How to Keyframe Audio in DaVinci Resolve 18 | Quick Tip Tuesday!

Funny.. As a studio guy for many years doing Automation in DAW's from Pro Tools, Cubase to Reaper and Luna... I use Resolve for my youtube videos but never knew that DaVinci just calls Automation keyframes. I always thought the mention of keyframe was something different.. Which I've been doing in every video to ride my own VO or music beds. Is that a video editor term then? Cause seems Keyframe is just automation..

Key frames is typically used when referring to video but in resolve you can ‘keyframe’ audio volume and panning. There’s a whole separate set of tools for automation as you’re familiar with, as long as you jump into Fairlight. You can automate anything just as you can in any other DAW. 😜
I find that people familiar with video understand the word keyframes much easier than the word automation. 😁👍

Had no idea ALT and click on gain line will add key frame. I get so frustrated trying to use the panel. Thank you!!!!

Yeah! The Alt click is fast and easy, I use it all the time! 😁

Is there anyway of removing single key frames if you decide you don't want it anymore?

Yes, just click on the individual key frame, it will highlight red and then hit your delete or backspace key. 😁👍

One thing I've found that holding the SHIFT key while dragging the GAIN LINE allowes for Finer adjustment.
