Awesome video. Such a huge help!!! been looking at a broken inside pane for a year because I was unconfident of replacing by myself. Thanks so much!!!! Tackled this window and it came out perfect!!!

Your instructional video was amazing. I was installing a new window when the wind blew the window from the frame and broke the glass. Your instructions took all the stress out of installing the new glass. I would have no idea how to do it without your video.

I do this for a living, and have a tip on pulling stops, just use a flat knife and wedge out stops from opposite end, not where you lifted with pliers, and please wear gloves.
You did excellent work, in fact I loved your idea on starting the glazing tape that way, that was so good!
Never seen that done before, my tip is pull all blue strip then lightly spray with glass cleaner and plant the IG unit, it will move freely for adjustments while I put the stops on and once dried it sticks.
    Great video!!!

Thanks for the advice but flat knives are not tempered to be used on glass and gloves are for women

I also found out that pulling with the pliers was very hard and crimped the stop. Instead opted to loosen the stops by running the putty knife both on the glass side, flat...then on the edge where the stop is against the frame, pushing in at an angle which seemed to loosen the other stops without damage.

This guy does a great job of detailed explanation and demonstration. complete with tape size of 7/16" Wide 1/16" Thick.....double sided Tape..dang....I got my window done in less then an hour but a smaller window....not a fan of Milgard as the small windows spontaneously break because of temperature changes from indore to out door...and in San Diego area of mild weather.

Use a 5 in one small chisel to pop the snap bead. Mitered or butt cut snapbead it dont matter much mitered are a bit more tricky. works way better that lineman pliers... wigling it back and forth. Smh. Ok ur a carpenter i forgive you. 😅
Yah bro take a flathead even bout 35 degree angle at the joint away from glass obviously palm of ur hand whack the screw driver 9 times out if ten works then pry slowly you dont bury the tool either just get a bite on the interlock of the snapbead and pry gently. At most a tiny blemish from the tool. But with newer service windows. Should be easy. Replacing windows? Dont count on deglaing to be easy. Hope this helps

Thanks for this video. I've been looking forever for a video such as this one. I just needed to figure out how to get the glass out. You've done a great job explaining it.

Wow - Thx for sharing - This is pretty amazing process to see 1st hand.
Milgard lifetime guarantee - they're sending crew out next mo to replace 5 dual-glazed we purchased in 2002 that all failed. So Happy I kept all the paperwork!

Thank you Crowman for sharing. @Milguard windows & Doors ⬇️ Why would I call you to pay hundreds of dollars for something I can do myself? You do not stand by your warranty and I would never spend a dime at Milguard or even waste my time calling you so I can get the run around.

I have just the opposite interaction with Milgard. I have had two windows leak and although it took a few weeks to have them come out, they have replaced them 20 years after install. No problem

How much does Milgard charge to install it? The glass is under the warranty but not install.

Video should have been shot on an installed window. Who installs new pane on a removed window? Show viewers how to use spacers on the bottom, to center the glass, in the frame. Anyone installing a pane, test fit before your remove the paper from the double-stick tape.

I was going to reply “there is so much wrong with your statement” but that would mean something is right. Your information is 100% wrong and if I were to guess I’d say you merely skimmed through the video. You must’ve. There’s no way you could think that anything in your statement has any truth to it, whatsoever, if you actually watched the video from beginning to end. Unless of course you’re a noob to the work or simply in online troll

If you would actually honor your warranty there would be a need for a video like this. You just denied my request for a fix on a window in my house. You have come and fixed three other windows, but decided that your company couldn’t bother this time around. I either do it myself or get someone else to do it as we have a window upstairs that has MOLD growing in between the panes of glass. Great quality, NOT. Yep, MOLD. Second window to do that in our house. First window had slimy mold at the bottom. Just nasty.

Yep, their warranty is garbage. Had an inside pane crack and was denied warranty coverage. Claiming it’s not a manufacturer defect. If glass breaks, and it wasn’t from something hitting it or the house settling, it’s a defect and/or crap quality. Never going with Migard again. Both my neighbors have had the same issue as well

@@angieschwartz428 I agree, Milgard in '08 started with nice warranty service, couple windows that imploded and a number of others with vapor barrier failing and rusty fingerprints inside the window showed up....all fixed no charge by Milgard. Then a year ago they tried to not honor the warranty, I pushed back and best I got was Milgard offering to give me the glass gratis, but I had to do the work or pay them to come out---so I'm DIYing it the hard way. I live around Tacoma, right by the Milgard factory, a well known staple of the community, job provider and nice benefactors to Hospital and University. Wish they'd stay true to their values.
