Hello Sweetie, its more than just traditional music. Its a specific type of music to herald or announce the arrival of the King. So when you hear it, you know that the King is around. So when Suga rapped "Daechwita, Daechwita, play it loud, Daechwita", he's saying, him, the King is here.
@@sariel8406 its a great song, what i notice most about agust d, is the breath control when he raps, its crazy. not really a bts fan at all, but i like alot of the solo work
"Daechwita" means a type of music played to herald the king or his military - basically "The King is coming! Get out of the way and bow down before the King!" kind of music. Peasant Agust D is saying it ironically toward the Mad King Agust D but also truthfully for himself - here comes the new King, or maybe a newer version of a king. Mad King was jumping on the backs of his courtiers but they start headbanging for the new Peasant King. Such a cool video, right?
There’s an explanation video by DKDKTV about this MV. I’d recommend checking that one out with this just so you can catch those cultural references. They make a bunch of breakdown videos - which you’ll need for future reactions (popular ones are for Ddaeng, UGH, and Baepsae). BTS are known as lyrical geniuses but it can sometimes go over our heads so they help us along with that. Thanks for checking out more vids!! Can’t wait to see more.
Yoongi(Suga) was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Suga wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control, all in his "spare" time for his fans as part of his second mix tape (D-2) that he gave to ARMY for free on soundcloud... Agust D is the name he uses for his solo work. In BTS he took the name Suga because of the position he played in basketball - shooting guard as you mentioned.
You just reacted to one of the fastest rappers in the industry. Suga is a freakin lyrical genius and a beat mastermind. He is an award winning producer. You just got a lil taste of what he does. He is a phenomenal performer.
The blonde guy and the dark haired guy are both Agust D (Suga). He is playing both sides of himself...... The bad king vs. The new king. You gotta do the explanation video! When you watch that you will love this song more.
As with bts, Yoongi (aka Suga/Augst D) does everything. Beats, composer, production, lyrics and concept….etc. he is UNBELIEVABLY talented. He said he writes over 200 songs a year and plays multiple instruments. Also both him and RM were underground rappers before they joined BTS. ❤
thanks for reaction! Suga is Yoongi's stage name when he is part of BTS and AgustD is his stage name when he is solo. So you can just use any of those names, we will understand who you mean :) Btw he also has a song called "AgustD" and it is amazing! It is an earlier song and "Daechwita" actually references it, because the king in Daechwita represents the old personality of Suga (the one you see in the song "AgustD") and the black haired guy is new Suga. If you want to check more kpop groups, I recommend you Stray Kids! It is an 8-member boy group with amazing rappers as well, they are completely self-produced and write and compose 99.9% of their songs. "God's menu" could be a great song to start with. P.S. don't be stressed about pausing the video. usually kpop companies treat reactions as free promo, so even if you watch the whole in silence and say "it was cool" at the end you normally won't be blocked. so pause when you want to say smth but don't feel that you are obligated to pause regularly :). You got it right - Suga is pronounced the American way. And Augst D = Suga backwards plus TD, which is Daegu Town backwards - his hometown and the name of one of his early rap crews. This is one of my absolute favorite pieces by anybody ever, and the MV is awesome! This song is full of references to Korean history, and it's all very clearly explained by DKDKTV, as someone else pointed out. It's pretty in-depth, and it shows the intellect that Suga brings to the table. "Daechwita" is the fanfare that used to be played when the king was coming through. Augst D is the king, but he's also the low-class version of himself. He's come to retake his true personality and get rid of the trappings of his success, which he feels have taken him to far from himself. He's both characters in the vid, but he's getting rid of the artificial him.

Omg I'm so glad you commented that lol I know he's new to this so I don't blame him, everyone makes that mistake, but hearing Yoongi's names pronounced like he said is just...😬 so thank you thank you 😂👌🏾
This is first of his trilogy. All about fighting against blocks or barriers. In Daechwita Rebel street Suga uses his beat to gain supporters to overthrow corrupt abusive king Suga ( the old guard in the music inustry) having watching one of the entertaining explaination videos like DKDKTV rice chest refers to a historical king who locked his son in a Rice chest to starve to death. So this is proffessional barriers. The second in the trilogy is HAEGEUM is societal barriers and problems with corrupt cop Suga vs Street thug Suga. The third is AMYGDALA personal barriers. Present day traumatised Suga and historical Suga from his memories. Brilliant creative and compelling.
I think of the rap line, Suga is the one who uses English the least. But he does have collabs on songs with Western artists: two songs with Juice Wrld, All Night (with RM too) for their mobile game BTS World and Girl of my Dreams (for the latest Juice Wrld's posthumous album, can't remember the album title), one with Halsey (SUGA's interlude on her album Manic), two with MAX (Burn it on Agust D's D2 and Blueberry Eyes on MAX's Colour Vision), and a Savage Love remix (with Jungkook and J-hope). I might be forgetting more!
Daechwita is a traditional style Military Music played ahead of the King when he left the Palace to walk the village...So it is like saying "Here comes the King"
The song is amazing prefect🔥 the visual.. the story talen.. the lirick.. the beat.. the flow.. the everything awesome ..incredible .. suga is genius.. he got unique voice.. the best producer.. songwriter.. composer.. masterpiece.. multitalented.. fast rapper.. king swag.. king of stage.. love suga so much 🥰😍💜
You said it...he's a total BEAST! What more do you need to know? He's a genius producer/lyricist. You will not be disappointed if you keep looking into his solo stuff! (or BTS) Honestly, the 3 rappers of BTS are all fantastic!!! And, if you like, the 4 vocalists are absolutely amazing!
It's pronounced Shoe-gah. And it doesn't mean shooting guard in Korean... it's just made up from the first two syllables FROM "SHOOting GUArd". :P There are two different great explanation videos for this if you're interested in learning the what the Korean word-play is and the cultural/historical references... knowing this makes the song hit even harder. One is by DKDKTV and the other by Bookish Theories. "Daechwita" is a tradition style of music that would be played to let the villagers know that the King/Emperor or the royal military was coming though; hence "Play it loud" because he is the KING and he's coming though. :)
To fully appreciate this masterpiece, I'd strongly suggest you watch the explanation video by "Bookish Theories" (don't do DKDKTV's video because they got the meaning wrong for this song). Bookish Theories is not Korean but her video is well researched, the meaning explanation is on point (we know because Suga released a behind the scenes video later where he talks about the song) and she explained several references that was missed by everyone else.
He doesn't speak English so it's hard for him to rap in a sick flow in straight English. But if you're interested to react to more of his Korean rap, I'd suggest his debut song as a solo called "Agust D" (a self-titled track).
The "flexing, I don't need any" is one of my favorite moments. The biggest flex - he's saying he doesn't need to because everyone already knows his name. There's a "who are you kidding, you know who I am" in there. I love it when this man cuts loose. That soft introspective rapid flow is just about my favorite thing ever. You've got a good instinct for what he's trying to say! One of the less-known things about this song is that 대최타 - Daechwita - is so incredibly Korean it can't be translated. And he used a lot of traditional instrumentation to make that beat. He gets accused of being too westernized sometimes. I figure he was doubling down 😁
The rice chest reference relates to the Joseon dynasty where the father/king locked his second born son in a rice chest in the heat of summer. He died! Not sure why, but it’s a famous Korean reference. Sometimes you have to look up these references if you’re interested.
you have to watch next agust d - agust d and then "the last" "people" ",what do you think?" "Girl of my dreams juice wrld ft suga of BTS (Agust d)" ;)) There is much more to Agust d, really a genius, very good, obviously he writes his own raps and produces some of these
I agree - watch the Daechwita explanation video - you will understand better ! Plus don’t worry about long reactions! We ARMYs don’t mind at all ! Thanks for your reaction ! There’s so much more to them - enjoy BTS ! They have so much videos to react to !
Suga is pronounced like 'sugar' or is pronounced like 'shoo' from shooting and 'ga' from guard. Suga (Shu-ga) and Agust D is pronounced like the month of August. It comes from 'Daegu Town SUGA D . T S U G A . Daechwita is pronounced like 'day-chi-ta' (it's said frequently through the song) DKDK TV has an explanation for the video that talks about all the references (most if not all are cultural).. The scar is just for the MV.
Yoongi, aka Suga, plays both roles of the king as well as the commoner. He is the 'mad king' - the blond, who executes any who defy him or complain, and the commoner - the black haired Suga. This MV has the commoner Yoongi 'team up' with the butcher to overthrow the tyrant king Yoongi
Going over the rapline solos from their latest trilogy Persona would be a good introduction to all three rappers. Persona, Shadow and Ego are the songs and inspired by Jungian psychology.
When you said that it’s easy for him to do this verse A Korean rapper explain it to us he says he is mocking The talentless rappers in the industry that they are just like parrots their words been written for them and they just rap them horribly fun fact about suga he’s an underground rapper once he became in a boy band the underground rap society rejected him and because of that he telling them they should thank him for leaving him being around Will stop their existing
this one and Agust D was to his haters who said he was a sell out from being an underground rapper to and idol and that he couldn't be both. he is proving them wrong. also RM from BTS and JHope are also Rappers check them out.
If you pronounce it DESH_IH_TAH you won’t be far off. It translates as ‘great blowing and hitting’ and is traditional ceremonial/military music played to announce the presence of the king or when the army is in motion. He’s essentially confronting his earlier self, the mad king also known as ‘Anger’ from the time of his first mixtape in 2016. The commoner is that angry Agust D tempered by the (slightly) gentler, more worldly Suga, the 2020 incarnation. He has said that he may not have actually ‘killed’ his anger. Min Yoongi is a complex man. Suga is the gentler, more lyrical side of himself, while Agust D is rawer, more angry… Yoongi unleashed. They’re not separate identities, but they are distinct aspects of himself. Suga is his persona within BTS, he goes by Suga (of BTS) when collaborating with other artists outside BTS as a producer or feature, and Agust D is his solo persona where he can be completely naked (metaphorically). The song Daechwita and video are packed with symbolism and historic and cultural reference. I think you’d enjoy watching at least one of the explanation videos from Bookish Theories or DKDKTV.
As Suga of BTS he aligns with the group's styles. As AgustD, he is his raw, unedited self - with the understanding that these are his opinions and do not reflect on the other members. BTS is unique in the way they exist simultaneously as a group and as individuals.
If you like this...check also BTS raplines Ugh and Ddaeng live performance but make sure to check the explanation of these 2 songs at DKDKTV channel because it's not your ordinary rap song...it's more than than and it has a deeper message. Youncan also check DKDKTV's channel for the explanation of Daechwita. You may want to check their Cypher series (1,2,3 & 4)
There was a Joseon king who killed his son by burying him in a giant chest filled with rice. A big part of Korean lore. The Joseon dynasty lasted for 500 years.
RM, also from BTS is a first class rapper, and with his genius IQ, is a master wordsmith. Joke and Do You, are two of his, definitely worth checking out. But to be completely honest, anything from BTS rap line is top tier, and worth checking out. But to get an idea of the genius behind their lyrics, you really need to also do the explanation videos from DKDKTV, to get all the cultural references and symbolism they use. Jhope is the 3rd rapper from BTS, and is known for his mastery of flows and melodic rapping. Enjoy………

You've been reacting to BTS lately. AT 3:14 the guy he runs into that flips around and bumps another guy and they get into a fight. Those are two of his bandmates in a little cameo. The one with the fishing rod and moustache is Jin, the other is Jungkook, the oldest and youngest members of BTS respectively. Suga is the second oldest member, about 3 months younger than Jin.
After awhile you forget your reading lyrics and you think your totally understanding Korean. And you will begin to understand it as you go along. Seems to me a lot of the teenagers pick up Korean so easy. Love your reactions

Please react to the rap line of BTS so you can see that all 3 rappers are amazing. They made 4 Cyphers, each a masterpiece in itself but listening to one after the other you hear the progression of rap styles through time as well. My favourite is Cypher 2, RM kills his verse and Suga's tongue technology as he calls it is incredible. I prefer J Hope in Cypher 3. Cyphers are diss tracks to their haters. Then Outro: Tear shows their ability to convey strong emotion of their feelings when they were thinking of disbanding each feeling a different emotion. The live version either at Wembly or in Seoul are unbelievable. And when they are live it is real, no lip synching. Borahae💜

Suga….pronounced like sugar but without the R .
I might be forgetting more!
yeaaah suga like sugar
Daechwita is a traditional style Military Music played ahead of the King when he left the Palace to walk the village...So it is like saying "Here comes the King"
The song is amazing prefect🔥 the visual.. the story talen.. the lirick.. the beat.. the flow.. the everything awesome ..incredible .. suga is genius.. he got unique voice.. the best producer.. songwriter.. composer.. masterpiece.. multitalented.. fast rapper.. king swag.. king of stage.. love suga so much 🥰😍💜
King Suga brought a sword to a gun fight.
The fact that you did a little research about who your reacting to is just so amazing 😊 you nice keep going.
It's not Agust D vs Suga. It is a metaphor. He plays both parts and he kills off part of his own personality.
Mic drop is a must watch.
you have to watch next agust d - agust d and then "the last" "people" ",what do you think?" "Girl of my dreams juice wrld ft suga of BTS (Agust d)" ;)) There is much more to Agust d, really a genius, very good, obviously he writes his own raps and produces some of these
the SUGA KING of the past dynasty meets the SUGA KING of the future
I agree - watch the Daechwita explanation video - you will understand better ! Plus don’t worry about long reactions! We ARMYs don’t mind at all ! Thanks for your reaction ! There’s so much more to them - enjoy BTS ! They have so much videos to react to !
Loved seeing this reaction 👏🏻 Suga is my bias and seeing you so excited was great 👌🏻
Daechwita doesn’t have an English translation because it’s a type of military music usually played during official ceremonies.
pls also react to Shadow by Suga !!!
Suga is pronounced like 'sugar' or is pronounced like 'shoo' from shooting and 'ga' from guard. Suga (Shu-ga) and Agust D is pronounced like the month of August. It comes from 'Daegu Town SUGA D . T S U G A . Daechwita is pronounced like 'day-chi-ta' (it's said frequently through the song)
DKDK TV has an explanation for the video that talks about all the references (most if not all are cultural)..
Bts have 3 all english songs, all 3 was nr 1 at Billboard 100, Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance
BTS’ music is very deep lyrically. If Army says you should watch an explanation video, please listen. We will not steer you wrong.
Please watch the explanation video to this song by DKDKTV. There are a lot of cultural references in his lyrics and the music video.
The 2 guys that fight behind Suga is Jungkook and Jin from Bts
He has a Mv called Augustd check it out he is one off the songwriters and producer in the group
"S" in Suga is "savage"
As Suga of BTS he aligns with the group's styles.
As AgustD, he is his raw, unedited self - with the understanding that these are his opinions and do not reflect on the other members.
BTS is unique in the way they exist simultaneously as a group and as individuals.
Hiya Spuddy! 💜😊
@@KathySwampQueen back at-cha Couch Potato!
“Daechwita”it’s a product that is used in Korea to kill insects 💜💜💜💜💜
hahahahaha makes sense why he use this title to diss haters
If you like this...check also BTS raplines Ugh and Ddaeng live performance but make sure to check the explanation of these 2 songs at DKDKTV channel because it's not your ordinary rap song...it's more than than and it has a deeper message. Youncan also check DKDKTV's channel for the explanation of Daechwita. You may want to check their Cypher series (1,2,3 & 4)
The "w" is silent in Daechwita. It is pronounced De-ji-ta. It is the music the play when the king enters a place
SUGA the fastest RAPPER
YOU NEED TO REACT TO 'AGUST D' by AGUST D hahaha, IT GONNA BLOW YOUR MIND!!!
if u want a better understanding of this song, watch Daechwita explained by a korean on youtube !!
There was a Joseon king who killed his son by burying him in a giant chest filled with rice. A big part of Korean lore. The Joseon dynasty lasted for 500 years.
Just a word for the YT algorithm 😉 Because I like how you get immerged in the videos you watch!😊
Enjoy………
OHHHH! YESSIR 😄! MUCH RESPECT!!! TOOO! GOOD! RIGHT 👍💜😜😻

Love Your reactions, you rock
I loved reaction💗
I'm new to your channel and I like your reactions and lyric digestion 😂.
Mama 2017 got Cypher and Mic Drop together. Both Diss tracks to the max
Your reaction was very enjoyable 💜
its AGUST'D. SUGA from DAEGU TOWN
Loved your reaction 😆
After awhile you forget your reading lyrics and you think your totally understanding Korean. And you will begin to understand it as you go along. Seems to me a lot of the teenagers pick up Korean so easy. Love your reactions
AGUSTD
You amuse me. 😆
Reaction suggestion PSY That That featuring Suga and which Suga also produced!
A lil help…. (You probs know by now but…) Suga is pronounced = Shoe’guh 💜🤭
Loving your enthusiasm so far, just found your channel ☺️
SUGA is pronounces as Shoo-Ga (from SHOOting GUArd) or simply SUGA'R' without the 'R'
Please I need your reaction to Agust D by Agust D, yes the music is also called Agust d

Thanks for enjoying Agust D's song.
Agust D 어거스트 디 is one of the three rappers of BTS 방탄소년단.💜 I hope you also listen to RM and J-Hope's songs. You'll find out how different colors are from each of the three, and how well the three rap lines from BTS fit each other in rapping. You only saw one side of Suga today. I hope you can meet Suga's various faces. Would you like to jump deep into BTS' rabbit hole?😘 Thank you 💜 감사합니다 💜
👍👍💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
If you like rap I suggest you CYPHERS 1,2,3,and 4 you will enjoy 💜💜💜💜💜

2 guys fighting are Jin and Jungkook of BTS........please react to "Daechwita explained by a Korean " by DKDKTV 💜💋💜💜💜💜💜The explanation is in English .............There is also a behind the scenes shooting sketch
YOU SHOULD ALSO REACT TO BTS RM [RAP MONSTER] . RM IS THE LEADER OF BTS. REACT TO HIS MV "JOKE" AND JHOPE "BOY MEETS EVIL, AND "ARSON" THANKS
You have to react to Agust D by Agust D... Is amazing!
Agust-D pronounced August - Dee with Suga pronounced SHu-gah. Just an FYI. Thanks for the reaction :)
your reaction was awesome💜💜I recommend you to react to their songs called cypher.
cypher 1,2,3,4. four parts and its just the rapline of bts and these are literally amazing🔥🔥🔥 and you can react to agustd- "agustd", the song itself called "agustd". same with his name.
Borahae💜
I believe Gwanghae was a king in back in the old day
