Either he has great eyes, but not enough baseball smarts to realize that's a borderline pitch that could be called either way OR he has bad eyes and good baseball smarts but thought the pitch was WAY LOW (because of his bad eyes)....... Guess he was just having a bad day / moment. The pitch is close enough that an ump can call it a strike and it won't be too controversial. Maybe he was not calling it a strike up to that point in the game. Consistency is more important than actually calling accurate strikes and balls from what I understand.

I understand arguing a couple of it gets really bad or it actually impacts the game but these guys argue every call, yelling at the ump and somehow expecting the call to change.
