The stopper will grind down nicely and be able to be used again. I was the quality controller for Caithness Glass here in Crieff Perthshire Scotland. Now, we had a huge market for paper weights and art glass in America. There was a club that used to come over to Scotland and one guy bought out an entire case of limited edition lampwork pieces. These most beautiful works of art can go upwards of £600 - 800 sterling. I would be amazed if you did not come across such pieces for sale. Peter Mc Dougal is a name to look out for. His Milliefiori weights were made to order for collectors in the USA. His brother Callum used to make the canes by stretching them out with another fabulous glassman that I worked along side. Fantastic bunch of talented designers and creators.
Hello. New to your videos, and u seem so knowledgeable. While still having fun! You're teaching me a lot. I'm in California and have a question, if you have time: does Drexel furniture, Triune dresser, specifically, have a decent resell value? I've accumulated quite a few items that I want to sell but have never really done it. There are so many platforms, and I'm just nervous to try. You seem so confident. I need to take that leap. So if u happen to have a spare minute to respond, it would make my day! If not, I'll still be glued to my TV and UA-cam. Thank you
My favorite part of this video was watching Peaches in the background playing Dexter with the surgical tools while Rusty was talking jewelry finds. Sorry Rusty, I was completely distracted. That cocktail shaker is a great unicorn.
Peaches all those large sockets & the Deep sockets, they don't come in sets, so if you want to take off hoods of cars, or other pieces you're going to need sockets, along with a wrench to hold them, deep sockets usually are for working on engine parts, been a long time since I tore anything down with my daddy, if we didn't help fix it we didn't get to drive it... the coolest car he ever had was a 1960 300 SL soft top roadster. .. I was a young cool thing then, and I could wear a tube top and look like I was driving naked... he also took me out to the 91 freeway I think back then it was the Richard Nixon Memorial Highway between Marina Del Rey and Ladera Heights & taught me how to drive into skids to right the car.. straight... my folks passed away they had another house in Arizona, but I retained a lot of the hand tools, just haven't gotten to listing them... mostly Craftsman some off Brands but Craftsman does sell... the nice thing about the Aging Fleet of Mercedes is once you got the hood off mostly you could just identify every single thing on the engine and take it off easily... except for the 300 SL it was fuel injected oil cooled... he brought that thing home on a trailer and work took off from the job and had it running in about 12 hours, it had to go to Don Ricardo in Pasadena to have the injection system worked out...LAXVESPA-LOSANGELS
We are from Bradenton and while we were down in May my father-in-law was in the hospital at Sarasota Memorial and we estate saled and Thrifted the entire time while we were there during non-visitor hours I wish we had done this when we were younger but it’s a beautiful area and lots of opportunities for great deals!!
That is indeed a Parker pen set. The easiest way to figure out what the size of the nib is on the fountain pen is to dip it. What you do is dip the tip of the pen (not too far up or you have a mess to clean up!) in a bottle of ink, then you can scribble on a piece of paper just as if you were using a quill back in the old days. The size of the line in the scribbling will show you the size of the nib is I'm guessing about 90% likely that it's a Medium, since that's what most people use. If you're interested in how to clean that sucker and load it to see if it works, get in touch with me and I'll type it all out for you. A working pen is going to be worth quite a bit more than "for restoration." And don't forget to buy a new Parker refill for the ballpoint pen (go with blue ink, medium) so that it's "working" and ready to go for your customer out of the box. Same with the pencil if you have the right size leads hanging around the warehouse. Most times I don't for those old pencils because I use the very tiny leads and they don't fit in those instruments. The little horn: what you have there, whether it's a real one or a decorative reproduction, is a fox hunting horn. That's the horn that the Master of the Hounds would carry, to sort of guide the dogs and keep them together in a pack while the hunt is going on. The two pieces inside are like reeds in a woodwind instrument that should vibrate and make sound (try "humming" into it and see what you get.) The horn only makes one "note" so it's not something you'd play tunes with, just keep the hounds' attention.
Rusty, you might want to look at the Hobe necklace. It looked like there were missing tassels on the pendant. There was only one but there were rings on each side of that tassel. Could the earrings be the missing tassels? Awesome video so far!
Hi Rusty, some bit of information for you: That cameo is most likely conch shell as are the majority of bead necklaces on ebay that are described as angle skin coral. I also only recently learned this after studying coral and being confused that these typical " angel skin coral" beads with their layers and rings of color dont show up anywhere. Turns out they are carved shell. Wherever you have this clear separation of color like in your cameo, it is not coral but shell(conch or helmet shell(darker and more brown)). In some cases it is very hard to tell however, especially when the piece is only one color. Further more, angel skin coral actually refers only to a very rare albino variety of corallium elatius (also called momo, or other names) from the pacific. There are other coral species with a lighter color that arent actually angel skin coral. Coral is a tricky subject but identifying precious from nonprecious and pacific from mediteranean is about all the market really cares about and is necessary :)

Thank you Rusty and Peaches. I've not seen you properly before great fun and interesting.
Beautiful photos Peaches. I have zero photos of my childhood and teen years. It saddens me to see old photos in thrift stores of people and places .
You both have amazing enthusiasm and energy. Just so inspirational 😊

My fave, too! Finished watching in hopes of hearing about that find. I always buy medical and dental tools and make decent $$.

Yes, sometimes we just need some "me time".

Hope you wore some sunblock, or you'd go back up like boiled lobsters!
Drink more water, you are dehydrating if you don't.

Florida is the worst place. To get antiques. Every state is better. I hope your going to do ok.
