Hi Captain, I enjoyed your video. I only just came across it and wondered if you have discovered the way to use sets since making this video? Ignore this if you're up to speed on choosing the various sets. You are only in the first set (11)during the video. I found the whole multiple functions for each button that Roland use confusing when I first got my FR-1x. When you are choosing a set, push the set button and then one of the treble registers. This will display the set number. You pushed treble 1 (Classic) and the number shown was probably 11-concerto. Pressing it again would cycle through 12, 13 and 14 before returning to 11. Pressing the 2nd treble register after you pressed set (or when the numbers are still displayed) will then cycle through the Jazz sets. Each set then has 14 to 16 sounds. Hope this helps. I went thru this when initially setting up the FR-1X. I chose the set I liked best, and that's what I use. I always have Drums on the bass side. Now I"m just trying to figure out how to make the instrument start by default in Orchestra mode for the Treble side. I discovered that the simple stuff I'm learning to play sounds really good with Drums on the Base and Clarinet on the Treble.... However the drums are saved so they are always on by default (which I wanted), but to get to Clarinet, I have to push the 'Orchestra' button, and then Register 3 three or four times. Any idea how to make Clarinet 'default' without using User Sets?

I think the most efficient way to get to the sounds you want is by using user programs. These are where you save the instrument (accordion or orchestra) and bass and drums etc set up how you want, to a user program. After turning on you press the user program button and whichever of the 8 setups you've saved. This video explains it reasonably well: ua-cam.com/video/EXsz494o330/v-deo.html
