Having now played Deltarune, looking back on this video and referring to Suzy like this gives me the idea that Undertale has a version of Susie named Suzy, in the same way that this world's version of Kris is Frisk. So, somewhere out there is a purple dinosaur monster we never encounter. Maybe in the central monster city.
One thing I'll repeat that someone else here has is that the actual player being a character in the world is probably legitimate to say, given how much the 4th wall is broken, specifically when Chara talks to directly to us. You might say that the whole game is one big power struggle where the people who are really in control of the world's fate is the Player, Chara and Gaster. Chara being destructive, Gaster wanting to preserve monster kind from the outside, and the Player being the wildcard that can either set Chara loose, or go through with Gaster's hopes of us righting the wrongs of the world.
I think the developers put that in because they already had ideas for delta rune wich is pretty crazy that far back

I always thought that the friend with the creepy smile was flowey. One reason being flowey is able to move around where ever he wants and also if you sometimes go backwards while playing you might see flowey because he follows you. So maybe they saw flowey following us and thought he was our friend.

I think it could most likely be Chara due to the fact that Chara seems to follow us around for most of the game and has a creepy smile.

I do not think that "Gaster" is a bad or hostile character. at most mysterious and complex or scary.
It's hard to say, he's a scientist. With the little we know about him, he does seem like the type that would sacrifice "anything" for curiousity.
We can't even be sure what his role is, we might never, though i do think with Deltarunes full release, we will difenitly get to know about him more.
But in subtext i hope, that's what makes him interesting and mysterious after all.

I've watched a theory video all about Chara, and it seems they are the narrator of the whole game. In certain events, they won't talk or explain. Like, in genocide when you look at the picture of the Dreemurrs. "..." is their answer. Also, the theorist explains that Chara's ghost is with you and in genocide, it will slowly take over you. So, I think the little girl talking to you in the field is Suzy. I feel as if Suzy is an all-powerful being with around the same power as Gaster himself. And, if the smiling figure is Chara's ghost...how else would that Suzy see it? She'd have to have SOME power to see a GHOST...

Origami Bushbaby I don’t think so, it seems like she was always there, just wasn’t relevant to the story. The idea to kill a character is always there but it’s the choice of the player to give in to the thought. The feeling you get from doing so is Chara. She explains this vaguely on the genocide route.
Honestly, when I first saw the "creepy smile" scene, I assumed the girl was talking about Chara. The whole smiling thing just made me think of Chara because the only time we see their facial expression in game they were smiling. Also, assuming the girl talking was a monster like everyone else in the underground, I don't think she would assume that the human was friends with a random monster like Sans or Gaster. Also, the girl might talk to the monster and ask them to stop, not just ask you to ask them. Since a sentient talking flower might freak out anyone, regardless if they were a human or a monster, I suppose that's also a valid theory. But both Flowey and Chara can dissapear quickly, Chara by fading away because ghost, or Flowey shlooping off to somewhere else in the underground. So I think it's probably either Chara or Flowey.

There's actually 13 endings in undertale the standard 3 then post pacifist and then the other endings require you to kill certain monsters like one where papyrus becomes king

I just don't think Toby Fox would ever use "[NAME REDACTED]" just as a placeholder, but always to make a hint/create hidden subtext, and where more perfect is it to make that in credit screens, social media, in-game, audio files, secret text (wingdings, seen under specific circumstances), AND in the game code.
Gaster is everywhere, and he's nowhere.

I think the person is referring to Chara. In number one “your friend with the creepy smile.” Chara’s always smiling, and in the Genocide ending she says “your power awakened me from death...” The more creepy thing about this is that the can see Chara, so does that means she’s a ghost? Also maybe that is what the clam monster thing in Waterfall is talking about, maybe “Suzy” is that person who asks about “your friend with the creepy smile” in the grass in that secret room. Those are just my theories, there’re probably wrong.

9:10 i believe the girl is talking about chara. Because chara said that she was awakenes by frisk's (the players) power which is probably the determination. Chara was still dead but alot of people imply into that that chara followed you as a ghost. And that would make sense with the creepy smile because in a flashback asriel asks chara to do her "Scary Face" which you can see her do right before the 9 screen in the end of the genocide run. And before that there is also a "Creepy smile" that chara does. =) that is probably that creepy smile the girl refered to.

8:35 i don’t know much about undertale and the theories about it but i believe it’s referring to chara for she’s depicted as a ghost who follows frisk around, watching and taking note of every action she chooses. this goes into detail about the route you, the player/frisk, decide to make. if you choose the pacifist route, chara is not affected. however, if you choose the genocide route, chara is affected and she’s becomes a sadist. she’s the one that throws the final blows at sans, asgore, and flowey, ultimately killing them. again, i don’t know much about these theories so correct me lmao

The reason why the player couldn't see the creepy smile is because sans could've teleported,chara could've went back into the players soul,flowey could've went into the ground, and gaster could've just disappeared completely.

That last fact about the “friend with a creepy smile” could be Flowey. He does follow you around in the Ruins. So who says that he couldn’t have followed you out into Waterfall?

During Undyne's battle, it says "Flower pollen drifts in front of you" in the dialogue box at one point, so it is confirmed that Flowey follows you there. Also, if you walk to the left after finishing Mettaton's cooking show, you can see Flowey going back underground for a split second.

@Tafton Passey kinda is. Yh she just a kid whos mind has been distorted by the things shes experienced but...shes a genocider. She wanted to kill all of humanity but when she realised she couldnt she went to commit suicide. But then asriel found her and the dreemurrs took her in. She was still psychotic. She laughed when they made asgore sick and when she was dying she wanted to give her soul to asriel and go back to her village so she could wipe it out.
@Tafton Passey even so that just a theory. It changes my way of thinking. At the point of u still being in control u can choose to spare sans. But once u hit lvl 20 asgore dies straight away, u cant spare him. Same with flowey (i dont think thats hesitation)

Here's my theory about Gaster, Mystery Man, and Redacted:
Gaster was split up across space and time. So it's only logical that his body is broken. I think that Mystery Man and Redacted are, in fact, parts of Gaster.
Gaster is a glitch.
Alphys needed Undead Determination for the determination project not to go wrong, due to the fact that Undead Determination is more powerful because it would need the soul to survive after death.
Goner Kid talks about being in a world where you don’t exist.
Snowdrake’s Mom had her existence denied, and her most powerful forces being love, grief, and determination.
Sans has depression, has knowledge of other dimensions, and if his eyes are glowing blue and yellow, then they’re regularly glowing white, indicating him and a certain someone were friends......
Evidence some of the monsters in the underground still remember him, the one character from Undertale, trying to go back to Undertale, though they’re trapped in another dimension/universe. I have more evidence he’s from Undertale, if you want to check that out, go to the OST So Cold (the one w/ frisk and toriel)

The one that says redacted in wing dings and the mistery man are in my theory two bits of gaster, and one of the grey NPC's says that he's holding a peice of gaster, so that means gaster is literally shattered through time and space. Please make this a theory because we need to find more peices of gaster to complete the puzzle, because there can't only be three of peices of him

When Gaster's data was scrambled, the few people related to him were likely affected in some way. Hardly anyone but Alphys remembers him, if at all, but the hidden NPCs all seem to know him quite well. They were probably affected as soon as Gaster was shattered, since their existences were "part" of him.
