my mom used to buy me and my sister one or two ornaments each year since we were five. by the time i got married I had enough ornaments to decorate my tree. and each one has a memory now that my mom has passed.
As an Irish person, I can confirm you made the best choice for stout with Guinness! 🎉 Chocolate cake made with Guinness is amazing, sounds odd but it gives it a lovely rich flavour!
Yes it is amazing! I make this every few months for the bdays of friends. On top there is this creamcheese and suger glace and makes it even more delicious.
With having such a large family...I'm glad to see you have a large pantry & freezer stock. Alot of people don't realise when the flu season hits...you could have kids getting sick at different times up to 3 weeks out. That's when having all that extra food will come in handy. With sick children you won't be leaving the house. Love watching you shop!
It's a lot of work to feed so many children. I give you props for this. It's not easy to do this day after day. Dont put too much guiness in the Irish stew you.ll ruin it use more beef stock thicken with cornstarch mix of water another traditional dish boiled bacon with cabbage and boiled or steamed spuds with half pound of Kerry gold butter on top of the spuds with salt, full irish breakfast is my favourite u should give it a go 😋
Why don’t you buy the staples in bulk ? … flour, rice, beans, sugars, oil and pastas get them delivered right to your door store in air tight tubs.. saves $ and your never out for months…

They don't have boxing day in usa. The 25th seems to be the biggest Christmas day. In Finland we celebrate Christmas December 24. Eat and open presents. Then leftovers on Christmas day and maybe boxing day. I'm glad we don't have Thanksgiving since it's so close to Christmas lol it would feel like too much. Christmas is stressful enough.
If you watch our tribe of many (really like the channel) she purchases a lot on line. All her meat, cheeses, etc. I don’t see them purchase a lot of snacks either.

I lived in Ireland for many years. The stew was thick & had no potatoes in it. Instead, they mashed them & made a circle on the plate with it & put the stew in the middle 🥰. Beef, carrots, LEEKS, parsnips and 🧅 onions. (+OXO cubes / beef bullion) Only the Pubs used beer in the stew. 💐 My secret ingredient was a packet of oxtail soup 🍲 mix. Drool, now I gotta make some. LOL Oh, and Shepherd's Pie is soo yummy too. 🥰 OMG, I think I'm hungry 😂
Ooohh yes thats my secret ingrediant...oxtail soup. My mam makes her stew with potatoes but i prefer mine mashed. I sometimes make meatballs for my stew and put into the slow cooker for 6 hrs. Sooo tasty 🥰

You need to do a freezer and pantry challenge. You have so much food not getting eaten. I am sure you could make a lot of meals with that you have in all those fridge/freezer and food shelves. Be creative and have fun
I have a white dry erase board on all fridges n freezer with a ist of what is in them n chk off when something removed or taken out so I know at all times what I have. same with panty I keep running total so every few months when I shop I know what I need or don't need
I love watching your grocery hauls. I went shopping this week and I ended up with two cards cause I bought another shelving unit to make a panty. Which is awesome cause since moving to the country this way I can stock up for a month.
Maybe for the kids that don't like sports maybe there is fun learning activity like cooking class or photography or painting or pottery class. I don't know how you do all you do. It makes me feel like my life isn't as busy stressful. God bless

It must be much faster to do use several machines to do all of the washing and drying in one go, than having to do individual washes for twelve people. If it were me I’d get rid of the home washer and dryer and use the laundromat all the time. 🙂
When I do cinnamon rolls. I make a half cup of heavy cream and brown sugar and melt a half stick of butter. First melt of stick of butter when add half cup of brown sugar and half cup of heavy cream into a small mixing bowl. Half cup brown sugar to one can of cinnamon rolls and half cup of heavy cream to one of cinnamon rolls and half stick of butter to one can of cinnamon rolls.first put cinnamon rolls in a baking pan. Mix the heavy cream and brown sugar and melt butter together then spoon and the mixer of the heavy cream and brown sugar melt butter all over the cinnamon rolls. Cover the cinnamon rolls and for 10-15 mins cover then take off the cover off the cinnamon rolls and bake for 15-25 mins with the cover off. Bake at 350

Have you ever thought about NOT doing such a large grocery haul for a couple weeks? Just get the necessities like milk and bread. Prepare meals with what you have in stock in your pantry area. It seems like you have very little room for what you have. I bet you could go at least 2 wks on canned goods and pasta.
She should plan meals on the food she has and use some of it up before it expires. I bet she could go a month with her stockpile and only buy perishables.

My mom made me try a few sports as a kid & I didn't enjoy them at all! Since I liked riding my bike & played outside enough she was fine with me not doing sports but encouraged music instead. I definitely think concert band & then marching band instilled the character trains sports do. 💖

Okay, question. Is it normal to use paper bowls and plates instead of ceramic ones? I'm from Belgium and we rarely, if ever, use paper plates.. Is it to lessen the amount of washing up? Isn't it bad for the environment? Been asking myself ever since I've starting watching the Dougherty family.
I think there is a problem with their sewer or something and are waiting for their house to be connected to the public sewers. That's why they don't use dishwasher or washer at home.
It always surprises me how much you buy at the regular store that you could get at Costco or bjs. I’m guessing those places aren’t has handy as the wegmans though. And gas prices….it might not be a savings

Guinness is good. Oddly enough a lot of people think it's German. It's not. Lol. the only 2 snacks i know of that are Irish here in the U.S. is Cadbury (the chocolates) and the Twisted Ice creams both good. I know more Italian snacks, sorry.

I believe it's an issue with the city and connecting to it. It's on the city's time frame I'm guessing.

It must be much faster to do use several machines to do all of the washing and drying in one go, than having to do individual washes for twelve people. If it were me I’d get rid of the home washer and dryer and use the laundromat all the time. 🙂

When I do cinnamon rolls. I make a half cup of heavy cream and brown sugar and melt a half stick of butter. First melt of stick of butter when add half cup of brown sugar and half cup of heavy cream into a small mixing bowl. Half cup brown sugar to one can of cinnamon rolls and half cup of heavy cream to one of cinnamon rolls and half stick of butter to one can of cinnamon rolls.first put cinnamon rolls in a baking pan. Mix the heavy cream and brown sugar and melt butter together then spoon and the mixer of the heavy cream and brown sugar melt butter all over the cinnamon rolls. Cover the cinnamon rolls and for 10-15 mins cover then take off the cover off the cinnamon rolls and bake for 15-25 mins with the cover off. Bake at 350

Have you ever thought about NOT doing such a large grocery haul for a couple weeks? Just get the necessities like milk and bread. Prepare meals with what you have in stock in your pantry area. It seems like you have very little room for what you have. I bet you could go at least 2 wks on canned goods and pasta.
She should plan meals on the food she has and use some of it up before it expires. I bet she could go a month with her stockpile and only buy perishables.
my OCD working overtime. you bought an enormous pack of paper plates at Costco yesterday, and also tons of kidney beans. You also got a lot of cereal and bananas. I wish you could be honest and not overshop an overspend.

Love your videos. You might want to try Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, and Fuji apples for a change, the are all so very tasty. Maybe have a taste test where the kids rank their favorite.
Question why don't you utilize Costco for what they have..like buying your cleaning supplies,cereal and snacks? It's a much better buy

My mom made me try a few sports as a kid & I didn't enjoy them at all! Since I liked riding my bike & played outside enough she was fine with me not doing sports but encouraged music instead. I definitely think concert band & then marching band instilled the character trains sports do. 💖

you can make brn sugar by adding molasses . n I buy the 25lb of flour n 10lb min of sugar n just 3 of us at home but holidays coming n I bake all year n don't buy store bought cookies . I have large squares Tupperware storage containers n it's great and hold 10lbs of each so ez

I think there is a problem with their sewer or something and are waiting for their house to be connected to the public sewers. That's why they don't use dishwasher or washer at home.
Its because of their septic issues

She went to Costco earlier in the week?? Think because she buys too many drinks at Costco she used 2 flat bed carts and a regular cart. I agree she could get lots more there like the meat!

Here’s a Vlog idea….shop from your Garage for a week without going to Wegmans Walmart or wholesale. Reality is that when these kids move out they will need to learn unlimited grocery shopping is not reality.

Guinness is good. Oddly enough a lot of people think it's German. It's not. Lol. the only 2 snacks i know of that are Irish here in the U.S. is Cadbury (the chocolates) and the Twisted Ice creams both good. I know more Italian snacks, sorry.
