Did exactly the same with my mt09 a few years back-dropped it. carefully, wet and dried with fine paper polished it out, then used heat resistant stove enamel (aerosol) after masking the rest of the engine. Just take your time.
This is my 3rd year ownership review of Kawasaki Z900 2021. I bought this Superbike on 3rd March 2021. As on today the 2nd March 2024 I have completed 27300 kms. As Japanese stands for relailibilty and refinement. This bike is no exception. Till date absolutely no issues apart from general wear and tear parts like brake pads and tyres. What is good! 1. Good milage of 18 Kmpl overall. ( Highway 22-24). 2. Fantastic top speed of 250 kmph. (My best 222kmph) 3. Rock solid reliability no issues whatsoever. 4. Amazing heat management. 5. Fantastic pick up, wheelie machine. 6. Torque throughout the rev range. 7. Refined in line 4 engine. What is not good! 1. Hard suspension not good for bad roads. 2. Worst rear seat comfort. 3. Average brake bite compared to superbike standards. Maintenance and running cost of Kawasaki Z900 in 3 years. (27300 kms odo). 1. Total Fuel cost = 1516 liters = Rs 1.65 Lakh. 2. Total full 6 services cost = 1.04 Lakh. 3. 2 Pairs of Veridestian Tyres = 52k. 4. Own damage insurance for 3 years = 45k. 5. Washing detailing Amt spent in 3 years = 15k approx. Total running and maintenance cost for 3 years Rs 3,81,000/- This roughly translates to 1,27,000/- per year. Verdict I am super satisfied with Kawasaki Z900. Very difficult to pick negatives. Its amazing value for money superbike. Fantastic all rounder, you can have Super fast Sunday rides or take it for touring without having wrist or back pain, cruise at 110kmph or rocket off to 200+ in few blinks, For 12lakh budget nothing comes close to this Japanese beauty. Very reliable. You wont let it go but may add supersport for fun beyond 250kmph, if you have sufficient vitamin M.
@HawkLad What qualifies as a superbike? Answer : Superbike racing motorcycles must have four-stroke engines of between 850 cc and 1200 cc for twins, and between 750 cc and 1000 cc for four cylinder machines.
@HawkLad what do u mean 1st world. U mean Asian countries like India, China Russia are 2nd world countries. Grow up dude . We have more buying power. U name it we have the bike here.
Great job on the video I’m definitely going to get the z900 it came down to this bike and the 24 mt09 but I like the z900 headlight and how the bike just flows together and last but not least the Power
Love the all black colour. I’m looking at buying a z900 this year but I hate the colour schemes they have for the 2024 season. Is this standard, or have you removed all the red stripes from the black and red bike?
You can do the future services by your own, but I’m sure they’ve programmed the service light to turn on after 1 year or 12k km. The problem is that that service light can be turned off only through their tester, or you need to by one for interfacing the ECU.
Initially for about the first 100 to 150 miles I stayed low. Then I rode it as I would normally ride it. Somewhere during the break in process, i believe 200 miles, the books says you can increase RPMs. Zero issues discovered on first service inspection.
Tempted to put an aftermarket Quickshifter on it? An Quickshifter will take what is an already very fast and powerful bike, to an whole new level of super torque and high speed.
@@rich075 Cool. I have friend who got an Yamaha XSR900 last year, and it was equipped with an stock Quickshifter, and he absolutely loves how much additional acceleration and power, it gives to the bike. And he doesn't even do track days racing the bike. He says for him, any bike he buys in the future and if it doesn't have an Quickshifter, it will be an complete deal-breaker. I guess until I try one I'll never know.
I ordered the new one and will just keep it on standby until it's really needed. I haven't noticed the difference since it bent. It's more of a cosmetic thing at this point.
I have a 2023 no complaints from I love my Z. You chose wisely my friend have fun and now you can see the power that bike has
The Color is definitely popping, enjoying the video’s and asking if you could link the items/modes you integrate on the bike 👍👍
You know, I really feel like when you buy a brand new bike. The first 500 mile service should come with the bike perches.
Great colour scheme: first time I see z900 in all black. Did you customise it to remove the green parts or it comes lile that?
I removed the green stickers.
Sick motorcycle man, stay safe.
Thank you!
Great video, I love mine (2023) too. Love those bar end mirrors, what make & part # are they, where'd you get'em?

Z900 isn’t considered a super bike in the 1st world
@HawkLad yes it's a bicycle...🤣🤣🤣. But goes 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4sec

Actually, I can control the service reminder light myself through the TFT. I can set it by date or mileage or disable it all together.
First service seems like a "gotcha" shakedown to keep it under warranty. If I ever buy new I'd negotiate for that additionally
Thanks for the upload
Did you maintain low rpms before the first service or did you ride it like you normally would?
Initially for about the first 100 to 150 miles I stayed low. Then I rode it as I would normally ride it. Somewhere during the break in process, i believe 200 miles, the books says you can increase RPMs. Zero issues discovered on first service inspection.

Not really haven't thought about it. I enjoy shifting gears for now. If I do anything next it will be to change the headers and flash the ECU.

Are these tank knee pads OEM?
No, the bike does not come with tank pads. I believe I purchased these off Amazon.
Is thi factory coloring or did you paint it?
It's the factory color.
First service wasn't free? That's crazy
you don't have to buy a new shifter, just bend it back to the way it was.

600 mile service with the red tire line still there is crazy

@@rich075 that in almost 600 miles leaned it.
