      And secure in himself. I've had a few students whose kids are learning English as native speakers. I tell them, "Great! Your kids can help you learn English." Some will reject the idea of kids having the upper hand in this situation and refuse to learn from them. It's an enormous waste of an opportunity because the fastest way to learn a language is to use it. If you eliminate speaking it at home you're doing yourself a disservice.

    This is much like "Scaffolding for Student Success". Through the "scaffolding structure" both in the aspects of teaching approach and learning approach, which revolves around the key word(e.g. town). Gradually you introduce one item by one item very patiently. The learner has great chance to learn them thoroughly. Thank you very much for introducing this useful approach to us!

    Great teacher and equally great student's demonstration! Thank you! Natives always tell me that the flow is meant to save my energy and effort when I talk. However, as a non-native speaker, I find the flow is the most energy-consuming part for me - every time I try to get the right flow, I sweat, LOL.

      How would you describe the method @Fernando Marquez?

    • @fernandomarquez365
      @fernandomarquez365 Рік тому

      @@JillDiamond First I must clarify that I have a PhD in Physics and did my research at the University of Texas at San Antonio... Nowadays I help different students in Mexico and the USA to use different methods to ACQUIRE the Spanish or English language in less than 6 months (BUT THEY LOSE THEIR FEAR FROM THE BEGINNING)... a method that researchers use is the one that works and the results are seen in a short time and that works in different students at any level, and my method (I have diagrams, diagrams and planning) that I use is for the student to learn from a zero level to manage phonetics-pronunciation-contraction-reduction-intonation-linking words in all sentences (I have implemented this method since the beginning of my courses) I must clarify which is a very difficult method because most people do not understand what is happening and because everything sounds strange but fortunately I studied and lived in Chicago for a long time and it helped me motivate my students to understand that English is the easiest language of the world. And I dare to say this because I am studying my fourth language which is French (my preferred language). I really admire all language teachers because I know perfectly well the process that we have to go through to acquire this knowledge and the most important thing that the student learns. Thanks

      @TicoSmartphone you really have to be careful though when speaking in this manner that you don't link words to create another word you didn't intend. For example, if you say 'Greatest hits", and link the words in the manner described above, it would sound like 'Greatest tits", and then you would have a whole new level of problems. Sometimes enunciation is just as crucial.

    Dear Mis Jill, I am obliged to tell u that this way of teaching English pronunciation and fluency is unbelievably outstanding. I am an advanced learner but I have always had problems with my accent. I am truely glad and thankful. Really, thank you. ^_^

    I had never seen a class like this. Simply spetacular! Amazing! I wish I had learned english by using this method since the beginning. I face difficulty on listening comprehension because what I write or read is never what I hear from a native speaker. Congrats teacher Jill.

    I love the emotion that this teacher put into her work, too. I'm Colombian. Learning English in Colombia has been tragic for my "speaking." But I love this channel. I'm learning a lot. *Jill Diamond*
