Much respect to the army honor guard .. they did a amazing job at my grandfathers funeral .. 1st class 🇺🇸
My DS was from the old guard and he was the one to patch me at the patching ceremony. I know it’s cheesy but to have a guard from the tomb of the unknown patch you shake your hand and say “congratulations soldier, you made it.” Meant a lot to me and it still does
What is well less known by the public is the units of the old guard, regardless of their ceremonial duties, must maintain combat efficiency and be ready to deploy at a moment's notice.
Perfect practice makes perfect
This is an honor bestowed to only a few. Chosen individuals who have earn the right to receive it. This is something
that the survivors of the deceased can take comfort in.
I served 1980-1982, Charlie Company 3rd Platoon 1st Firing Party. SSG Mallow Squad Leader. HOOAH
Nice video! You guys had great cracks! FPC was excellent. I do have to make a critique that one guy is using his shoulder on the rack, it should be all arm, the shoulder should not move. D co Firing Parties 97-00
calling me out
NO POPCORN JUST A CANNON BURST
Completely badass
Watch how The Old Guard Drill team does it. Also The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Boys were spot on 🇺🇸
in the last 30 years the word fire replaced with pull ?
Pretty sure the Staff Sergeant was trying to say "Hut."
It actually has to do with rhythm. The amount of time it took to go from f to ire was so long, the rhythm was too slow because the mouth had to make so many jaw movements it would be behind rhythm and potentially cause an honor guard to fire off rhythm. This was fixed with a “hut”, a quicker more rhythmic and on time word. With the field it’s different since there’s no ceremonial rhythm to fighting. “Fire” does perfectly fine on the field.
The word actually spoken in the place of fire according to the MFH SOP's is, "PIRE!". The "P" is much more of a distinct and percussive sound.
Its pire because the p is hard sounding and f is soft.
@@tinn6092 Actually he is saying PIRE
That single bead of sweat running down your lower back and into the crack of ur azz... yep. Youve made it.😅
Whoever watched the movie Gardens of Stones?.
Not even the old guard can wear there covers correctly.
Where?
