Karnival Sukan Staf UiTM Cawangan Selangor KASSUS 2023 Highlights

The UiTM Selangor Staff Sports Carnival 2023 (Kejohanan Karnival Sukan Staf Uitm Cawangan Selangor) was conducted on 11th to 26th February 2023 at UiTM Puncak Alam campus. Organised by the Sports Unit, UiTM Selangor branch, the tournament was participated by more than 1000 staffs from five uitm campuses namely UiTM Puncak Alam, Puncak Perdana, Dengkil, Selayang and Sungai Buloh. On this occasion, the Faculty of Pharmacy has sent a total of 32 staff to compete in 5 sports, including volleyball, netball, badminton, table tennis and petanque.
The program aimed to encourage active participation of staff in sports activities and promote healthy lifestyle within the UiTM Selangor campus community. In line with UiTM's vision to uphold the sustainability agenda, KASUSS 2023 supports the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which is "Good Health and Well-being". UiTM Selangor campus is also in the process of planning various sports programs which emphasise on the elements of togetherness and unity which indirectly is hoped will enhance the happiness index among staff. KASUSS 2023 served as a pilot program of this initiative and is expected to continue for the coming years as an annual program at UiTM Selangor. The successful program concluded with a prize-giving ceremony by Associate Professor Dr. Badrul Isa, the Deputy Rector (Student Affairs).
The Faculty of Pharmacy contingent did the faculty proud by finishing among the Top 10 contingents overall with five medals in total. One silver medal was contributed by the men's volleyball team and four bronzes were contributed by netball, table tennis and badminton men’s doubles. The outstanding performance is a result of the athletes’s hard work and dedication as well as the reflection of the Faculty's commitment in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among its staff. Overall, KASUSS 2023 was a success, and has served as an excellent platform for staff to showcase their athletic skills while promoting camaraderie and healthy competition among the participating teams.
