The nose is a god-send. I see a lot of artists insist on using a bunch of pink/red in noses in lieu of shading and characters end up looking like they have an extreme cold.
I'd really appreciate if you did a copic coloring tutorial of clothes, I really suck at it, and the main reason is that I have no idea of shadows and lightning. That is why I suck at coloring skin and hair too.
seriously lol i cant even read the explanations fast enough. it would have been a great tutorial if it was slowed down or even better if she talked through it instead.
Thank you so much for the help! I've been getting into using alcohol based markers but I've been struggling to figure out that "full" sense of shading that I admire in other art. This will be a huge help! I don't have those exact colors in COPICs but I think what I have is enough to follow along, and I'm super grateful that you offer your outline for practice. A lot of people only offer up their techniques (Which is fine! It's super kind of them) but it can be difficult to figure out how to apply it to my own style without really following them first, for that better understanding.
I want to thank you so much for this tutorial! I've just recently gotten a limited number of markers (7 of them if you include the blender lol) and when I searched how to color skin this popped up for me. I don't think my first coloring would've been half as good without this tutorial! Thank you so much! And keep up the amazing work!
Jadelyn Cho Dude Ohuhu is like $20 for 36 markers check them out. they are super good quality too! Studio 71 and Artist Loft are also good alternatives
I love lineart made with brown or red ink. I just think it looks so pleasing and it gives it a bit more 'pastel' vibe which I love and would like to include in nt style. I gotta get some!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been using Copic markers for coloration for years now but I still find small tips and tricks in your videos that help me get better :)
I just find you, amazing demonstration of skin colouring, I start using Copics, thank you so much for so great tutorial.Love the way you show "how to" I still learning and my work show strikes, been watching your video 100 times now ♡♡
mmm....so the difference, that i see from my digital drawing eyes, is that shading comes in first before the main color with mixtures of other colors comes into play. because sense there permanent, the shading has to come first. other wise it'll be hard to apply that on the top of the main color of her skin and hair and it won't look clean. i seen this a lot from other people that do speed copic drawings. very nice.....i hope i can get copics with a new sketch book soon. been drawing digital for a while. on my wacom tablet through firealpaca and on my 2DS through colors!3D. this was a great video!
this little tutorial helps a lot thanks u i'm nervous since i've never colored any of my work before & this gave me an idea of how to work with copic markers thank you
I'm so hype that you're using Copic Ciao. I just ordered some to try them out and I haven't really noticed many artists using them and I got worried xD I'm excited to try them out -u-
This is still the video I came back to if I want to freshen up my copic knowledge about skin! Coz there are just some days when I didn’t use copic for a month or so and I really need to relearn and recollect the techniques hahaha~
Thanks this helped me a lot, I was scared of using fruit pink because I thought it would look bad but now I understand that painting skin is a process ^-^
Your art is so amazinggggg! I just got my first copic set for Christmas, and your tutorial was really helpful. Your tips in the vids were really easy to understand ^^
This is so great! I'm so glad I found this series and your channel. Thanks for sharing your tips! I'm definitely trying out this technique with my Promarkers! :)
I've been a fan of your tutorials and speed-paintings. You are truly a great artist. ; w ; I just have a suggestion for your future copic tutorials; you could try making a tutorial where you can show your viewers on how to color darker shades of skin like brown and tan with copics. I'm starting to use copics now, and I just need a bit of help coloring with darker markers. Anyway, thanks for the video, and I hope you see my suggestion. ;w ;
thanks for this tutorial I was looking for a skin combination with markers that I already have this is perfect and this is great picture for practice !
ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO VERY MUCH. YOU ARE TALENTED.AND THAT'S SO COOL FOR YOU TO SHARE YOUR TECHNIQUES. CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH YOUR OTHER VIDEOS. THANKS AGAIN!
I'm a fan of ethnic skin tones and the skin tones in the video are beige, undertones for non-ethnic Caucasians and more towards Asian, Hispanic,, and some for African American shades-hard enough to find my specific shade - no different as to finding the right shade of make up X.X and expensive when getting it more then several shades wrong lol. I'd like to see a tutorial for Caucasian undertone colors and certainly other range of ethnic skin colors considering there is a mountain of range of natural skin colors in copic markers color pallet. Copic markers are a wet media and trick and fast pace natured.
+Bia Ferrarezi It looks very very good! :D maybe try to draw a little bit smoother so the edges are not that hard (like in soft and small circular movements :) I know with pencils it's a little bit difficult but just alsways practice! :D Thank you for showing me :)
Thank you for this video! I have to try combining markers with crayons. In my last video I used only markers and I really love how your drawing turned out!
if anyone wants teach any type of marker illustration, they gotta teach like this. one by one. lighter tone to darker tone. I remember my illustration teacher was a good illustrator but bad teacher. he just showed off his drawing and never taught anything
I already love the drawing without the colour but then at the end I was WOOOOOOW ❤❤☺️🤗❤❤ I am sure you dont read this but if you do could you tell me from where you buyed those copic makers and how much they cost
Amazing! Thank you so much. This is just what I needed for help and inspiration. This video is my first on your channel, it made me subscribe right away. You really do make this look so easy. Mine turned out fine for a practice piece but not as polished as yours. I look forward to the day I can make it look as lovely as you do! :D
The nose is a god-send. I see a lot of artists insist on using a bunch of pink/red in noses in lieu of shading and characters end up looking like they have an extreme cold.
true
Shady Character Art I usually do this for paler characters or cold scenes, but I don't go too overboard, unless the character is supposed to be sick
Sometimes it works for pale skin tones. It doesn't seem right (for me) if it's done while the base color is a pretty dark tone....
i always draw pink noses, it's bc of my style :p
I do mines for both dark and light skin tones because the blush doesn’t have to pink or rose
I have copics but... I suck so bad.
it's nothing compared to this.. 😞
Rachel Chan UR PROFILE PIC IS WONDERFULZZZZ
Rachel Chan If you just started of course it wouldn't be as good ^^ try practicing everyday with it,or at least whenever you have the time to
Exactly me 😂
Same xD
5 years later and I still come back here when I need a refresher with my Copic markers. I am very thankful to you! Hope you’re well! ^^
Your lineart ❤️❤️
I'd really appreciate if you did a copic coloring tutorial of clothes, I really suck at it, and the main reason is that I have no idea of shadows and lightning.
That is why I suck at coloring skin and hair too.
+Matsuoka Hime Thank you for your suggestion :) I'll do it sometime soon :)
Tiekanashiro This comment is 4 years old, I’m curious, have you improved by now? :)
@@digikaa im curious as well
I‘m also curious

Yeep
lmfao i thought i commented this for a second, you have my old profile picture
*no swearing on my christian minecraft server*
Maybe you could do a video on coloring darker skins tones as well? This video was very helpful anyways, thank you for uploading it :3
Thank you, this was really useful!
Not a single person noticing this is how pluvias learned to color skin
@@stephaniecortez8720 i do :P
What a surprise finding you here! X3
This is one of the best copic skin vids I've seen
In the title it says that it's a 'slow tutorial' when it's actually faster than how my grandma walks...😕
it's in real time exept the parts which are already explained ;)
I've never seen a person's hand ever in my life move as fast as yours. You probably sped the video up.
Rus Chan she said if she has explained what she's doing, it's been sped up... Smh
Chromatose Then why is 'Slow' in the title?
seriously lol i cant even read the explanations fast enough. it would have been a great tutorial if it was slowed down or even better if she talked through it instead.
This tutorial really helps. I'm still learning how to color skin tones. Thank you!
Thank you! I kinda already do most of the steps, but just showing where you leave white areas helps a lot!!
Thank you so much for the help! I've been getting into using alcohol based markers but I've been struggling to figure out that "full" sense of shading that I admire in other art. This will be a huge help!

Finally a tutorial of someone who actually knows what they are doing. Looks amazing! :)
Love, love, love your style of drawing and coloring ❤

Oh and if you would like to see the picture here it is 😊 instagram.com/p/BOydrvWD7lx/
I just wish these copic markers weren't so expensive 😬😩😂 Cause I'm broke hahaha 😂😅😓😭
Jadelyn Cho Dude Ohuhu is like $20 for 36 markers check them out. they are super good quality too! Studio 71 and Artist Loft are also good alternatives
Try ohuhu, master markers, and artist loft
Artist loft is around 3.99 or 2.99 for 1 marker! You can buy all your markers separately and the are like copics but the cheaper version
I bought 5 copics for 50$ 😅
Ohuhu is high quality
Ah...
I have copic markers and I colored so slow...Now I know the problem.
;-;
Such great explanation of blending and layering! So helpful, thank you.

I just ordered the 72 pack set b and I’m so excited to try this!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. It helped tremendously. It was easy to follow along and I was able to achieve a similar outcome.
I always have a hard time with skin color. I like the tip about using the pink first. I'll have to try it.
great drawing by the way. :)
This needs to be added to an oddly satisfying compilation
Your colouring technique is amazing! Her face looks lovely :) Definitely going to try these techniques out! Thank you for making this.

I found this easy just by looking at how you hold the marker and how you use it to create different shading.
My first video ever watched on your channel and you have a new subscriber. It's so soothing to watch you paint. Love this video! ☺️

You answered
Well, I use Chamex A4
but you're probably asking to Rambutan, right?
sometimes i try to use markers, but the paper is so thin that the 'marker's paint' pass through the paper
try to use something ticker
I’m so late, so satisfying watching the color appear😌

I want copic marker for 80set .... but so expensive :(((
+Meriç Sezeniş the shinhan touch are a good copic alternative. Cheaper than copics and have that squishy brush nib.
Try prismacolor brush! I have a 72 set and they are the same quality as copic!!
+ClassicCatComedy are they cheaper?
+Puriki pop every market is cheaper then copics. D: lol
Bel Saw oh ;-;
