    Batata Wada
    Vada pav is one of the most humble vegetarian fast street food dish in Maharashtra tasty n delicious.I call it as Mumbai burger as the potato Vada is sandwiched between the two slices of pav and it resembles as the burger .
    Ingredients
    Potato. 1/2kg
    Onion. 2medium size(finely chopped)
    For grinding. 6 greenchillies,2inch piece
    ginger,6/7cloves of garlic
    Jeera 2teaspoons
    Turmeric. 1 teaspoon
    Coriander leaves. For garnishing
    Salt. as per your taste
    For Batter
    Besan/Chanadal flour. 300 grams/2cups
    Ajwain/ova/caromseeds. 1teaspoon
    Turmeric. 1teaspoon
    Salt. as per your taste
    Method
    1.Boil the potatoes in the cooker for twenty minutes with 3 to 4whistles
    2 In the meantime grind the ginger garlic n chillies coarsely,cut the onions finely
    3.Prepare the wada batter by adding besan turmeric ova salt and 2cups of water
    4.Now the potatoes are cooked Peel of the skin and keep it on a plate
    5.Grate the boiled potatoes or mash it with your hands.Its your choice.
    6.Now in a pan add oil about 2teaspoons Then add jeera finely cut onions fry till onions turn light brown then add the ground chilly ginger garlic paste to it and fry a little and then add the mashed or grated boiled potatoes which we had kept ready to this mixture and mix it properly To this mixture add turmeric powder and salt as per your taste and mix well properly and empty the contents on a plate to cool.
    7.After the mixture is cooled,prepare medium size balls and keep aside.
    8.Heat oil in a kadai about 500ml on a medium flame.
    9.Put the potato balls in the besan mixture and roll it properly so that the potato balls are covered well with besan mixture and taking the bowl of the besan mixture near the kadai slide them in the medium heated oil one by one.
    10.Wait for a minute and then turn the potato wadas and wait till all the wadas are fried well .
    11.Remove the wadas from the oil to a plate.
    12.Serve these Batata wadas with pav or bread or only wada with green chutney dry chutney sauce of your choice.
    With these ingredients you can make about 25wadas of medium sized.
