The way that the cone flew off made me chuckle. 🙂 I tend to wind fast with my winder and I am sure it would have ended up across the room. I have a winder like this which has been serving me for many years. I did buy a Stanwood winder to wind bigger balls, but I have kept my "old faithful" for the smaller winding jobs. 😉 Thanks for sharing your winder experiences. I remember how much searching I had to do to find demos on the use of winders years ago so this video with be appreciated by many. ❤
Hi Sheila, that winds fast! It looks real sturdy too.. I wind my yarn on my hands. Ha ha. Bet you are real pleased with your purchase!. And will be looking for yarn to wind up. I would be. Many thanks for your videos! Mandy xxx😊
Hiya Sheila I would love that and would be winding wool like a woman possessed ha ha , av plenty of wool needs winding , well done u got a bargain your the lady to find the bargains 😂 💕💕😘
I have a really old blue and white Royal Winder, and it still works like a dream… Enjoy! The edge of my table is kind of a funny shape, so sometimes I have to put a really thin piece of silicone between the Winder and the table before I tighten the clamp, then it holds on really well. I think the silicone is meant to be some sort of weird pot holder but that’s what I use.
I had the Chinese crap probably the same one you had cream and red it was very flimsy and never lasted very long, this one is made in Japan and very strong and sturdy the same as one i had over 30 years ago which i sold and know it is still going strong..
Looks like you got a great deal on that one. The ones I see on ebay here in the U.S. seem much more expensive. Happy for you, Sheila. :)
Looks like a terrific purchase Sheila! 🥰
I have this wool winder too. I bought it for £1 at a charity shop a few years ago. I find it to be good. A good review thank you Sheila.
The same as my old red and white winder its over 20 years , and I use it all the time .Glad you found one that works for you.
