Absolute utter bullshit! His reaction to the abuse made him strong, but he’s one out of hundreds of millions who are destroyed by abuse
Well, I think it's like anything. You have the kid who is raised among drug addicts and then starts doing drugs at a young age and dies, or it ruins his life, and then someone else, for whatever reason, they look around and go, "I don't want to do what these people are doing," and they go on to excel in something and escape.
Of course, I mean, yeah, I'd bet the house that the vast majority of the guys he grew up with ended up with physical and emotional issues, possibly addiction issues, premature aging and death, etc. I think that's a fair assumption to make, but it doesn't make his story less interesting.
It's what actually happened - not a how to guide.
