If he would have stated the conversion losses it would have been clear what the problem is. Not to mention his complete trivialization of hydrogen transport.
I used to love H2, but it is way too expensive to produce, store, transport, and then reconvert to electricity. Much cheaper to use clean energy directly, and then balance it with storage, transmission, and real time pricing. Read Joe Romm, Michael Liebreich, Saul Griffith for details.
