This is the most sound comment here. So many people saying dawid should have won. No. That one foot table (with no style) over the wall ride isn’t going to cut it. If he even just tailwhipped over the wall ride he probably would’ve beat Emil and Emil would’ve had to do the craziest run ever.
It had heaps of style, your point of view is why this sport gets stale and repetitive, not happy if it’s not a bar spin or a tail whip.

Emil may not do the most "craziest" tricks but man the tricks he does is just perfection
his tricks are not as flashy, doesn't do many flips or any twisters like godziek or rogatkin but you could definitely argue that his tricks are the craziest, nobody else is doing combinations like that both directions, several he's literally the only person that's ever done them.
I think he's overscored, frankly. I like his style and his trick selection is interesting. But I think he should've placed third at best in this one
@@PlaySA he 1000% deserved first and deserved first in the last 10 competitions he’s won. other riders do like 2 or 3 bangers and then non progressive tricks where they have to fill space while Emil does a technical combo on every feature. Don’t disrespect the anomaly like that.
Huuuuge props to isted for stomping his run, been such a hard road and every event i'm yelling at my screen for him. really wish the judges would maybe ask more from Emil than just "do it the other way" and robbing the other riders doing new stuff. He doesn't get you out of the seat anymore, and that alone should tell you enough. sick rider but man he's been dry lately

Hate how Godziac does the sickest run ever and right after it all ya hear it ‘he’s got room to clean it up’ just because he did one filler trick, dude gets robbed all the time, he had me on the edge of my seat all the way down. Emil is dialled and great to watch but also quite predictable. Need more points for how gnarly and exciting a run is not just how pristine.
At this point if anything has Red Bull on it then it’s on another level consistently

I am done watching this after some time because I was preparing for a competition myself. It is good that I ran late here tho, because I can read all the comments now.
Being a professional musician for 25 years and knowing how tough is to be the 1st in any kind of competition and audition, it is kind of sad for me to read all the comments about Emil being boring and not good enough... seriously? :)
Guys PLEASE UNDERSTAND, judges are actually professionals in the field and need to take so many different things into consideration when giving a score to a competitor. Understand what EMIL has, and all these years nobody couldn't come close to him.. and that is CONSISTENCY. Nobody does this better than him currently, and it's not even close.
Either this or everything is already rigged, that can be possible as well. = )

The real reason Dr. Johansson sticks his 1st run is due to the fact he doesn't want to more than double his kilocalorie expenditure. Another run adds significant stress, risk, simple impact--all unnecessary if you can master your craft. Emil Johansson is a legend!

They're getting there with labeling the opposite tricks, having the caption at the bottom saying their natural direction of rotation is a start but its tough when things get complicated like Ben Thompson clearly naturally spins counter clockwise towards his back foot but naturally does tail whips the other way, with his front foot like Andy Buckworth and a few others, but the announcers are calling it opposite. It's messy business, wish I were an announcer cause I just pay attention to that and almost always know when its opposite.
Luckily Griffin was on a full suspension :D
I get that people like Rogatkin’s level of stoke, but he needs to stopping inserting himself into everyone else’s big moments

I was so excited to watch slopestyle but left early after dealing with a lady who pushed my sons friend out of the way so she could get to the front she then pushed my son out the way a full grown lady, the kids are 10. I know this is not crankworx but this is the new age mtb culture of rich people buying expensive mtb and thinking they are entitled now. Completely ruined the day and we left half way through the slopestyle because of this. I hit her up and said why are you pushing in? Her son then threw a red bull van into the track she laughed like it was ok… we won’t be back I’ll watch it on the live from now on. The mtb world is turning into the surf world full of old rich propel who think they are number 1. The same people who ride their bikes down the walking path past all the signs that say walk

For sure!! I live here in Canada and it's horrible on the trails, everyone has an attitude, it's really bad bro-culture and it ruins the experience, I miss when there was no money in the sport and we had to DIY everything, Dig or no ride rules, no everyone just shows up on a $4000 mtb and calls you some new insult that I don't even understand.
Godziek should of won. I feel as though the judges over did Emil score.
