- I have to admit y'all that I was really proud to hear my daughters speak the way they spoke in this video. It really shows how much they've grown up and how little time is left before they turn into full-grown adults. So, I recently got a chance to do a #familytestdrive of the new 2022 Kia Carnival SX to raise awareness about the importance of teen driver safety. Please take a look at what my daughters had to say about how they make sense of car safety tips but into their own personal life. Tip #1: Check your rearview and side-view mirror every 8-10 seconds. People change lanes last-minute, drivers don’t know where they’re going, and some people simply aren’t paying attention. To get there safely, drivers can use the Blind-Spot View Monitor. It projects a live video view of adjacent lanes in the instrument cluster and is activated via the turn signal.
Tip #2: Eyes Up, Phones Down. Even taking your eye off the road for a second can be dangerous. This is where Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist could come in handy. This helps detect pedestrians in front of the vehicle and uses automatic braking to avoid or mitigate an impact.
Tip #3: Constantly scan your surroundings. Parking Collision Avoidance Assist uses a rearview camera and rear ultrasonic sensors to help detect most pedestrians or nearby obstacles when the vehicle backs out of a parking spot or even your driveway, warning drivers with a chime and can engage brakes to prevent a collision
Tip #4: Know what's happening at a 360 range around your vehicle. Surround View Monitor utilizes four cameras to provide a 360-degree perspective around the vehicle enhancing driver confidence in tight parking situations
Tip #5: When you are driving, you are responsible for the safety of everyone in the car. The Safe Exit Assist audibly alerts the driver or passengers opening their door not to exit the vehicle when the system detects approaching traffic. The system can intervene to lock the rear doors when the vehicle is equipped with an available Power Child Lock.

I love the difference from where their answers come from, Alexa comes from an emotional place, and Eli is quite literal. Its a nice balance among siblings. They have great parents.

Eliana's haircut surprised me, but it looks so nice ❤️. She does need to trim those bangs though, so that she doesn't crash while riding her bike 😂.

I remember meeting your wife at Mariposa Ice Cream at Adams ave in Normal Heights. Your daughters were so little and Alexa as always so talkative😂. In that time you and your wife weren’t together and she had the girls with her that day. We talk about Alexa, about the boom of your video singing with your daughter and the trips you were doing because of it. Like we say in Spanish “desde ese día mucha agua corrió bajo el río” and make me so glad see you now all together and with the new addition of your cute son. God bless your family.

Had the very same talk with mine several years ago now actually 🤔 time flies indeed...
Idk the girls irl but they seem to be legit and getting the msg in.
My experience with this was that I had to do the same exercise x3 just to make sure the student actually understood the purpose/exercise, and not simply memorising the answers as if that’s the lesson at hand.
I even randomly asked outside the lesson timeframe. Again, to make it vividly clear.
I also told mine to bare in mind that failing a driving test is not the end of the world.
Some ppl pass on their first go and some don’t. It’s that simple rly...

So jokingly (or not) condescending them and such as they try and learn to assert themselves toward their own father is probably one of the crucial mistakes that took me a while to actually see let alone admit to myself.
I can see that going on here from time to time in this and other videos. Which made me include this part.
Yours is nothing serious ofc but that’s exactly how mine started. Being aware of it (similarly like the driving safety lesson you are trying to impart) can save you a whole lot of unnecessary grief I personally have had experienced unnecessarily.
It’s can be tricky to see (and nip in the bud) believe you me, let alone admit to once self since you have been there for them since day one that bit ik too well. But if their mature enough for you to let em off and drive on their own, then they ought mature enough to be given that (amongst others tbh) respect imho.
So long as they don’t abuse it ofc 😉

Another important thing that wasn't mentioned is knowing your body's alarm system signs a few most people have when situation is getting a bit iffy is butterflies in stomach clammy hands & fidgeting them,hairs on the back of neck standing up. Alert U 2 get out of car/place before anything bad happens. I learnt that from a course.

Back then (early 1970s) we let our hair grow long into our faces, but we still combed / brushed our hair.
I think Eli's hair is a bit too long and looks like it hasn't been combed / not brushed
