@@earfquake4556 Nah, but both his paternal and maternal surnames are clearly not of a Spanish origin, it’s not that uncommon. Teofilo Stevenson Lawrence for example. I’m not demeaning his Cubanness if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m born and raised in NYC, but my parents came from elsewhere: It’s called nationality and ethnicity and culture
Y’all think y’all know everything lol he’s born and raised in camaguey cuba just like Kevin brown and that’s not their whole name I’m of Jamaican and Cuban descent I know what I’m talking about.
@@acetofresh1 Both Teofilo parents Cuban idk if you know but just like many other countries cuba was once captured by the English that’s why their names are like that
@@earfquake4556 Dude, you’re being ignorant. I am also a Jamaican of Cuban descent. Many Cubans are of islands elsewhere descent because of immigration. Teofilo Stevenson’s parenthood is well documented. He spoke English first, and maintained fluency but always gave interviews in Spanish. He was a lifelong friend of Muhammad Ali-- impossible if he wasn’t a fluent speaker. Also had given interviews you can check out. Just because you say things doesn’t make it true. If your surname isn’t of Spanish/Cuban origin, your parents likely came from elsewhere. The Caribbean is diverse. If you think Kevin Brown’s quite clearly West Indian heritage is non-existent I suggest you read a history book. The English never held Cuba. By the way your identity doesn’t entitle you to knowledge. The British never held Cuba-- they temporarily held Havana for a year in the 1800s - a statistical blip in affecting their culture or populace. The same way many of these boxers from the DR are clearly of Haitian descent upon further research. Stop speaking on emotions, speak on facts.
