If you have a cheap (fake) sd card, expect that it won't work. Those sd cards have strange names (SanDian), "large capacity" and they are cheap. Instead, buy a quality sd card from brands such as SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung, etc.
*Update: Tinfoil 18 just came out and has been added to the pack.
At the time of recording the tutorial I was using hekate 6.1.1 but I included the latest version 6.2.0 in the package (don't be confused by that).

This was a solid entry point for me, super easy to follow and worked immediately.
This guide follows an emuMMC(emulated operating system, basically) that runs off the SD card.
The emuMMC in the video is being created as a file on the SD card (4:40).
From what I read online, the partition method is more fast/more safe in terms of performance and brick protection, respectively.
Was there a reason to use the SD file over the partition? I could be totally wrong! i just started haha. was reading about this on reentry

There are several reasons why I practice SD File based emuMMC. One of them is that I like to keep it simple. And the second is that I have never been able to run Partition based emuMMC on one console. There's nothing I haven't tried to solve that problem and I haven't succeeded. Regarding speed and other things, I didn't notice any difference or have any problems with SD File based emuMMC. It's just a theory for me. So I suggest that you don't bother with unimportant things and do what suits you better. Greetings to you my friend!

In order for it to work on OLED, you must first install the mod-chip. It's a job for an electronics guy.

Yes, you can. But keep in mind that you need at least 64gb for cfw.

Injecting payload is necessary in case of a total power-off, to be able to boot again into Emunand.
Is there anyway to make (Emunand) the default booting by change the boot order somehow😅?
I read about AutoRcm as a method to skip the rcm jig, do you think it's something preferable or not? Any Android app recommendations for injecting payload?

Yes, every time it shuts down completely you have to inject payload and launch cfw. It's not hard, don't be lazy 😀 And don't play with auto rcm! Leave it off.

@saleemrustom5827 You can make a cloud back-up if you have save data on it before you format the sd card. As for the injector, use what suits you.

Hello, I will visit your sea soon! Unfortunately after every shutdown you have to re-inject the payload to be able to launch cfw. But everything remains, you just need help to launch cfw.

@sdgsabobo If you have a v1 Switch that's unpatched (see website in video) then you don't need a modchip.
With v2, OLED, and Lite Switches, the only way to jailbreak is with modchip. And yes it injects the payload for you so you don't have to do it manually like a v1 Switch.

There is no way without hardware modification.

It's temporary until you block nintendo servers with one of the methods. after that turn off airplane mode.

@Edi8RI When you are in cfw, you cannot use nintendo services. You can install game updates using tinfoil. You can contact me on ig, I will help you with that.

After following this guide, I turned the Switch off for the night and now when i turn it back on, its reverted back to normal
Every time you shut it down completely, you have to inject the payload again and launch cfw.

Nice worked, had to install NUT too off tinfoil, but was super easy then, once you locate where to download the game. Although launched the game, doesnt seem to be up to date, but you can cancel the update, launch the game, but then the game seems to want to update in the background which is worrying?
DNS wasnt blocked, so done that again. ah so tries to update in the background now, but not working i think. But before I re-blocked the DNS it was "updating" in the background I think, so have I messed up? Will the switch be banned?
Need to find a more up to date to get the games.
DNS blocking is the first thing you should do after jailbreaking. I hope you were lucky and didn't get banned.

If you try to install the game in cfw, it won't work. You can only use Nintendo services in stock firmware.

Yes, every time you add a new network, you have to repeat the 90dns process. I think that 90dns is quite enough, but if you want additional protection, why not...

It would be best for you to start from the beginning like in the video in order to understand the jailbreak. At the end of the process, you will have emummc, which is a completely separate system and you use it for mods, etc. You also have the stock firmware that you use for online and Nintendo stuff.
So without RCM jig... jailbreak won't be possible?

doesnt work for me, when i try to setup says NO RCM, but RCM is physically in... and when i try to turn on Switch with power button+power up, nothing happens, and when i plug it into PC via cable, automatically turns on
Hold + and press the power button. If it won't detect, maybe you need to install the driver from the settings tab. But first of all, check on the website whether your switch is unpatched. Link in video description.

Hey man im having a problem. I recently got a new sd card and its a 2TB FAT32. I did all the steps but I'm it would show "emuMMC is disabled and eMMC will be used for boot". When i try launching atmosphere it wouldnt work and would show an error.
I'm guessing it's some cheap noname sd card and it won't work

Try with sd partition based emummc but first delete the emummc folder from the sd card. With some consoles, sd file based will not work.

If it says Disabled after creating emuMMC, the sd card is probably bad or of poor quality. Try another one.

Try some web payload injector instead of tegra rcm. You can also complete the entire process using an Android smartphone. You have a tutorial on my channel.
