The crazy thing about Greg, is he really hasn't changed at all. In the first season, he is an under achiever, lying about helping a homeless hitch hiker to hide his bad behavior (getting so high before work that he threw up). He then offers to leverage his grandpa's vote on the board with his, claiming it could be more advantageous for Logan, in order to secure a position in the company. Then later, he was quick witted enough to secretly make copies of the documents Tom made him shred -- then when he and Tom burned the copies, he salvaged what he could and tried ro record himself as evidence. By the end of the season he's dangling those same documents to Kendall. And that's just the first season! Greg has always been a somewhat spineless little opportunist. The only thing that's changed has been what he has access to. Greg's journey isn't a showcase of how money changes a person, but how money and power can magnify those inherent flaws we all have.
I genuinely think I could have ended up like Greg in another world.. It's easier than you'd think. I have a well-off grandfather who grew up dirt-poor in the 40s to Jehovas witness parents, he then left at 15 and "worked his way upwards" until he "briefly" made a lot of money in the 70s-90s as the ceo of a morally dubious food related company. Since I was as young as 5 years old he would show me sportscars, motorcycles, drive me around fancy houses telling me how I could have those one day if I work hard like him, he had stuff from all around the world, his own tennis courts, house abroad etc and I basically thought he was the coolest person on the planet. BUT then he retired to sit on all his money and I mainly grew up with my single mom very far away who was not well off since my grandpa didn't share anything and doesn't believe in birthdays so we grew up struggling more than you'd think. I never even flew on a plane until I was 14 and my mom was driving a used Skoda most of my childhood. So for many years as a young teen my only goal in life was to make money and get success like he did. I pretty much ignored most of everything else and it did sorta work for a time and I was making good money as early as 17 until I got burnt out and depressed.. Now that I'm in my late 20s I'm probably more like Ewan and I regret focusing so much on money because it just brought me stress, anxiety and regrets more than it gave me happiness or any fulfilment. Plus it's not even close to as easy getting jobs and a home nowadays as it was back then.. My point is I think if you grow up in certain families, it's very hard to break out and avoid that temptation when they dangle it in front of you your whole childhood. That's why I think he's such a well written character, because outside of the comedic shell he represents so many young men (and women) with ambition who grow up thinking money/success is the main goal in life and they won't realize until they're older that there is much more to life than that. (Social media also adds onto this) But I definitely agree that it was always ingrained in him, even if it was just a tiny part from his mom who grew up around that sort of personality. I don't think being rich or successful was an active goal of Greg though until he got his first taste at Logan's birthday but I think he always kinda was coasting by not stressing cuz he knew he would get that *eventual greenpeace* money when he was older. (The most ironic part is my Grandfather watched Succession and thinks Logan is a horrible person and father)
Interesting take. Greg obviously did not grow with that level of wealth. My guess is very well off, private school down the line, maybe his mom kept him from being too spoiled, but not sure he is exactly turning against the economic class he came from. But he does know better, why else even mention a soul. Tom more so.
Almost forgot this episode introduced us to the Disgusting Brothers until Shiv mentioned it. Would have liked to see the initial reaction but I know this episode packed with good moments so its hard for everything to make it, oh well, loving that y'all finally made it to one of the all-time greatest seasons of television
I really hope after they finish the show they react to all the fan edits like If succession was a romcom with Greg and Tom. Those edits are so good lol
Team Ken let’s go! A win is a win. It’s crazy how intertwined their lives are that the children still need their dad’s attention by messing with his plans and Logan obviously misses the children too. It’s kind of like a long distance relationship within their own toxic abusive environment. Not Tom offering break up se*, is that a thing?!
Logan definitely missed the kids here. I think a lot of people focus on the kids fumbling with Logan and the company but Logan is also human and has many flaws that he reflects on. We don't see him break down or fall apart like the kids but he still makes mistakes and over plays his hand. The fact that he didn't think his kids would want to get back at him after what he did and said to them in the season 3 finale is crazy though. He didn't even think they'd be his rival bidders and with the GoJo deal going through, they have the money to do it.
Tomelette and Ichabod Crane climbing on up, love this season. *The disgusting broooothers* **ka-ching** 💰 BTW you guys should remember that Pierce said no to Logan's $21B offer in season 2 so $10B isn't really them "winning" more than it is them being very desperate. They want to exit the industry so bad that a price point they would have laughed at back then now has Nan begging billionaire style. (oh no what comes after 9 oh no dear heavens pls stop going up! ) This episode also made me realize how Karl has been underused, he's so funny out of nowhere. It really catches you off guard with his beanpole comment but his "I'm having a panic attack" was also comedy gold back in Turkey. Wish him and Hugo had more screentime.
Logan is alone, but the other billionaires in the show are not. Logan's tragedies are about him, not his money. He would be just as much of a monster if he were poor. The only difference is the amount of damage he can do and the pain he can inflict. People are people. The real problem with billionaires is not something inherent to that group, but the fact that they are made up of people with all the good and bad that comes with us.
Hii, loved your reaction as always. You should check out "my lady jane". It's a great series and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one.
This just show how clueless the kids are. Roman has good instincts, but is way too easily influenced. Two other - pathetic. They are throwing around billions not knowing the value of money, overpaying for a failing business just to spite their dad. They would clean up all of their capital for the buyout, and not have neither the addidional assets to restructure PGN, nor the knowledge / people, nor the potential of savings if an other media group (like Logan's) would buy PGN. They overpaid like a bunch of bozos, and will not have any funds to invest into saving of PGN...
In case someone missed: Nan is incredibly hypocritical. She’s actually disgusting. In this regard, Logan might be better. At least he’s straightforward… some times😂.

"what comes after nine? Is it nine b?" LMFAO Rome roasting the person that he's trying to buy from is fricking hilarious
I agree with Rana, Greg was the worst cause the others didn't know better but greg is a class traitor
OMG! It's not often I see a reaction channel reacting to another reaction channel! I love your videos!

"class traitor" - what are you, a commie?
Aw, you cut out Tom dragging Greg's date over her "ludicrously capacious bag"! That's a classic Tom moment.
You could take it camping. You could slide it across the floor after a bank job.
@@johnjungkook2721 I mean, what's even IN there? 😄
Greg might be spineless, but he at least he roasted Logan unlike the others.
Oh nooooo they skipped over the classic “ludicrously capacious bag” line 😭
"Oh, butter my beanpole"
🤣
I could get nothing more from Succession than Greg and Tom’s arc and that would be all I needed.
Almost forgot this episode introduced us to the Disgusting Brothers until Shiv mentioned it. On the rewatch, I see that the final Tom and Shiv scene here parallels the shot in the finale
My favorite thing ever might be every time Chris screams at Greg.

The end is nigh and I'm sad for it.😢
That Logan Roy. He's so rich, when he goes flying, his wallet is considered oversize luggage. B-dm PSH!
I’ve gained a lot of respect with the Falco jersey
I love Ranas fit so much omg
Close to episode 3!!!

why do yall do this
@@thepimp31 they already saw the episode weeks ago, it's fine
Wait till episode 3, Normies. You thought The Rains Of Castamere was peak television, oooo boy

Yes. Yes. ISTG that show is so underrated.
Greg has ALWAYS been a trash individual.
Exactly, was never an every man. That is laughable. Obviously his grandpa is not the spoiling type, but I doubt Greg’s mom was struggling
