    Loved the transparency here man. Been a fan for a while now and that honesty has kept me coming back. I'm a year older than you but I did the same thing. I got my degree, I'm glad I have it, but I don't know if I'll ever be satisfied with a "normal" job. I certainly don't have the UA-cam thing going for me but I manage in my own right and that's fine by me. If anyone scrolls by and reads this. Be content with the choices you make and always have a plan. We're under so much pressure to "make lots of money" but that's not the only way to live a life. Be comfortable being you and carve out your own place that betters yourself and others in society.

      Sho Aquedus I see myself being alive to give any form of reassurance and even guidance if I can. Existence in general is tough, especially in those college years where you're transcending your former young self with the you as a functioning member of society. All I can say is to throw yourself into your field and make sure you enjoy it. I won't say be sure you enjoy everything, but when times get tough focus on the exact portions that bring you a smile and make you feel alive. Jobs and money get us through life but if you aren't enjoying your time outside of that existence can be dreadful. Feel free to throw whatever you need to talk about at me and I'll give my two cents if you'd like me to. I'm always glad to further anothers happiness

      @@MidosujiSen been job hoping and found myself in a job that speaks to my generational understandings, manual labor outdoors. Its tough work but the field I'm currently in has a component of chemistry and intellectual intelligence to it. I believe I found something I can do for the long-term, that isn't all encompassing, that allows me time to delve into hobbies.
      Funnily enough I've hit a personal confidence within the past few days that makes me know I'll turn my hobbies into something transcendental for myself but more importantly at this point in my life, for others

    I went to college for years and I learned something important. It doesn't matter what you know, but who you know. You can have all the degrees you want but if you can't secure a job on just a resume alone, you're SOL. But if you know someone who can get your foot in the door, you're practically already inside. I also learned college isn't a guaranteed thing for jobs. I got a job faster from a two month CDL school than years of college. Believe me, Matt. Its tough out there but if you can make it happen with your education and career pursuits, it's all worth it.

    How would you even figure out what you want to do in life during high school when the only thing you have to worry about is not failing a class.
    I mean you could look up to someone and say "hey, that guys cool. I want to do that when I grow up!" This just makes everyone want to become a UA-camr or singer or entertainmer, or etc.
    The only way you'll truly see if you like something is to experience it first hand. Watching others who've already become successful leads you to start assuming aspects of the life they lead and if you could follow that ideal life as well.

      It's because you only have 1 worry that you can volunteer shadow attend summer programs etc just to see what you're interested in. That worry is even less of a factor if you learn the material and have some command over it. Personally back in hs I didn't know what I wanted to do but I got a good foundation and a sense for where I wanted to focus my education. The biggest thing I can recommend is don't get a bullshit degree and don't let partying and friends fail you out.

    Congrats Tekking! Getting your degree and being done with school is quite the accomplishment!
    Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to a lot of your experiences in school as someone who didn't know what to do with themselves for the longest time and didn't participate in clubs or socialize much. I'm currently taking some extra time to get my degree, and at times it's felt like an endless journey, especially because there's so many other things I'd prefer to focus on. But like you I know I'll feel incredibly satisfied and proud of myself when I finally receive it and am done with schooling.
    Hope the house hunting goes well! I'm excited to see what you'll do with your channel now that you're completely done with school.

Also make friends who sign, the most important thing to do when you start learning is to practice and expose yourself to as many signers are you can

    • @Roy-ml5fn
      @Roy-ml5fn 6 років тому +1

      Kisamefishfry nice job! I was wondering if you always wanted to go into computer science? In my senior year of high school I didn't know what to do so I just chose to major in CS because I knew the job outlook was growing in that area and they made above average money. But after my 1st semester I HATED it. Especially discrete math 😠 granted I had absolutely no experience with coding 😖 I did alright in my Intro to CS class. But I hated sitting behind a computer for hours trying to write code. I guess you have to be passionate about CS to be able to succeed in that major.

    • @Kisamefishfry
      @Kisamefishfry 6 років тому +1

      Well, it probably isn't too much of a surprise that it started as wanting to do Game Design. That had been my goal since I was 5. (like actually 5, I tried to design a game on paper and I sent it in to Nintendo) When I was a Freshman in high school I took my first programming course, I liked it a lot but it was still all about making games. I continued doing computer science until I got into College where I majored in Software Engineering. It's really similar to CS, but more focus on development cycles and managing. Over the four years I found my niche in the field which is lower-level CS. Stuff like operating systems, security, parallel processing etc. I was going to just go into industry after I graduated but after talking a lot with my girlfriend and getting stuck in a lot of personal projects I realized there was just more I wanted to learn in the field. I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do in CS (and I also do game design/analysis as a hobby) but my research is in GPU optimization, which I have a lot of fun with. So in short, not really. There are lots of different kinds of CS, some barely involves any programming at all. Your story is actually a pretty typical one, I TA in Minnesota currently and there are a lot of students that have very mixed feelings about CS in intro classes. Unfortunately sitting in front of a computer all day is pretty unavoidable lol. My lab actually does a lot of VR, so you move a good amount in testing that, but 90% of the time you are on a computer. My real drive in computer science is being able to do things. My motivation for going to graduate school, and even my major in general was always focused on how I can use what I learn to do what I want. After all, CS started for me because of game design. If you are still looking for a major, or a topic to study in general, I would suggest something that you actually see yourself doing on the side for fun. Typically it's the things you enjoy personally that you will make the most out of. And don't worry about money, if your good enough at almost anything you can make a living out of it. Cheers!

      Nefertari Well, not entirely. I study medicine at the Goethe Uni in Frankfurt and the semester fee is 366 Euro pro semester. Still though, nothing compared to the outrageous loans and fees over in the US.

    • @strenghsGirl
      @strenghsGirl 6 років тому

      That is true. Those are not the tuition fees, it´s an extra fee. We get a ticket for public transportation for a semester and also can use the regio train in our state for free. Back in 2011/12 Bavaria still had the tuition fee (500€, 620$) additional to the extra fees. I wanted to say that the tuition fees are no more and that you get something from the extra fees. But you are right, you need to pay a bit each semester. The good thing is that Germany has BAFÖG. :D

      How I envy you Germans lmao. I’m over here in New Jersey drowning in debt :D

    • @DevilDaz17
      @DevilDaz17 6 років тому

      Well, each country has it's own positives and negatives. For instance, if I fail an exam twice, I can no longer study medicine in Germany. Which could make years of hard work and learning pointless. Also, if I'm not mistaken, all the other citizens have to pay higher taxes compared to the US, in order to fund the Universtities. So think of it, that everyone has to pay for the College funds of others. Also, for the tuition fee I have to pay money for things I have no use for, such as public transportation. Money going down the drain... I'm not saying that the US has a better system than Germany, far from it actually. Was I'm saying is, that each system has it's own positives and negatives.

    UCF is at least 10k for a full time student a year, and that's without living on campus and in-state tuition

    Man everytime I hear that people had such a lax senior year with like 2 classes a day.. WTF I NEVER HAD THAT my 4 years was my like 7 classes every day just happening at different time with a rotation. No study hall, no leaving early, no choosing classes, none of that shit. Then I went to college and it sucked.. literally talked to no one and hated it. HS was probably my best years honestly. I was friends with everyone in a huge class. I was the one kid in the school who knew everyone and I had no problems. I gotta go back :/

    Yeah, I chose international businesd management as my major because it pays extremely well. But other than that I want to finish my bachelor in management and do dual masters in business and probably do a bachelor in economics and political science in case management doesnt work I can work on the other two.
