I severely herniated L4/L5 and L5/S1. DDPY.com made a huge difference for me. That plus LATER ON straight leg deadlifts, reverse hypers, basically anything lower back/core stength related. And if surgery is still a necessity, it's awesome to know this is an option!
Dude I had the same surgery and after many, many knee and ankle surgeries I will still maintain that the disc replacement was the best decision I’ve ever made. Give it time, you’ll be there in no time

I've dealing with severe neck and lumbar degenerative disc disease and I'm at the end of my rope with the pain and radiculopothy and sciatic pain and the vertebrae rubbing on each other and it's impossible to get adequate pain control even though I have a legitimate need for it, it's enough to push people over the edge and I'm sure it has for some, my 15 year old son is the only thing keeping me around and it's a time of his life he needs an active father. Hopefully I can find a surgeon in Missouri that does it. Thanks for the information

@@scottbpac yes it will make a ton of noise for a few months. It’s normal it’s annoying and feels real weird but it’s normal. I’m about 2 1/2 months into recovery and it doesn’t really do it anymore. It takes six months for it to fuse completely

I herniated those as well a year and a half ago. Look into a reverse hyper it will change your life they’re kind of expensive to try and find someone that has one but they are life-changing for lower back spinal issues

Your discs don't surround the spinal cord, think of the vertebrae like an 8, the back side is where the cord passes through, and the front is solid, where it rides on the disk. Hope that makes some sense
What caused the disc's to dissipate?. Do you have degenerative bone issues? What did the Dr tell you why this happened Ryan? My dad had the same shit in 2002 and the fused him all together. The surgery barely worked and he was in worse pain than before he had the surgery. Glad your on the mend dude. Your a beast
Fusion is brutal it usually causes more problems than anything else. I have degenerative disc syndrome, which if I was to fuse I would just have to fuse my whole neck eventually.

I took it over the edge in 2018 the whole west side of my body died I lost my left tricep pack and left muscle completely. Went through three epidurals in my neck a bunch of physical therapy it got a little better but I’ve had about four years of hellacious pain, once I started riding wheelies on that bagger pulling it up just destroyed what was left of my neck, and that was that
I had the same thing done a year at 30yrs old and like you said it made the world of a difference. All the pain went away almost right away. Worst part was that 6months of down time to heal up fully. Was up an walking around 45min after surgery.
