    I have just stayed using Korean skincare, and am not an expert. However, from my research, I've decided that Laniege seems to charge high prices for inferior products. Just my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️

    to convert from ppm to % is quite easy. 100ppm = 0.01%, 1000ppm = 0.1%, 10,000ppm = 1%

      marina an easier way is to just divide the ppm listed by 10,000 to get the percentage

    Great video as always, Kelly!!
    To easily convert ppm values to percentages, you only have to divide the ppm listed by 10,000.
    For example purito’s sleeping mask has about 225,000 ppm of centella, that’s about 22.5% of the whole formula. Hope this helps!

    Interesting video Kelly. Niacinamide serums depend very much on formulation as to whether they're suitable for specific skin types. I love niacinamide as an ingredient, but when formulated with zinc it is drying on my skin. If it is formulated with peptides and other humectants it helps with redness and pore size, without drying me out. I really like the purito centella sleeping mask for my dry/sensitive/eczema prone skin and use it over my tretinoin to lock it in. Illyoon ato cream is my current moisturiser which I'm enjoying, though it's not rich enough for me alone at night without the sleeping pack. Best wishes.

    The texture of this Green Tea Probiotic cream is amazing. Sometimes I’ll rub it on the back of my hand just for fun cause it feels so good and nourishing lol, I really can't compare the texture to anything else I've ever tried before. Initially, I thought this cream would be too heavy for daytime use so I was planning to use it as a night cream, but I've found this to be the first moisturizer I’ve ever used that doesn’t make me greasy during the day despite its rich texture and the fact that it’s been hot and humid where I live lately. This leads me to believe that this moisturizer is actually hydrating my skin and locking in moisture, therefore decreasing the oiliness. For those suffering from dehydration and a weak moisture barrier, this is a godsend. I’m working on repairing my skin right now and because of this moisturizer, I’m finally starting to see improvements after MONTHS and months of trying to find something that would help, and I’ve tried soooo many products that just ended up producing little to no results. Highly, highly recommend this one!

    Oof I kinda feel like trying both the tia’m. I’m mainly concerned with the texture and skin barrier benefits but I feel like the purito would be nice and dewy and allow me to skip my oil step. Pigmentation is less of a problem for me because I have albinism but I do want to repair how sub damage messed with my skin texture. Is the purito lighter than the ordinary Niacinamide? Also how do the texture benefits of each compare to the ordinary?

    • @e.a.4926
      @e.a.4926 4 роки тому +3

      @@celiasmith7434 it's not that straightforward. The patented pseudoceramide complex that Illiyoon uses (Hydroxypropyl Bispalmitamide-MEA) contains cholesterol and fatty acids, as well, in addition to ceramides. Plus, it contains more ceramides overall (as in overall ceramide content) because pseudoceramides are much more affordable. Regular ceramides are extremely expensive and therefore always used in tiny concentrations. That being said, for me personally, Curel Intensive Moisture Cream, another pseudoceramide product, wins out over both Illiyoon and Stratia. It's just way superior.

I couldnt understand per the endless formulations and serum varieties how they could be so cheap comparable to other brands until I tried them and for my combo oily/very blemish prone skin they all were a huge disaster. Every formula is made to be super slimy dense texture including the gels. So no natter how little you use or even on damp skin my face felt so sticky/tacky and congested as it is impossible to layer the rest of your routine over that as my skin just did not feel good or clean. I was bummed as the price point is amazing but complete no go for me. People who have much dryer skin types night have much better results.

    Also, I had a question for whoever knows. I have dry skin that's not dehydrated (at least I don't think it is), but I'd like to try a ceramide cream. Do ceramides have anti aging benefits? Is it better to use them in the morning since they protect your skin?

    • @lorainemcgillivray77
      @lorainemcgillivray77 4 роки тому +3

      Ceramide creams aren't anti aging as such, but well moisturised skin always looks younger. I look to serums etc for anti aging ingredients and want my moisturiser to moisturise/protect my skin. Ceramides can be used both morning and night and time of day has no effect. It depends on what you want to use in conjunction with it. Unlike vitamin a or c, ceramides don't fight the signs of aging, stimulate collagen or brighten, but they do give your skin what it needs to be healthy. Anti aging needs more active ingredients eg tretinoin or niacinamide - hope that helps.

    Can anyone recommend a k beauty moisturiser for combination sensitive skin please watched thousands of videos and can’t decide 😭

      Pyunkang Yul Moisturizer is quite good. Some may call it basic but it's perfect for sensitive skin. I'm not sure if it's too moisturizing for combo skin. I have dry skin and it's kinda lacking for me so....
      Hope it helped or hope you found something that's working

    The Illiyoon cream looks really thick, I was thinking of getting but the Innisfree looks good. Which one do you think is better if you are using retinol and vitamin c products? I have dry dehydrated skin, never get breakouts or anything. Anti aging and whitening ae my main goals, what do you recommend?

      Hi it depends on how dry your skin is tbh. I don't find the Illyoon heavy and in fact use it as my daytime moisturiser under sunscreen. At night without a sleeping pack it isn't rich enough, but for reference I'm dry/eczema prone with dehydration. I use tretinoin at night also. Hope that helps, but I think you'll know how rich a cream your skin needs and what type of texture you like.

    I love purito and I really wanted to buy the sleeping pack BUT coconut oil (3rd ingredient!!) olive oil, Shea butter and alcohol?? Are they for real??

    • @SaraHungary
      @SaraHungary 4 роки тому +4

      Hey! The purito sleeping pack contains cetearyl alcohol, which is a moisturizing type of alcohol, not the drying one.

      Réka Adamik okay that’s great even tho still a lot of people are going to think twice about it, the rest of the ingredients are still there tho and are big NOs..

      This coconut oil and olive oil is formulated in a product, they are not in pure form. But I think this pack is for more dry skin types (for example I would try it) not for oily, acne prone.

      You’re right I suppose, but they’re overdoing it with the oils and extracts in general even in the deep sea water cream that they market for “dehydrated oily skin” for example. They started reformulating some of their popular products because people kept complaining about those only to keep doing this with their most recent releases...

      SiaDeCursed1 Ugh i have dry and dehydrated skin but still breakout like crazy from coconut oil.. Hate that people always assume dry skin = not acne prone. So hard find stuff for both.

      Dermatologists prescribe them, their technology and even celebrities use them. Everyone does in South Korea... even babies.

    I don't really get those ppm numbers. Normally ingredient percentages are by weight, but ppm, I guess that's by volume. It seems a lot 10ppm, but that's 0.00001%. It's important to learn to spot the 1% line, since ingredients below 1% may be listed in random order, very often the actives below that line are added in extremely small quantities, and it's not really worthwile to buy a product just for those specific ingredients if you don't know wether they have been added at an effective percentage.

      I presume they do it because it seems more potent and science like in the consumer's eye but you always have to calculate it back to percentage to give meaning to it.

    Kelly I love you but I would really, REALLY appreciate it if you could use gender neutral language, like "HUMAN-made ceramides" (or simply "synthetic ceramides,") instead of "MAN-made ceramides."
