Take care
Garage changed it for me during the 2.4 update two weeks ago, I never heard the noise but they said it was in very bad shape and said they switched it to a better quality one, id3 first pro 40k kilometers.
Have had the same noice for some time , today my ID.3 1st edition is in for the 2.4 update, and just got noticed that they will keep it for another day to also fix this, (I didn't tell them I had the issue ) I'm so pleased they just fix it.
And Now I see this clip from you, what a coincidence..
Chris you are my ID.3 canary down the mineshaft, thanks for the video. I'll be very sad if you ever change your car before I do 😛
Same. 42000km, Life
These used to go all the time in my old Golf - speed bumps are a big cause if that.
I like the Ding Ding Ding Ding 😅😂
Anti-rolls bar links. Very common on all vw that have them.
Changed that part as well on warranty at 30.000 km
Same sound in my ID3 (nov20)
That's also known as a drop link bar. This is also a common failure with the Renault Zoe.
Nothing unfamiliar, new part from autodoc 25 e
Common issue here in Finland, also in ID.4, funny name for that part in Finnish, koiranluu, dog's bone 🤣
no surprise, heavy car and bad roads are no good friends .. usually suspension is first to show wear and tear.. like shoes on your feet :)
great info thanks for sharing this it was helpful sending you a like
I had another noise from the rear suspension (pro S from October 2020 - 95000 km). Sounded like a click/klonk when accelerating (also sometimes decelerating). I took the workshop 3 attempts to. Find out is was a loose (slightly untightened) driveshaft. I even told them the 2 times earlier it could be this problem as my model 3 had something sounding almost like that
It should be known from VW. Torque is simply so high that it becomes loose.
I have the same issue, thank you for the info as VW could not find any issue or even replicate the noise, even though it is quite easy to reproduce the noise.
In the UK, we call it an "anti-roll bar drop link".
It's common for them to go on all cars due to pot-holes.
Went on mine as well at around 14000mls. Changed both link arms when it went in for 2.4.
Same same
Mine broke a few months ago, after almost 3 years and 35.000 km. The sound could also be as if you have something rattling in the door shelf.
I had the same issue very early on, at about 5000 miles. They changed the rod and it's been fine since. Ours is a November 2020 family model. We also had the squeaky panoramic roof issue, which was lubricated, was ok for another few thousand miles, but has started again when you go over uneven ground. The biggest problem we had was the radio haptic switches, kept buzzing and changing channels randomly and at speed. In the end they had to change the steering wheel to cure it, it is all good now. I think this was a one off glitch. We still love the car, it's a great drive. Thanks for all your info.
You should ask VW why they srent fixing the lightstrip in the back of ID4:s is loose or ascew on many cars. I took my ID4 to the dealer snd askes them to fix it because alot of water is going in but they said that since there isnt an official fix they wont do anything about it. Feel a bit helpless… what can I do?
changed some part in the front 3 times. first time was on some recall. hadn't noticed any thing. second and third time was on my decision. 5000km, 20000km and now the last time at 60000km. haven't noticed any thing for a while now. 72000km and counting...
Another funny thing (never get tired of my id.3 always something funny...) uppgraded to 2.4 from 2.0 (or something old) since i cant uppgrade OTA. asked for servie at the same time. didnt get service but was told to come by som day for deciding on a date for service. this wast two days after the 2.4-upgrade, now i was told for another upgrade... so no OTA for my car it seems and yes upgrade is not on the same date as the service.
It would have been really good to have a recording of the sound.
You will clearly notice it and know what I meant when you hear it. Lid on a pod.
Mine had to be replaced as well. And he at Møller bil Oslo found it out after 10 seconds of driving. He also said that it is a common thing with the Id3.
Drop links ! Most common suspension failure item on any car where they’re fitted , dead cheap , usually fairly easy to fix , I have a cupra born and I think mine is already worn or damaged probably because of all the speed humps where I live
Very short life for an OE part though. I have a 2015 Seat Leon owned from new, factory drop links still fitted at 77k miles.
@@Macmonkey1000 because of the vehicle weight I reckon
Now that might explain the noise I also hear when going on these longer speed bumps... It sounds like some kind of unstable metal/glasss part that rocks back and forth 🤔
Minder sounds like the parcel shelve or a protection cover underneath the car is vibrating/resonating
@@LorandToth-NL could be as well. Now that I listen again it does not seem to come from the front wheels
I had this isue at 30k km.. 50 Euro parts.. only on right front well.. mine is from august 2021
25 eur from autodoc
@@dot7107 here, in east we are very rich.. and pay double for everything 😂😂😂
Can you please provide part number?
Sorry, no idea
here is the parts number 1EA 411 315 C
I sold my Id.3 in July and went for the Tesla model 3, I should have bought it from day one, so much happier now.
Good for you
You just made my day! Have the same noise, but the dealer didn’t solve it during a 17 day ….software 2.4 update. I’ll tell them where to look now. Vielen Dank!
Did you really say a 17 day update? Why so long..
@@GHOOGLEMALE yes, that's what I said.. They had constant errors and needed then to restart the update from a certain point. Let's say that the communication with VW here in Spain, wasn't the quickest neither... Since then I'm waiting for my ID 3 Pro to download the 3.0 SW. But nothing yet. But still, I LOVE 😍 this car !! If VW would only get their act together....
@@peterhemelaer4754 Phew! - VW really needs to sort themselves out don't they?. My car has been on order since Nov 21 and now telling me its likely to be 2023 before I see it. I don't care how good it is, I'd never trust VW again and never buy another - The lies along the way are incredible...
Hatte ich auch, wurde behoben.
Many Id.4 in Canada have similar issues with front link kit just after 20k KM....
Hi Chris, thanks for the info. I haven't noticed it with my ID.3 (delivery 11/20, build 4 or 5/20). But I will listen carefully to see if I can hear the rattling noises of the coupling rod.
You can clearly hear it when it happens.
@@BatteryLife Thanks.
I also hear that noise in my ID.3 occasionally. I know my dealer changed a few components as a recall with the 2.4 update and once more during the 1st inspection last week. But I don't know which parts. However, my car is now 9 days outside of the factory warranty.... Wish I knew this earlier.. 😞
Should still be for free
@@BatteryLife I'll pay some attention the next days, if I hear it again, I will contact the dealer
Thanks 🙏
Thank you.
3.00 The coupling rod.
What doesn't fail on a ID3 😅
February 2021 is when I took delivery of mine. According to your info from VW, do you think I still have to expect this issue?
Maybe. You'll maybe find out.
My mechanic pushed on the front pillar from the side so as to slightly shake the car sideways (like a boat being hit by waves from the side) and even though the noise was not there all the time when driving, this shaking brought it up on command, like magic.
