Fatal Hit and Run Crash on Peachers Mill Road - Clarksville, TN (6/16/24)

UPDATE 6/27/24: According to information found during the investigation, the other vehicle was not a Ford, but a Kia K5. The driver was interviewed on Monday, June 24. Possible charges are pending in this case. CPD is still working with the district attorney’s office.

UPDATE: CPD has released the name of the driver who died. He was identified as 47-year-old Huey Johnson of Clarksville. Next of kin has been notified. According to new information from the investigation, both vehicles were driving at excessive speeds and did not make contact with each other. The driver of the red Fusion is still being sought. ⚫️6/16/24: Fatal Hit and Run⚫️
Clarksville, Tenn. - One person was killed after a hit and run crash along Peachers Mill Road near Allen Griffey Road. The crash was reported at approximately 7:50 p.m. by witnesses who saw the crash occur. They reported to CPD that the car that drove off was a red Ford Fusion. It possibly has damage somewhere on the rear where the victim’s car collided. The Ford Fusion continued driving northbound on Peachers Mill Road. The victim’s car drove off the road, hit a pole, then came to rest behind a guardrail. The victim has been declared deceased at the scene. Fatal crash investigators are currently documenting the scene. The road has been shut down in both directions. All traffic is being diverted on West Allen Griffey Road and at Abraham Drive. No further information has been released.
