatest but most subtle reference in the whole video. "I went from covent garden to Leicester Square and it only cost me £2.40". I. Am. Dead. xD Anyone who isn't a big tube line user wouldn't get this hahahah
Last time I watched this I then went to my copy of the Tube map, and had a great laugh when I saw how close those two stations are. It would be like here in Toronto, a tourist paying the $3.25 cash fare to go from Dundas Station to Queen Station, when they could just walk through the Eaton Centre - our big downtown mall - in about 7 minutes or so, depending on how crowded it was.
In Washington DC it would be like paying $2.00 to ride from Gallery Place - Chinatown to Metro Center. It’s such a short distance on the Red Line that you can see trains bound for Shady grove at GP - C station from the Glenmont platforms at MC
Depends on the time of day. It can be a normal station in the right conditions but yes better to plan it as exit only and then walk back to Leicester Square. @thelonesculler
Each of the lines is perfectly encapsulated here, The sleezeball Jubilee, two-faced Northern and the one who actually does all the real work Metropolitan in particular.
The Victoria one is quite accurate, "are you guys hot". The Victoria line is underground most of the day and the depot is the only time and the trains go above ground land the frequency of the Vicky line is demonstrated by how fast she was talking.
I'm imagining the Elizabeth Line in this as a trans woman, somewhat nervous about being there, and profusely thanking the others for not referring to her by her old name of TFL Rail. Meanwhile Victoria Line, seemingly oblivious to all this, says "I didn't know she used to be called that," because she never had any connections with TFL Rail. Plus, there would be one heartwarming bit where Elizabeth says "But I'm not a real Tube line like you..." since she runs to a timetabled schedule whereas the other lines don't, but then the others form a happy supportive circle around her and are like "Yes, you are! You're one of us now," because let's face it, London commuters were always going to think of it as another part of the Tube.
Oh, I just thought, there would be another bit where she has to correct Piccadilly on her pronunciation of a certain word when Piccadilly says "I've heard you're really into _Reading._ Whats your favourite book?"
Please do a part two with Thameslink, trams, til rail, and the Elizabeth line (I know they're the same but I think they'll have different personalities 😂)
+The Tube Kid Banks-Frias I know all that, but I think they'll be interesting to include? And I know it's originally crossrail but they're not going to rechange the name so...
If people are wondering about the metropolitan, circle and Hammersmith thing, it's because they run basically the exact same route for quite a while before branching off from one another.
The people want - nay, need - a part two now! With national rail and the elizabeth line. You also forgot the Emirates airline, but it's okay, so did everybody else
For those wondering why there is no Waterloo & City Line, this was actually flimed on a Sunday. The Waterloo & City Line doesn't run on a Sunday lol. So it all makes sense
Northern line is schizo, so kind of. I just miss the part where Circle, while having the image of the social butterfly, is embarrassed to spend every night watching TV with her mom, District.
I drove Bakerloo, Hammer and Circle. This is very amusing. About the door that fell of the central line, that shot down the platform and didn't kill anyone, causing the central line shut-down, well, BCV did tell them that they needed two brackets on auto, not the one.
The DLR does break down. I was on a train once when the points failed. Ever walked through the Woolwich foot tunnel at night? I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Depends on how you define most - most (alright maybe 40%) of the circle is on that section, 35% of the H&C. The Metropolitan though goes a long way beyond the shared section with many services seeing the H&C/circle at Baker Streer before turning and running back north away from them. 😅
My family got a game this Christmas called "mind the gap". It's sort of like Uno, only using London Underground lines. And I cannot get this sketch out of my head 🤣
*Elizabeth line:* Well hello everyone! So happy to be here! [does a royal wave] *Central line:* Oh my god!!! TfL Rail? Have you had a makeover or what?!! *Elizabeth line:* I'm not late, am I? *Jubilee line:* Only by about four years. *Elizabeth line:* Good heavens! What have I missed? Oh, and I go by 'Elizabeth' now. *Northern line:* Well, I've just had the biggest promotion of my life. *District line:* And I've regenerated! *Northern line:* Not to brag or anything, but Battersea Power-- *Bakerloo line:* Never mind that. Elizabeth, tell us about your transition. *Elizabeth line:* Well, I've just had some rather expensive work done... down there, if you catch my drift! It's going to take a good year for me to get used to using it. Oh, and next year, I'd like to get more out of Reading. *District line:* Me too. I love books! *Victoria line:* Sorry, have we met? It's just that I'm not sure in fact I haven't slept since 2021 when I had to stop working due to lockdown and I am NEVER doing that again is anyone else hot in here? *Metropolitan line:* Loving the new look, Liz! Although, word to the wise, the purple is kinda _my_ thing. *Elizabeth line:* Darling, please! You are not purple. That is a dark maroon, at best. *Metropolitan line:* Rude. *Circle line:* Oh and like, wow. You are so tall! I think I might need a train to get from one end of you to the other. You know? Because you're so tall. In fact, I think I might need a... *Elizabeth line:* I know, right? Really, I'm so very different from the rest of you. I'm not even sure if I count as a Tube line at all. *Hammersmith & City line:* No, shut up. You are. *Thameslink:* Oh hey, if Elizabeth gets to be a Tube line, does that mean I get to be a-- *Everyone:* No!
I'm surprised and pleased that my interest for comedy managed to take all that beating from the music at the very beggining. Otherwise, well done girls!
Perfectly encapsulated all the lines feeling. Although the District has now had a bit of a facelift so is a little bit more qith it now (only a little bit mind).
The Waterloo and City line wasn't invited and yet the DLR is a freaking robot. And the Overground thinks the party is lame and is texting on her cell phone.
This video deserves to be on a permanent display at the London Transport Museum.
It's hilarious and spot on.
everyone forgets the poor old Waterloo and City line. :p
Maybe it was filmed on a Sunday
Maybe they had no toddlers in the cast...
+Kimon Froussios yeah it's old but that's like saying the northern city line hasnt been born yet
I'm guessing it would be a really, really short person...
W&C is the awkward guest who always come at a party to spend the entire time by itself walking up and down between the food and the drink tables without interacting with anyone. During this video W&C must have been in the toilet.
Victoria is pretty accurate. "Are you guys hot?" Even in winter you think "do I really need to wear a coat to work?"
Except Victoria is always warm because it is underground all the time apart from the depot and Northumberland Park
The depot IS Northumberland park
i agree i think the reason why she talks so fast because of how frequent the train service is
And because the trains accelerate/decelerate pretty damn fast
Well, they have to at that sort of frequency!
the one about metropolitan and district is one actual true fact, they never meet
Embankment
Northern, Bakerloo, Circle and District are the lines stopping at Embankment.
Sorry that was dumb (got lines mixed up, literally)
No worries. :) Just wanted to clear that up.
They did until the H&C and the East London line were separated from the Met in 1990.
DLR: Among the many areas in which I *excel*
PUNS ALL AROUND
oh yeah I didn't get that one lol
Custom House for ExCel and Elizabeth line
'It was so fast and it only cost me £2.40'
OMG
The London Underground must make half of it's revenue from Tourists making that 40 second mistake of a journey
What happens if I swipe in then strait back out again at the same station?
Too true! They're literally on the same road but the poor tourists think they've got themselves a bargain
+Bedsitdweller It will charge you the lowest fare in some zones or it won't let you out
Bedsitdweller it'll charge you max far as an incomplete journey. you can claim back a refund if you created an account on tfl website.
That's the whole point
So funny and so true:
"I have to! Have you ever had to get a Night Bus to Zone 9?"
...
"Is there a reason you've stopped?"
"It's a lovely view!"
I don't understand the second one );
Mastcheck M,
is it the "Is there a reason you've stopped? - It's a lovely view!" that you didn't understand?

Oh, Makes sense now xD
Met line is the most sensible in this video. Also irl
The Central Line is EXACTLY how I would imagine it to be if it were a person
glitch4465 bit too cockney though
+Donald Trump I thought it was supposed to be an Essex accent as the the Central line's destination is Epping on the Eastbound trains
I imagined her spending her time at the party whatsepping with her boyfriend Roy, because Roy slipped due to the cold weather
@@joshdean9105 The Central line also goes through Bethnal Green and Mile End which is the East End of London.
"Let's just say, I didn't mind her gap" ;-)
i think I know what it means but someone tell me
He banged her
kane lenthall cos the jubilee line has platform edge doors so you dont need to mind the gap
Well, the newer part of it does

Dont know what you're talking about.
he meant banging her
I didn't get the Central line one XD Mainly because I haven't been on it :/
Steven Tukel Oh I see now XD But I still don't get why Central and Jubilee were flirting with each other :/
That has to be greatest but most subtle reference in the whole video. "I went from covent garden to Leicester Square and it only cost me £2.40". I. Am. Dead. xD Anyone who isn't a big tube line user wouldn't get this hahahah

Depends on the time of day. It can be a normal station in the right conditions but yes better to plan it as exit only and then walk back to Leicester Square. @thelonesculler
District line is showed just perfectly! Especially in the last few seconds haha
True
especially the Never met him when you think about it
Each of the lines is perfectly encapsulated here,
The sleezeball Jubilee, two-faced Northern and the one who actually does all the real work Metropolitan in particular.
So many nerdy references. I love it!
District at the end had me in fits >.
Inaccurate, the Central Line woman should be sweating.
How this doesn't have more likes by now.
Why am I watching this? I live in suburban Ohio and I've never been to London.
I’m Illiterate take a visit to london my friend
Bro im from D.C and the underground runs faster than our Metro
For what it's worth, if you ever visit this video is spot on.
"You can't beat the classical theatre" *Thriller Live!*:D
slammersmith and pity
Fannysmith and Shitty. Summing up the H&C line

I think your depiction of the DLR is particularly special
2:39 The Jubilee and Central meet at BOND street! Hahahah!
And Stratford, hence why it's "casual".
The Waterloo/City line wasn't invited because everyone forgets the poor lil' fella. :(

It probably wasn't shot on Monday
QuarioQuario54321 but it probably wasn't shot on sunday
Because you don't know their hours.

The DLR had me howling.
Haha loved the Jubilee one. It's my home line :)

Mine Piccadilly. Hatton Cross.
Mine is Hammersmith and city. Latimer road
