Hey!!! The Tribe’s hobbit joins with THE hobbits and talks about whiskey! Daniel made for a fantastic guest. I actually think you guys should find a way to travel to the Fang & Feather in Austin to shoot part 2 with him! Or even better, you could record part 2 in the vault!
I really want you guys to know how much this podcast has helped me relax, de-stress and just overall feel better. I don't want to get too deep but it feels good to know that you guys will release a new episode every week. I really do love you guys ❤
How have i never seen this channel before. With Dom and his deep gravelly voice and Billy with a nice Scottish twang to it. And then just humorous topic approach and interest in the topic and guest. Cheers you magnificent bastards, welcome to the tribe.
Hi, Billy and Dom. I really love your podcast, its really enjoyable to listen to. Since i'm from Norway, it would be fun to see you try Norwegian food for "Billy and Dom eat the world", which is my favorite part of your podcast. So, it would be interesting to see you try the Norwegian brown cheese, if you're able to get hold of it in some way (it's available on amazon, i think). Keep going with the podcast, you're amazing.
I really like the red wrapper 'ski queen' one. The goat/cow blend is smooth. I didn't grow up with the 'all goat' one and find it a little grainy? The red one is the best!!
Best guest you've had so far by a long shot. They are all fantastic but man, what a personable, knowledgeable and genuine person! My favorite episode so far!
The best day for to watch my favorite podcast 🙂 I always love ♥️ and enjoy watching Billy and Dom on The Friendship Onion, I'm looking forward to watch another episode next Tuesday 😁
This is literally my favorite show. I have watched since the start. It always causes me to feel utter joy and you two are such excellent friends and humans. Tuesday has been the best day of the week since it started!
Did i mention i love this podcast? I have been so stressed lately and kinda low level nervousness that just hangs in the background with my worries, and i neeeed to think about something else and you two are my favorite distraction! You do realize you cant ever stop podcasting now dont you?
Loved this, especially how Billy began to glow! It made me wish I wasn't allergic to alcohol and sat in a cosy pub on Islay supping whisky with my brothers. 😊
Yes, tannins bother my stomach, so I don't enjoy whisky. On my first day in Scotland, my friend drove me to a distillery in the next town over (Speyside, as the guest was saying), but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as most people would have
This was glorious to see! There has been a running gag in the Whiskey Tribe that Daniel is a hobbit at heart so this was the cherry on top. Slowing down to and enjoying the experience a whiskey brings with others is truly fantastic. 🖖😎🥃
I had a bottle of The Classic Laddie at home so I could drink along with this episode! Perfect! I love the clean, blue appearance of the Laddie bottle too - I'd have to give it at least 189 fresh snowfalls in the Scottish Highlands out of 200.
Exceptional Podcast! It is a "blend" of some of my favorite podcasts (I watch all these guys). Made me break open my bottle of Lagavulin, sat in my green leather chair next to the fire, and followed along. It's all about the journey. Cheers!
I love it when two different content creators I enjoy come together randomly. I have been watching Daniel for years now and just recently started watching the friendship onion. I was super excited when this episode popped up on my podcast app. I listened to it while driving around Oahu. Great experience and great episode. Keep up the good work guys!
I really enjoyed the whiskey expert. I’m a pretty avid whiskey drinker. I usually drink at the least a bottle a weekend. For me honestly the best guest they’ve had on. There’s nothing better to loosen you up to socialize than whiskey.
I thought this seemed too much so I checked; NHS guidelines recommend no more than 350ml (14 UK units) of typical whiskey spread over three days, for men. You're drinking twice that, risking cirrhosis of the liver and other health problems. Maybe add a dash of water like Billy does?
My favourite podcast. Whiskey is very useful..2 tablespoons in a cup of english breakfast tea helps a cold go away. Drinking it straight gets rid of a sore throat and helps with indegestion.
So fantastic to hear Billy give a shout out to the Traverse in Edinburgh! I go there every year at the Fringe and see whatever they have on. I highly recommend checking it out ♥️
I absolutely loved this episode boys! I listened to the podcast and had so much fun with it I had to come and watch it here on UA-cam to squeeze all the juice out of it. Amazing episode ;)
I would have never asked for a whiskey expert, but it was actually extremely interesting to learn about. Now I might have to try some! Great show, as always.
What a great source of easy, light listening! League of legends can hurt, my hands get so flustered and nervous I have received scorn heap upon insults, good thing I know it is a game! Love your channel.
1:02:54 'sunrises in Lewis'. I actually had to sit down and take 5 minutes at that. Lewis is in my top 5 favourite places on the planet (my wife is from there 😀). Thanks to all 3 of you for possibly the best episode yet! Though usefulness, whisky is very handy in the kitchen. A whisky sauce on a steak, whisky in cake, whisky chocolates...just saying 😉
Hi Billy and Dom, I found this channel a couple of months ago and I'm catching up on them all now. This might just be the best one yet. Whisky and hobbits, my two great loves!
I used to work at High West Distillery in Utah and they used to have a product called Silver Whiskey. They literally distilled it and ran it through a barrel for the bare minimum time (They literally dumped it in and then immediately siphoned it out) to prepare it for bottling. They had a more corn based version and a rye based version and they were both really good!
Great episode Billy & Dom. If you really want to nerd out on all things olefactory I recommend reading “Nose Dive: A Field Guide to the World's Smells” by Harold McGee. Or any of his other books for fascinating stuff about the science of food and eating.
They should do at least two episodes on the WhiskyTribe channel! One more serious about discovering whisky and which of those 3000 bottles is their favorite. And the second episode can be your lovely bullshit they always do :P
This was one of my favorite podcast so far. I loved learning about whiskey. I have a favorite but there are still a lot I've never tried. For usefulness not necessarily for the whiskey you drank because it's high quality but for a cheap whiskey you can make a delicious whiskey cake or chocolate whiskey cake. You guys should try that next time
Hey guys! When I watched your last video and you talked about wanting professionals on the show to explain things like whiskey I immediately thought of the tribe. When Dom said he's getting "notes of whiskey" I almost fell over laughing!
Dom picked a very good time to acquire a self-driving car... Great episode. As an Irishman, I treacherously do like Scots whisky, but the local Bushmills Black Bush has a special place, as my brother and I would share it with our late father.
Hello Billy and Dom! You guys are doing an amazing job and I love the podcast. I also love the fact you are avid readers. I'm an avid reader as well. My parents, friends, and now hubby tease me that they never see me without a book in my hand. My love of books comes from my grandfather. When I was 6 he gave me my first real chapter book. Lord of the rings!!! He told me I was probably a bit too young for it at the moment but I just really saw that as a challenge. I read that book everyday after school. I remember being at awe of the characters. Especially the hobbits. I think that is were my love of reading stems from. I hope to give my children the love of reading as well. My question to you guys is where did your love of reading come from? A family member? Teacher?
There is a whiskey bar down the street from me that also serves great food. I would have never thought to go there, but after watching this episode I think I may pay them a visit and try to get into Whiskey!!!!! Another great episode gents!!!!
I got one for the "F" word, at the beginning of The Return of the King, when Gandalf and company go to Isengard to meet Merry and Pippin and they talk about enjoying few well earned comforts, Gandalf is like :"F***king hobbits".
For usefulness, you absolutely can add whisk(e)y as an ingredient to certain foods. When I was in college in Texas, some friends of mine went to Britain and brought me back a can of whisky fudge ("Gardiner's of Scotland" brand, I can tell you because two decades later I've still got the tin on my desk holding pens.) Also there's whiskey cake, which I've enjoyed from TGI Friday's and one time saw at the grocery store.
Whiskey for usefulness...I think your scores were kind of low lol. It is great for toothaches, hot toddy's for colds, great for numbing pain lol (think old west and American civil war times) and if you need to sleep due to insomnia its great too!! LMAO!! I would give it an 8 out of 10 for medicinal purposes! I love this podcast! I look forward to it every week! LOL I will have to admit I made a Role Playing Based based off of Merry and Pippin, LOL and Legolas (for archery) because I love those characters from the books! And you guys made them even better in the movies!! HOBBIT POWER!!! Lol hobbits rock!!
Hi. I nearly bought this rum bottle from Tesco because I liked the bottle, it was called Kakern (? Spelling, the Greek monster). However, it was £23 and I did not want to pay that. Last week I was staying in Hampshire in a hotel, and saw the bottle. I bought a glass (a shot) and added soda water. It was not to my taste, so I added coke. I left most of it. My boyfriend, went to the bar and was told about all the different whiskies, however, he got a Jack Daniels! Because I cannot drink much (about 2 drinks on average), I have been buying liqueurs and sometimes in the evening I have: ice, liqueur and fizzy water. Hope this message is not too boring. All the best.
Hell yeah, nice crossover! Just a small tidbit, typically when you add water it's just a few drops (1-4). Best with a pipette to dose correctly. When you put so much in as Billy did, it could water it down way too much.
Lads, in the name Aberlour the lour part is pronounced the same as flour. So its Aber-lower (Rhymes with flower) Loved this episode. Looking forward to the next whisky episode!
For Billy and Dom, and all whiskey lovers, give Stranahan’s a try. They’re in Denver, CO and ship domestically to many US stores. It’s hard to find them overseas though.
I miss “Emails and Real-mails, fast as tigers, slow as snails!” More songs always. My wife and I sing that every time the mailman comes.
Hey!!! The Tribe’s hobbit joins with THE hobbits and talks about whiskey! Daniel made for a fantastic guest. I actually think you guys should find a way to travel to the Fang & Feather in Austin to shoot part 2 with him! Or even better, you could record part 2 in the vault!

I can relate!
What a great episode! Daniel was an amazing guest.
I wrote the comment about Merry and Pippin being cousins and that the wrong person won. I'm glad they saw it. Shows they read our comments 😀
Save to say two Hobbits went for "Second Whisky" that day :)
How have i never seen this channel before. With Dom and his deep gravelly voice and Billy with a nice Scottish twang to it. And then just humorous topic approach and interest in the topic and guest. Cheers you magnificent bastards, welcome to the tribe.
Love seeing two of my favorite channels uniting, what a great episode!
The wish for a whiskey expert has been granted!
Daniel is a whiskey wizard. So much knowledge. Glad I found your UA-cam Channel gents. You are now officially Magnificent Bastards.
That's my favorite! Goatcheese! We had it on bread, or on the soft heart shaped waffles with a little sneak of jam.
I wanted to suggest that as well!
Two of my favorite shows! What a crossover haha
Thanks for making my Tuesdays wonderful 💛
I have been following Whiskey Tribe for a few years now. Great surprise!
Billy saying "ended up in Narnia" made my fantasy fangirl heart happy haha
"You're going to have to show us on the bottle where the whiskey touched you!" I laughed outloud at work.
Don't forget to hit that like button yall! Lets help em out!
This right here!!👆👆
Aye, Whiskey Tribe unite!
This is literally my favorite show. I have watched since the start. It always causes me to feel utter joy and you two are such excellent friends and humans. Tuesday has been the best day of the week since it started!
I am a "Magnificent Bastard", so thank you for talking to Daniel. He and his distilling partner, Rex, have a great distillery in Austin.
Did i mention i love this podcast? I have been so stressed lately and kinda low level nervousness that just hangs in the background with my worries, and i neeeed to think about something else and you two are my favorite distraction! You do realize you cant ever stop podcasting now dont you?
UA-cam is amazing. When two of my favorite channels do a collab. Perfection.
Loved this, especially how Billy began to glow! It made me wish I wasn't allergic to alcohol and sat in a cosy pub on Islay supping whisky with my brothers. 😊
Yes, tannins bother my stomach, so I don't enjoy whisky. On my first day in Scotland, my friend drove me to a distillery in the next town over (Speyside, as the guest was saying), but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as most people would have
I just love them... their show is so enjoyable =)

My favorite two things in one episode! Cheers from this magnificent bastard 🥃
Amazing episode and amazing guest. "Water of life"🥃❤️🔥 Sláinte!
Now I Wanna Drink Some Whisky And Smoke A Pipe While Rewatching The Lotr On A Porch As The Sun Comes Down
Exceptional Podcast! It is a "blend" of some of my favorite podcasts (I watch all these guys). Made me break open my bottle of Lagavulin, sat in my green leather chair next to the fire, and followed along. It's all about the journey. Cheers!
Superb troops! When two of my favourite channels combine. Big love fae Scotland!
I'm glad to call both as a Magnificent Bastards as a fellow MB! This crossover is fantastic as a lover of both shows! Salude!
Woohoo! It's my buddies!
Gandalf after seeing the Balrog for the first time. "This foe is beyond any of you! Fucking RUN!"
This has been one of my favorite episodes so far. Truly an enjoyable guest! Love learning along with you guys and love this podcast.
My worlds are colliding!
I love it when two different content creators I enjoy come together randomly. I have been watching Daniel for years now and just recently started watching the friendship onion. I was super excited when this episode popped up on my podcast app. I listened to it while driving around Oahu. Great experience and great episode. Keep up the good work guys!
Oh this is cool. Been a follower of Daniel and Rex for a very long time.
Dom I love you have a garden! Love you guys!
One of my favorite guests! Great to see someone so passionate about what they do. Another great episode!
Thanks, Billy! Thanks, Dominic! Thanks, Daniel! 🧅
Cool. I see this guy every time I buy my father in law a bottle. I’m a beer man myself.
might be the my favorite episode so far, this was so interesting
I don't see how Daniel gets away from being called a hobbit now. Rex will never let it go.
this was a real treat, thank you so much!!
I really enjoyed the whiskey expert. I’m a pretty avid whiskey drinker. I usually drink at the least a bottle a weekend. For me honestly the best guest they’ve had on. There’s nothing better to loosen you up to socialize than whiskey.

@@colinmorrison5119 honestly 1 bottle is on the short end for a week. Yea I gotta slow it down sometimes.
Two of my absolute favorite channels unite!
Easily the best episode yet. What a great guest. Super stuff everyone!
I learned a lot from this, even though I don't drink whisky
Yep. Best guest they’ve had so far. I loved this.
My favourite podcast. Whiskey is very useful..2 tablespoons in a cup of english breakfast tea helps a cold go away. Drinking it straight gets rid of a sore throat and helps with indegestion.
This was a phenomenal episode. Love seeing these two worlds collide and really can’t wait for a follow up episode SLÀINTE MHATH!!!
F'n brilliant cast, guys! I could listen to 2 more hours of this :)
So fantastic to hear Billy give a shout out to the Traverse in Edinburgh! I go there every year at the Fringe and see whatever they have on. I highly recommend checking it out ♥️

Knocking back whiskey while learning about it? Niiiice!
Thanks for the podcast. Hope you drove home ok.!!!

Wholesome!
I love you guy's, thank you so much for doing this podcast!
That was really fun!

Absolutely loved this episode. Keep it up, lads!
When the greatests things in the universe get together
Dom picked a very good time to acquire a self-driving car...
Great episode. As an Irishman, I treacherously do like Scots whisky, but the local Bushmills Black Bush has a special place, as my brother and I would share it with our late father.
Great show today (as usual)!

Dadgum, that was a great interview!
How I wish I were in a study with Dom, surrounded by the smell of pipe smoke and books, a fire roaring in the grate...
best theme song to anything, cant be beat
Greetings from the whiskey tribe. Cheers you magnificent hobbits.
What a perfect cross over 👍 my absolute favourite whiskey is red breast
I rate this episode 16/17 puffs of long bottom leaf

David Chang is who you want! Hes a 2 Michelin Star chef and the founder of Momofuku
Apart from Richard Taylor, this whisky-legend is my favourite guewt of yours so far😍 I would LOVE for you to have him back!😍🤤
Hell yeah, nice crossover! Just a small tidbit, typically when you add water it's just a few drops (1-4). Best with a pipette to dose correctly. When you put so much in as Billy did, it could water it down way too much.
