That happened to me. I was crossing the street from work and a truck came out of the parking lot across from where I was. I had a premonition of getting hit and sure enough I took two steps off the curb and got hit. The impact threw me up in the air and I landed over the double lines on my face. My coworkers heard the commotion and ran out. That was when I was approached by a man out of nowhere who stayed and asked me a few questions and suddenly was gone. I know for a fact he was my guardian Angel. I could’ve been killed. My handbag landed across the street and everything in it was broken. I still have ptsd from it and that was in 2011. I had to go to a rehab and learn how to walk all over again.
I stopped to help someone out that ran out of gas to push his truck off the road in 1995. It turned out to be my childhood friend and so it was 7 of us in all talking and I was in the middle of the back bumper of the truck, pushing it across a bridge to the shoulder. A woman was drunk, hit me and into the truck I was pushing. I almost bled to death, but we had cell phones and the hospital was 5 minutes away. The first Dr scheduled me for double amputation. A trauma Dr came in and overruled it. He saved my legs. 13 surgeries over 2.5 years and I was able to walk again. PT is very important to get well. 7 blood transfusions, skin, bone, arterial, vein, muscle grafts, lung collapsed and my Achilles tendon cut in half. I'm very lucky
I am a Savannah native and have eaten at Lady and Son’s when they were at the first location a few blocks down on Congress St., near Belford’s Steak House. The food was very good then. When the restaurant opened in its current location the food was good the first two or three times. I haven’t bothered returning as the quality of the food is not the same. I think now it is quantity over quality. Mrs. Wilkes on Jones St., is much better. The Crystal Beer Parlor, Pirate’s House, and The Exchange Tavern are a few that are good.
I love Savannah and I have been to the Lady and Sons. I also don’t think the food is anything to brag about. I had the buffet and I ordered fried green tomatoes off the menu.
Yes, I went to her restaurant in 2018. They have a buffet as well as ordering from menu. The food was not that good to me. I did buy trinquets in the store which is next to it. I loved being in Savannah, beautiful city.
Before the pandemic, she had a huge menu and a decent buffet and I loved going there. I moved to Savannah in 2013 and went often. Since she has gone to the family style, it is not the same. As far as the poor guy getting hit, people drive like idiots down here and truthfully, that includes people on bikes. I have been bumped downtown by a car that got blinded by the sun and missed a stop sign.
There was nothing that she nor her videographer could have done. They checked on the biker and mentioned it in their video. What about all of the cars going around the accident that could have caused another accident?
I went to the location in Foley Alabama but it closed recently I'm sad because I love the Georgia catfish and always wanted to try the Georgia Gold fried chicken 🍗
I will NEVER understand why people stand there and look at a person who has been hit by a car and say , should I call 911 ??? Then people stand there and look for about 5 minutes asking again, should I call 911 ???? I'll NEVER understand!! 🤷♀️ SMH
@@VesaJay that was a challenging situation people sometimes don’t have a bad heart just let their emotions get inn the way we all have to love and respect each other’s differences and hopefully she learned from her experience we all should learn to be more kind to one another 🤗
Her dull brother is the one that was making racial slurs to employees, and when she took the hit for it she refused to lie on the witness stand and admitted, tearfully, to using the "N" word to describe to her ex-husband the black man who had raped her.She could have lied, but she didn't. Judge not!
Typical downtown Savannah…everyone talking on their phones and nobody paying attention to anything going on around them. It’s not NYC, but you still have to keep your head out of your butt.
Their food is over salted and poorly cooked. Her recipes are basically ripoffs from real southern cooks. Don’t waste your money at this place. It’s just a tourist gimmick.

Oh my god I am so so sorry that happened to you. So happy your Guardian Angel was there. Yes, we all have to be safe out there. 🤗
Thank you and I love Paula Deen too. I’m very impressed with your honesty. It’s nice to see someone so genuine as yourself!🥰
