-Make sure you remove and reverse the wires like he says to prevent BL touch from just failing and smashing right into the build plate.
    -For stable firmware, google CR-10 S5 Marlin 1.1.6 BL-Touch V3.1
-To update firmware, download and open cura, (connect computer to the 3d printer with usb to usb mini, and have the 3d printer turned off, the screen will light up when connected) then go to settings, printer, manage printer, update firmware, custom firmware, select your downloaded firmware.
-Thank you very much for this video, saved me a ton of troubleshooting!

This may sound silly, but i'm having issues with this firmware. I updated everything fine, and now I have BLTouch functionality, but it seems to always want to print in the air. When I AutoHome, i find that my Z offset is -2.5mm. I then run the Bed Leveling function and store my home offsets from the grid it makes. When i print though, im printing in air, and the printer seems to ignore my Z offset. If I "Tune" while printing, i can lower the head the same 2.5mm i set my Z offset to, and it prints fine, but i cant figure out how to save the settings for future prints. Any idea what im doing wrong? Unfortunately there isnt a readme or any instruction included with this firmware...

@@Shumps28 i have to manually set my offset each time i start my printers, the BL is essentually great for self leveling

@@merlincantrell8546 you need to save the settings and then reset EEPROM, then it will save your offsets and no need to set them each time you turn on yout printer.

Thank you so much for posting this video. This just saved me. I also learned that the firmware can be upgraded via Ultimaker Cura and the USB cable!

Thank you so much for the quick tutorial. I still can't get it to work right on my CR10 S5... I mean it appears to work properly, but I follow the instructions exactly ... 1. I set the Z offest to 0.00 and store it, just to make sure I am not fighting myself. Shut off the machine, start up again and check to see that Z offset it 0.00 (it is). 2. Auto Home... no problem except when it's done it sets itself at 10mm above what it considers 0.00. So when I get to 3. Move Z Axis to proper height... I have to first remove the +10.0mm it is resting at. Then I usually have to take out about -1.7 to get it where I want it. Then I go to 4. Control, set Z Offset and enter -1.7 and save settings. then 5. Bed Leveling (25 stops on my deck)... I go to print a test print that I have printed a million times before and it's extruding plastic at what looks like 7mm above the deck. So I fiddled and fooled until I thought it would work (total Jerry Rigging it)... then it prints it's test strip (cleaning strip) and it's perfect, then as it begins to print, the head keeps going higher and higher until it's just extruding in mid air. Bear in mind, my bed is within 0.1mm on all four corners to being with. So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if I have the wrong firmware (I got it from Creality web site). But it's sucking right now. I can't even print unless I take it off and just go back to leveling it myself.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately, so at least you're not alone. Once i level the bed, the prints in mid air and ignores the Z offset i saved. I can tune the path while printing in order to force my offset into the print, but there doesnt seem to be a way to save it.

Bless you, bless you. This got me functioning for klipper. If it helps anyone, on my CR-10 S5 V2.2 board this works with the video's modifications:
    [bltouch]
    sensor_pin: PD3
    control_pin: PB5
    pin_move_time: 0.9
    x_offset: -46
    y_offset: -5
