What an awesome idea!!!! Having them(boys) pick out the color they wanted without knowing it was for themselves very clever!! Hopefully owning their own rod along with their tackle boxes, they will want to take care of it and not break it. I know they're young but they already care about how their tackle boxes are. Stay Safe & God Bless!!
That’s a great idea Matt! I bet your kids will love them. I got my 7 year old a 7 foot rod and it’s too big for her, something like this would fit her better. Thanks for listing the components!
Those boys are blessed to have a dad that's a professional rod builder, I know they will be ecstatic on Christmas morning with those rods, I know I would be, they will cherish those rods for the rest of their lives I'm sure of it! 😎👍🎣
Always wished I had a knack for building stuff ! Especially my own rods! But since I seem to be able to fix people better than stuff I better stick to my day job LOL This was a great Christmas gift idea! Thx for sharing!
That's a great thing you have done for the boy's. Giving them a rod they dreamed of in their minds. Plus nothing better than gifting them something you have built. Awesome.
I’ve built several rods on CRB blanks. End up with a real nice rod at a good price. I believe my trout rod is a CRB 601. Used a TN handle on CRB guide set, easy build.
What a great idea, Im going to build my grandkids their own also, they tend to like the best rods I have built for myself and they were like yours high end rods! I think this might be the solution because you know Grandpa cant say no… lol!!! Great job on the rods and great idea!!!
That’s awesome of you! One day I will get into rod building but for now I stick to Shimano and g loomis. Can’t wait to build a rod for my little girl when she’s old enough to start fishing with daddy.
Give yourself a Christmas gift and as soon as those kids are old enough teach them how to put guides on poles so they can fix your rods when you have to replace them! I love making rods but fixing broken ones is a pain in the buttocks...that's where your kids come in:) Merry Christmas!
That's cool stuff, Matt. These are rods they can keep the rest of their lives. They'll definitely appreciate them even more when they get older if they still have them.
Brings back memories of fishing with my grandfathers and my dad. Question not related to today's video...what lures and presentations do you tie a loop knot to your baits?
that's is just awesome. I can't wait to start building my own cause you have inspired me too. just have to wait till I have the room to do so. until then I'll just have to buy them already made. just picked up 2 different ark pro Lancer rods on sale. buy 1 for a hundred and get the other for 19. Can't beat that.
That was great. They're going to love them. I plan on doing some rod builds myself. Maybe I should start with something cheaper like those before the nice MHX builds.
I know the feeling, but I went the way of ugly stick. Twice the price but you can't beat their guarantee. Just don't touch my rods. The grandson even has his own hip roof tackle box, stocked with worms and cranks "n" stuff.
I need to replace my spinning rod tip but the normal Fujii 3 piece set doesn't have a small enough tip. What's a good budget option for spinning rod tips that come in smaller sizes?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder……I’d say them boys will disagree about not be the most beautiful rods ….. black with a little color will b out of style one day
🍺Very cool. Your efforts will result in numerous life long memories with your boys.👍
thats the plan!

iM LOOKING FORWARD TO THEM USING THEM!
Hey Elf Matt in your North Pole Workshop nice job they look great.
Awesome, thank you!
Those are a couple of lucky guys! That's sorta like Eddie Van Halen building a guitar for his kids.
HAHAHAH!1
I built my kids rods on the same exact blanks. They fish pretty nice
Awesome! thanks for sharing!
That's a really good idea!!!
thanks!
Please give us updates on expressions and the fun they have.
Will do!

One Christmas the boys will remember for a lifetime....Now what reels are you going to use on them?
They will get a couple of Abu Garcias!
That's cool stuff, Matt. These are rods they can keep the rest of their lives. They'll definitely appreciate them even more when they get older if they still have them.
haha! i hope they dont break them right away...they have a knack for snapping them
Brings back memories of fishing with my grandfathers and my dad. Question not related to today's video...what lures and presentations do you tie a loop knot to your baits?
i generally do not throw a loop knot. When I do it usually on a wake bait.
Fantastic job, Dad.👍🎣
Thanks 👍

Love your tackle room

You're a good dad Matt.

Terrific job, Matt! That is an awesome hobby, and you do it well.

Great job Dad.
Thanks!
Good job and good stuff.
Thanks!

THis is a great way and inexpensive way to learn building!
Certainly will give them some ownership and investment in “their” rod. But also, great dad stuff. Kudos
thanks!
They will remmed them. Go going from Dad. Be blessed!!!
thanks!
Those are equal to my "tournament grade" rods :)
that works too!
I know the feeling, but I went the way of ugly stick. Twice the price but you can't beat their guarantee. Just don't touch my rods. The grandson even has his own hip roof tackle box, stocked with worms and cranks "n" stuff.
Awesome!
Are those Nubins, just for grips?
those are nubins

check out mudhole.com. plenty of tips available for a few bucks each
@@MattStefanFishing bet thanks bro
If you let me(a bass junior series competitor ) pick a rod your bank account would look about 2000 dollars short! 😂😂😂
haha!
Will mudhole build the rod for you? Or are they all "build at home" rods?
no they will not
I have 5 kids. Lol. There still gonna fight over them. Lol. Awesome deal thow
hahahaha! i can dream cant i!
Yes you can. Lol. Without dreams what would this world be.
👍👍👍👍👍
thanks for watching!

Any rod that works well is a gift that keeps giving. Oh you wouldn't know.
