What is normally done by 3 people on a merchant vessel needs 20 people on a naval ship. Total chaotic and crowded with no room to move. Everybody's seems to be giving orders and i wonder who's listening.
This is really cool video, I can't stop watching it. I love ships profoundly and watch every video of every bridge and wheelhouse I can but this is the first time I've seen the view from the bridge of a Navy ship. Thank you!!
I served on the LHD7 Uss Iwo Jima from 2004-2008. We worked hard and helped with the Hurricane relief tons of memories on that ship. All who serve on her work hard and learn tons of life lessons, to all my fellow sailors keep up the good work.
Please show us how its done sir. Two very well known harbor pilots and an experienced Navy Bridge team obviously didnt have your training or decades of running NY harbor.

Ridiculous. There must be 20 people on the bridge which is 17 too many.
Manned the helm on many a watch but that was in the early 70s.
How can anyone make any sense of such ridiculous bridge configuration as this, seen it so often it scares the life out of me aqs a Pilot

So were the harbor pilots flown in by helicopter?I know they would usually use a pilot boat.
