If Durant has million fans, I am among them.
If Durant has one fan, I am that fan.
If Durant has no fans, I am dead.
If Durant has two fans, I'm there too
If Durant has one fan, you are the lone survivor
Durant has fans for the right reasons! A Pokémon perfect for Dynamax in Gen 8 VGC, a great Pokemon for the Battle Maison in Gen 6, only one weakness!
But Heatmor? Nope.
Nuh uh i am
As fans of Durant, we are united!! 🫡
Me like ants.
Durant: wears armor to protect itself from it's predator
Also Durant: becomes quad weak to fire
Honestly i like that, it makes me want a regional form, durant bug fairy tipe based on a honey ant, and a heatmor poison type.
It should’ve been Rock/Bug.
@@Elekaz-Z that is a way to look at it. But the other way is funnier
Metal conducts heat very well
Funny thing is, Durant’s stat spread (physically strong sweeper) is leagues better than Heatmor (slow, frail mixed attacker) and it carries coverage against Fire, so Durant still technically has the advantage
Ah yes, the pokemon literally everyone has named Kevin at least once
Wait, why, Kevin?

Durant and I have a history. The year was 2011, and I had just recieved Pokemon Black for my 7th birthday. I had fought through the game with my valiant Samurott, and was planning on finishing the game once I returned home from school. But my younger brother who was too young for school had other plans, taking my DS and releasing my valiant starter pokemon. So I had to adapt my strategy, which was hard because i was 7 and only trained my Samurott. So I caught the first high level pokemon I found, a Durant, who I named Deborah. She was perfect, but at the time, I was unaware. 31 IVs across the board, a Jolly Nature, and the Hustle ability. Captured at the perfect level where she would have most of her moveset. Crunch, Bug Bite (soon to be replaced with the TM for X-Scissor), Iron Head, and Dig. Without grinding, simply by continuing through the Victory Road, she never missed a move and swept through not just the trainers there, but also absolutely destroyed the League by herself. She was perfect, and Durant has since been one of my favorite pokemon, to the point where I have a running joke, where I say Durant cannot be male, and Deborah encompases the species.
Heatmor is cool too I guess, high tier fire type in terms of design imo
Unironically a great story.
Seeing Hearmor always makes me shout out it’s name in the same way Agnes skinner says “SEYmour!”
It actually kinda sounds that way too in the anime. 😂
"Heatmor, the house is on fire!"
"No, mother, it's just the steamed ants we're having"
“HEEEEATMOOOR!!!”
“Ah, super intendant Chandelure!”
It’s also worth mentioning that Sandaconda was added to the lore as well, it eats Durant eggs.
I unironically love Heatmor. It's shiny is, pun very much intended, fire
Heatmor is remembered for having a unique fire move that should have been given to more pokemon sooner
Also a move it didn't even get until 2 generations after it debuted, and that became more available 1 generation later. Dude couldn't even keep the one thing it had for that long
@@Ultradragon16 honestly that move should have been widely available sooner. Why give such a good move to a lesser cared about pokemon without telling anyone?
Or make heatmor more available and useful. That and Durant both could use an Evo or something to come back as single stage pokemon
@@Ultradragon16 I wish pokemon could have signature moves again, why the hell is golisapod using the samurott lines razor shell when it already has liquidation?
@@NintendoSegaGuys It seems to be a topic that has people on both sides. On the one hand it sucks when they take away something that makes a specific Pokemon unique. On the other hand some less popular or powerful Pokemon would love to have THAT move
Outrageous ass title, I LOVE Heatmor and Durant's designs.
Many real world species live in symbiotic relationships with ant colonies, including parasitic caterpillars that mimic ant larvae, mites that feed on the ant's waste, and the specialized fungus that leafcutter ants farm for food. If a pokemon game ever allowed you to explore a durant nest, you would probably find new species of pokemon that are rare or even absent outside of this environment.
I like how Durant has that "Squidward when Spogebob exists" look 24/7
I remember heatmor being useful in a nuzlocke I did for like… a few battles. I won’t forget you, Glup Shitto
That name feels so familiar

Durant is cool, but honestly, I love Heatmor's design, it's so cool, I love the way the arms with claws look and the fire tongue is awesome
“Hungry Like the Heatmor” by Durant Durant
lmao
I absolutely love Heatmor’s design. It represents what I love about Pokémon designs in general where they take something based in our world but add a unique spin to it. The idea to interpret an anteater’s tongue as this weird curled flame that burns through Durant’s armor is so creative! Also its drooped eyes are really cute. Unfortunately I never had the chance to use one on my team, but I’m hoping that changes in the future!
I actually really like Heatmor and durant. As for why, Heatmor actually has a pretty nice shiny in my opinion, anteaters are also really awesome, they intimidate foes by doing a T-Pose, sadly Heatmor don't have intimidate tho. And Durants are so cute to me, I dunno why, they're kinda small compared t other Pokemon, but they seem like the type to be tough on the outside but really sweet in the inside, literally in Heatmor's case.
In Heatmor’s case, it’s one of those Pokémon where its unpopularity is kind of its own unique draw.
Everybody and their mother has seen a shiny Charizard, but a shiny Heatmor? Now that’s a real spectacle!
Ahh, Durant. Legit one of my all time favorites actually. It's a simple Pokemon sure, but it's great stats, great typing, pretty decent ability, and the interesting take on the whole Anteater V.S. Ant thing, I've always had a fondness for this angry little bug.
Plus, as someone who is legit fascinated by how ants in general work together as a kid, I was hoping they'd make an Ant Pokemon. And when they did, I was very thankful to GF for creating it.
So to all the Durant fans out there, you're not alone.
I have a solid appreciation for Durant. I used one as a mock Bug Type Gym Leader in a group once. It’s a hard hitting ant and is a great Dynamax option due to having such a high attack and Dynamax moves not missing.
These two are the Zangoose/Seviper rivalry except it makes immediate sense without needing to research
Both easily belongs with my top Unova pokémon. Fire and bug are my two favorite types, and anteaters have had a soft spot for me for years
If they weren't only found in Victory Road I would probably use one in gen 5
gotta name your durant “kevin” in every playthrough
Shiny Heatmor goes hard
I feel like this video's comment section just proves that a lot of people love (including me) Heatmor and Durant.
Loved using the Durant mill from Battle Styles and the Fusion Strike Heatmor in Gym Leader Challenge format of the TCG.
I’ve seen a lot of people hate on Heatmor and Durant on the topic of Gen 5 straying too far from “real” Pokémon designs- which is hilarious. Ken Sugimori designed both of them, they’re basically as close to being Gen 1 PKMN as possible without literally being on that cartridge
As a Bug-type trainer, Durant is an easy top favorite for me. Great typing, great stats, it was a speedy alternative to Scizor with a really fun ability in Hustle. If Heatmor and Durant were to get further developments in the future, I think a regional form would be one of the best ways to expand on them. Have Durant become a Fire/Bug fireant as an adaptation, but Heatmor then adapted into a Water-type in response in that region.
durant was my first ever shiny way back, has more sentimental value for me
Absolutely love Durant. My reasoning for this love comes from how I really enjoy its design and my usage of Durant (Who I named Gus) in a draft league where it did incredibly well.
I clicked on this video ready to fight, but found an ally instead
Imagine A Durant Evolution With The Heatproof Ability🔥
I like them.
Heatmor has crazy looking exhaust pipe claws. Durant is just a metal bug.
MY BOYS❤️
I never found either of these guys in Gen 5, than when I first encountered them in Pokemon Y, I was convinced they were Gen 6 mons.
Some of the dex entries mention Durant covering itself in steel armor to protect itself from Heatmor but that's basically the same as adding fuel to an open flame, it's illogical but I have a theory of my own just like how Pokémon's can change appearance or outright their biology based on their surroundings it could be that Heatmor might not always have been fire type until Durant started using steel plating to requiring them to evolve in a way that combats their armor but this is just a theory, A POKÉMON THEORY, thanks for reading!
PS. In the Pokémon Shield Pokédex entry for Durant it states that Sanaconda is also a predator to Durant's egg's, just a little fun fact 😊
Durant: Haha, I live in a land of earth now. Heatmor isss weak againssst dirt, he will not come here!
Sssandaconda: Bonjour
Durant's Black Pokédex entry says it covers itself in steel armour to protect from Heatmor. How does becoming a Steel type protect it from a Fire type? It makes itself even weaker to Fire.
because maybe in the past heatmor wasn't a fire type, then after durant started to use the armor it evolved into a fire type to be on advantage
@@metaltom4991 No Pokédex entry says Heatmor didn't use to be a Fire type, though.
@@ShayTheValiantBut Durant's pokedex entry does say steel would protect it from heatmor
@@lumisussy Again, how? Durant is a Bug/Steel type. It's 4x weak to Fire, and Heatmor is a Fire type.
@@ShayTheValiant I believe they’re saying that Dex Entry implies that Heatmor used to be something other than Fire
Durant has a fun gimmick of giving opponent pokemon truant
I do like Durant. If you've ever done a ribbon master challenge you know how useful Durant is for the battle Maison and battle tree ❤
I’m actually using a heatmor in a run of Pokémon white 2 I find using underrated or underused Pokémon in a play through makes me appreciate them more
I actually always loved heatmor, mainly because I love anteaters. But also he has a interesting design and his lore is fun
Who thinks heatran should have the ability heatproof (maybe even make heatproof provide immunity to fire attacks)
Can't believe Durant got a new evolution, Durantr (this will look weird if the title changes now that i think about it.)
Was very 'eh' about Heatmor at first, but now I like it
I think anteaters are neat, in Animal Crossing they're really cute, and hey, I love Borzoi, so long snoot is good snoot
Also Heatmor has an amazing shiny
I played pokemon Shield while having both heatmor and Durant on the same team, it was so fun, the Durant was my strongest member, thank you José
Hey, I like em !...They aren't bozos damn, both are cool, even if durant's ancestors were dumb enough to develop steel exoskeleton
I love Heatmor, but only because I have always inexplicably considered anteaters my favorite animal
Guys its me, the one heatmor fan
My dad likes hording Durant on his Pokemon account. His main account is named ArmyAnts (Big Bang Theory reference)
I was here before the typo fix
"Who Even Likes Heatmor and Durant?"
*I Do* 🙋
DURANT IS AWESOME I LOVE DURANT I LOVE DURANT!! FUNNY BUG FUNNY BUG!! I like Durant because I played a fan game called Pokemon Reborn that actually had durant available early on. I had 2 Durants, 1 named Hudson, who was a standard Hustle attacker with either choice band or choice scarf, and one named Marvey, who was a truant entrainment user. Both these mons carried a few gym fights, and it really made me like Durant, so I brought them into Sword and shield, and I shiny hunted a Durant named Rustclaw!
I actually originally wanted to use one on my team during the story but couldn't fit it in sadly.
I've always been pretty fond of Durant, ever since I first encountered one at Victory Road in White; it may not be among my literal top favorites, but I'd still say I like it quite a bit, prpbably fod the novelty of a metal ant and its angry attitude. I also hold Maractus in similar regard, an instant addition to my team when I first saw it that continues to be memorable for me
I feel like heatmore could have done with being floofy. He's an anteater fgs.
Heatmor is one of my favorite pokémon so I love it regardless and I just think this video speaks for me, overall I hope you have a great day
The only reason I even give a fuck about Durant is because he reminds of the NBA player 😂
I like both, but I lean a little more towards Heatmor.
I like Durant because it's got a cool design and I like Heatmor for reasons I'm still not entirely sure of.
Ants are one of my favourite animals so i think durant is one of my 3 favourite pokémon ever. It could be the most tavourite if it was in Pokémon Stadium 1 tho. But even then it is almost there.
I DO
I LIKE HEATMOR AND DURANT
Love your deep dives - always cool to see how certain Pokemon were represented in the TCG and anime as I’m less familiar with them
Durant could use just a few stronger moves to really be a menace even nowadays. One Hone Claws alongside 120 bp STAB moves would spell doom for any mon unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end. Slap on Close Combat to patch up the Steel resists, because everyone and their mom is getting that move now, and it's good. Maybe not super common in OU, but I can see it being pretty good in UU as either a Hone Claws setup mon or a straight RNG hell Banded mon.
Heatmor, on the other hand, needs a lot more going for it. Better Abilities would be nice, like Tough Claws (if you've seen real life Giant Anteaters, you know) and Solar Power over Gluttony and White Smoke. I don't even know why the _ant eating_ Pokemon has an Ability that lets it eat _berries_ more, but whatever - a signature Ability that let it deal more damage against Bug type mons would have been a lot cooler, just saying. A better movepool, with moves like Swords Dance, Close Combat (again, mons like Barraskewda and Eelectross get it), Earth Power and Earthquake, and maybe even Scald would both expand its coverage and give it more tools on the physical side of things. And a stat increase would be very appreciated; it _is_ the predator of Durant after all, so having the exact same bst as it isn't exactly needed. A simple 15 boost to its HP would help it not be as frail, and the last point to bring it to an even 500 bst could be slapped onto pretty much any stat - maybe Sp. Atk to give it all the Solar Power boost it can get. Probably not even modern day RU material, I'd put it maybe around NU/PUBL level with all the buffs combined, but at least it would have a few avenues of damage to choose from and won't rot in the depths of ZU.
I love heatmor
I’ve always liked Heatmor, for no other reason than I think it’s cool. I wish it wasn’t found so late, I’d love to use one in a playthrough.
Durant honestly holds a bit of a special place in my heart because I used it for the battle tree in USUM due it having access to entrainment and truant, and I ended up having a 150 battle streak
I have a new appreciation for these two, thanks to your video. Gen 5 is my fav gen
I love Heatmor.
We need a Heatmor Evo that's part Steel Type with Earth Eater Ability. And a Mega Durant with Flash Fire.
A no weaknesses durant would actually go crazy
I do love Durant!
They should have a queen Durant! Emprant(Empress + Ant)!
I love Durant, coolest ant/termite around. It would be cool it it got a female evolution with an ABSOLUTELY GIGANTIC abdomen
I f*cking love Durant such a well designed Pokémon not complicated in the slightest but isn't bland and un original like seel. Durant is amazing and really helped in the late game of Pokémon black I intend on using it in a challenge run of some sorts for a challenge like a mono type run. Durant is a top 3 favourite Pokémon for me only beaten by Tegetic and Mismagius.
Their main problem is always being late game mons.
Durrant shouldve had evolutions into the different ant colony roles
I love these two they are my most favorite gen 5 pokemon
Here before the typo fix
How dare you disrespect heat mor
Ah yes the Pokemon that exists for Shedinja doubles.
I did a mono bug run on sword a while ago and Durant was surprisingly pretty good. The 2nd MVP of the team behind Scyther.
Heatmor I can't say anything. Even it's signature move was taken by other Pokemon
Much like Gorebyss, I tend to forget these two even exist lol
Durant is definitely one of my favorites. I'm not too big of a fan of heatmor but he does pair so nicely with Durant and I definitely have them both on my team in my Pokemon game.
Call me crazy, but I actually do like both Durant amd Heatmor (Mostly Durant lol)
I actually used Heatmor in Pokémon Sword or Shield (don´t remember wich one), and it's actually a pretty good Pokémon. I like it.
I didnt care for Durant until i dìscovered it outspeeds Mega Charizard Y and 1 shot mine with Stone Edge in a Nuzlocke. After that i have grown to fear the Durable Amt
Jwitts spits fire like a heatmor!
Durantr
I really like these 2 Pokemon. I just wish they would be available earlier in their debut games.
Durantr is one of my favorite mons lol. Honestly
I love durantr 😭
I love heatmor it has a great shiny
I am a member of the Heatmor and Durant fan club. They are pretty awesome pokemon. 😊
Im a sucker for steel types and ants so i like my metal ant boi.
I remember Durant was really op with dynamax since dynamax ignored accuracy letting Durant basically get a free choice band
I adore that they had the Zangoose/Seviper dynamic, and always loved Durant... Shame I was never as attached to Heatmor.
Me, I like Heatmor and Durant.
I exist.
Durant my beloved
I love Durant, one of my favorite bug types. It's funny how in battle, the ant is better than the ant eater
I do!!! I love Durant, but that must be because I love both bug and steel types 😂
I did, Heatgoat and Durantest of all time over here
I love Durant! I used in my BW walkthrough!
I like Heatmor, I used him in pokemon brick bronze and thought he looked cool, he is very nostalgic for me
Wish Durant got the Vespinqueen treatment.
