This video didn't age well :( Raspberry Pi shortage makes this a very expensive solution today. Still a very clever solution!
Thank you. This Tutorial worked perfectly with Canon Pixma MG 2500 and Raspberry Pi4 B. Only extra step is to login to pi desktop and install the printer manually via nice and easy UI setup. Once done, you can see Canon is listed as maker in the dropdown list in Samba setup for Cups printing.

Thanks for video. can I set up this for my printer HP LaserJet MFP M1005 ? And please tell, how fast this system to start print once command given, I mean is there any delay for start printing after print command or will printer start immediatelly start printing ? Asking this because I installed this printer on Synology NAS , but when I start printing printer takes long time to start printing. I'm on windows 10 and will move to 11 in next future.
It works similarly to any wireless printer. Similar delays as you will experience in a wireless printer. It starts printing almost immediately as soon as you send the print command. This is faster than your SynologyNAS. You can also use Raspberry Pi Zero 2W for the project. And yes, the printer is supported

I have successfully made my printer wireless on windows 7 but on windows 10 when I add printer its driver automatically set to Microsoft IPP Class Driver which doesn't allow me to print also how can I use scanner wirelessly too which is available on the same printer ? No, start it and use it. You need to set it up once. Also, install SANS to use the scanner if your printer supported.

(cupsctl:unable to connect to server:Bad file descriptor) how to ressolve it? I think this is the reason not printing any thing with my printer.

After adding printer successfully in cups ui..when I print test page i get error Missing Printer Driver :
“Printer ’Canon_4’ requires the ‘/usr/lib/cups/filer/rastertoufr2’ program but it is not currently installed.”
