Everybody gangsta till the stormtrooper that missed his shots 40 times grabs a lightsaber
Yup,their blaster kinda useless
If a stormtrooper had a lightsaber they would cut off their own hands
Better run😂😂
From what I read in the lore, there were actually plenty of good and even great marksman in the Stormtroopers. And the E-11 is actually a pretty good blaster rifle. The reason why so many miss their shots is because of their helmets, they have poor vision and can't see out of them well enough to land their hits. Whenever a stormtrooper takes off the helmet to fight, their aim increases significantly.
@@dr.scarlet7586 I know it is because of the smoke in their helmets I'm pretty sure or something like that. But the first order troopers had more technology in their helmets to help them aim.
If I was a storm trooper I would totally try to modify my helmet to not have smoke, have aim assist and to be able to activate temperature control without my commander knowing

Perhaps Kreel had a slight force sensitivity. He could feel the electrifying power in Sidious. After all, The emperor's force power most often seen is force lightning, and it is caused by the force which is a living thing. The idea that the trooper could feel this unaware that it is anything other than admiration doesn't seem too far fetched. It could even explain the troopers inclination towards lightsabers.
True, but even then the fact he wasn't inducted into the inquisitorius or old canon shadow guard makes me think he is just a unique guy, not a force sensitive
No. Not really. Nost beings. Who we know are not force sensitive who where near vader or palpatine felt abosulge dread or hate or anxiety
To be fair the lightsaber is also really hard to use without force sensitivity so that checks out has too how he uses it without large training apparently since I'd imagine vader gets fed up with the training if it included managing to learn to even properly use a saber
Not to mention midichlorians are a thing. Sgt. Kreel probably had more than most other storm troopers
@@nascentKiller he could have just had an above average midi-chlorian count, not enough to be considered a force sensitive, but enough to just get feelings of things
I believe the “living lightning” part was more literal, because the emperor was one of the only people who could use force lightning, so I think he meant he could feel the emperor’s power
Force lightning is not a rare ability. Pretty much every dark sider has used force lightning before.
@@devastater97 there's not many force users around, particularly dark side users, and even less of them are able to use it regularly, as far as I'm aware no inquistor has used it
@@calebbarnhouse496 Inquisitors are literal punkasses, barely dark siders. Some can't even handle padawans. Legends Inquisition however...that's a different story.
@@devastater97 yes, buy the point is that in cannon force lighting is likely only known how to be used by less then 10 people, and since one of them darth vader, who can't use it without harm to his health, to a regular person the power Palpatine could project would make him seem like pure energy, which is best described as lightning
@@calebbarnhouse496 in canon almost every ancient Sith Lord knew force lightning, god forbid you mention the countless Sith Holocron whose force ghosts did the same. Darth Arctis, Vitiate, Nihilus, Revan, Malek, Tulak Hord, Ruin, Literally every Dark Council member. Etc. Before Darth Banes Rule of 2 there were hundreds of force users who knew it at any given moment due to the Sith Order churning out decent Sith.
This is perfect. Palpatine's character is solitary, and telling a trooper that the empire needs more stormtroopers like him SHOULD be taken as a compliment. The part where he says, "whoever you are," means that Palpatine is so impressed with Kreel, that his status as a lowly stormtrooper is irrelevant. Palpatine will always give credit where it is due.

Would have been interesting to see Thrawn's reaction to kreel if the stormtrooper had been placed under his command. The Grand Admiral respected genuine loyalty deeply and knew how to cultivate talent better than virtually any imperial officer

It's interesting to see the Empire actually helping a group of natives. That's exactly the kind of thing good people do. It shows that the Empire, although ruled by a horrible tyrant, is full of people who aren't necessarily evil, or who are even good, or at least feel that they're doing the right thing. Kreel really believes that the Rebels are terrorists, and really believes that he's fighting the good fight.
Giancarlo Peñalba The star wars comics actually showed the empire saving people from pirates, invaders and certain dangers a lot. It’s a shame Starwars never show it.
Because the Rebels ARE terrorists... regardless whether or not they are justified, they *are* terrorists.
@@DeathlyWolf42 You are 100 percent correct, Rebels have killed innocent and wealthy as well in their exploits.
They are not innocent either, I think this was intentional to show that neither side is all good or evil like any war.
It’s a bit like the romans conquering Britain, yes they slayed anyone who stood against them and forcibly thrust their civilization and way of living on those living there, removing all traces of their former cultural identity and in the end completely subsuming them but that in turn brought peace and stability to a region that had never had that before and eventually gave rise to even greater civilizations.
They’re just the ones fighting the ones in power, it’s cyclical
I am willing to believe that Kreel was force sensitive, and that's why he was hit so strongly with Palpatine's presence.
I don't think Kreel took the emperor's "whoever you are" as an insult in the sense that he was talked down to and "ignoring" that part, but instead Kreel took it as, "no matter who you are or what you do, loyal troopers like you is what the empire needs", essentialy, in Kreel's mind, he was Complimented and misunderstood what the Emperor actually meant with that comment.
That's atleast my take on it.

Palpatine set off his fight or flight response. Since the force resides in all living things, what tiny amount of midichlorians reside in sgt. Kreel recognized the overwhelming power sidious has and basically put him into a survival mode. One where the only chance at surviving is total infatuation.
Maybe Kreel was force-sensitive to some degree? So he could sense Palpatine's sheer strength in the dark side despite not being able to use force powers himself

Ya know what is also described as living lightning to some people? The northern lights, and the way the static electricity in the air feels. so much high voltage but low currant electricity flows in you. Palpatine being such a powerful sith lord and his force lightning abilities could have the same effect. That palpatine is so strong a field of static electricity constantly flows around him. I’m suggesting the storm trooper might have not been metaphorical in his words, but almost literal. I’d love to hear what you guys think
Kreel had the Will Of The Force. He really saw his very own Fear to Emperor Palphatine.Same as Fin,he found the way of his own then be a trooper for First Order.

Living lightning likely refers to his dark force power. It’s is well known that palpitine is extremely powerful in the force. The description refers to the aura around him as jubilant and dark as lightning energy. I mean, he can literally shoot force lightning
“Shove it through his chest BEFORE taking out his entire squadron too.”

What comic is this from?
I don’t know. That’s a critical detail they need to leave.
You can read all about Kreel here: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Kreel . They also list the comics in which he appears.
I interpreted living lightning as the “force” like a feel in the air that shows the pure nature and power of a person. Since palpatine can use lightning, the “force” or some other feeling was able to show that to the trooper. It’s like mages and their affinities in fantasy, a fire mage can be sensed by magic tools for affinity testing and it’ll show fire as his affinity... same thing for palpatine
I don't think Kreel knew it at the time, but I believe that Palpatine's force energy was so strong that Kreel could practically feel it in the air. Again, he most likely thought it was just his love toward his empire and his emperor, but it could very well have been sensing the Force.
He's like the cashier who doesn't really want to become manager but just wants the power to give refunds.
This implies to me that Kreel either has some slight force sensitivity or has as much as an inquisitor and yet to "awaken".

While I believe kreel to be an exemplary trooper. I dont believe he could feel sidious' power. I believe he felt the sheer commanding presence of palpatine. The fact that his enforcer, the most powerful and feared cyborg in the galaxy was respectful of him. The fact that he met his "Hero." I believe it was akin to the feeling meeting a very important person you admire and respect in your life.
It’s kinda sweet in a weird kind of way
Jacob Greene constructive criticism?? Hahahaha
The Emperor shoots lightning out of his hands so “Living Lightning” makes sense.
You said Vader gave him his lightsaber to the trooper. Didn’t see that at all.
Kreel was probably a little force sensitive. It's entirely possible that Vader saw this in Kreel as well, and maybe even Palpatine knew, but that would explain why Kreel could feel the amount of power the emperor had.
"like living lightning"
sounds to me like he was sensitive enough to FEEL that horrifically overwhelming Sith presence...Vader? Might have gotten used to that little mitochlorian tingle from "Big Black and Burnt"
Sidious wasn't lying. When you are willing to throw wave after wave of the bodies had an enemy, you are going to need more soldiers who are willing to be so thrown. So technically, he is telling the truth.
I think his statement was about how excited he felt to be in the presence of such a commanding figure. A figure who had the respect and loyalty of not only Vader, whom he very much respected, but of everyone he knew.

I mean that he’s not really a nobody he’s part of Darth Vaders commando group he’s one of the best captains that the empire has ever seen
"Living lightning"
sounds like he feels the "Unlimited Power!"
By "Living lightning" I think he meant his face shockingly looked like it was boiled in hot water then got electrocuted.
"He appeared in an instant. A brilliant flash that left me blinded, fazed, disoriented. I felt him before he came, in some instinctive way. Even Lord Vader was only a dark cloud compared to the power and presence of the Emperor. I was changed in ways I cannot describe in words..."
The fact he likes lightsabers and could feel the Emperor's presence, makes me think he could posses the Force himself. It seems farfetched but it would be interesting if Star Wars ever want to do a story like that.
Vader gives a late Empire era stormtrooper his lightsaber. Stormtrooper tests it out and cuts his own head off.
Vader: "D'oh!"
Been binge watching videos lately. Appreciate the work!
Kreel had enough of a minuscule connection with the force to feel a minor portion of what Palpatine is in the force.
When Creel said "like a bolt of living lightning", he was probably referring to Palpatine's Lightning Force power.
His aura as palpating only uses lightning for the majority of the star wars timeline
The living lightning quote is fitting for Palpatine due to his mastery of force lightning and his gratuitous use of it in confrontations.
In my mind the word lightning is associated with the emperor's force lightning. Why would Kreel say this, is it because Palpatine emanates a strong energy? How would a non force user be able to sense this maybe because the kyber crystal was speaking to him. Here's one even crazier, Kreel is force sensitive and doesn't realise it and Darth Vader didn't want him to know. Darth Vader was pleased to hear his response not because of his loyalty but it insures him that Kreel was going to stay as a stormtrooper.
Palpatine being described as lightning can be interpreted as him being dangerous, and unpredictable
The SCAR Squadron is one of my favorite new additions. Very unusual in a sea of identical Stormtroopers. You should do a whole video on them.
Your video will make a fine addition to my collection
Zuke casually beating the shish out of a giant beast came outa nowhere
How I see it is: A bolt of lightning is bright and noticeable even when nobody sees it coming out of the corner of your eye you see lightning. Palpatine has that kind of affect on multiple people in the Star Wars universe

Kreel: Seeing The Emperor was like seeing a bolt of living lightning.
Palpatine: Ironic

"A bolt of living lightning"
To me this represents palpatine as a whole. From his time of being the chancellor to his reign as the emporer is something to be behold.
Palpatine perfectly orchestrated the galactic war of the republic vs the separatist, manipulated anakin (the supposed chosen one) to turn to his side, and managed to get nearly an entire galaxy on his side to create the empire.
The common phrase "catching lighting in a bottle" is often referred to single moment or act in time that has been captured, but in reference to palpatine, it is like that lightning is flowing across a clouded sky, the moment ever present, ever changing, and ever so magnificent.
"Like living lightning..."

Of course he called Palpatine living lightning. He was SHOCKED to meet him
