Well done to all the black people and people of colour who expressed what many of us experience and feel. As emotional as this was, it was much needed! Thank you guys!
Thank you 🙏 beautiful neccesary conversation opening all hearts and bringing to all introspection . I also feel this time has been brought to us to connect our hearts to one another and bring in a beautiful world God intended for us all to live in .🙏. God please bless all your children, bring in wisdom and open hearts 🙏❤️✨
Thank you for your open, honest, and empathetic discussion of this issue. Your willingness to share in such a raw, real way greatly blessed me and helped me to let the Lord shine His light into my heart.
So appreciated this much-needed conversation. It is so good seeing the First Nation people included in this crisis as it is much neglected in the U.S.A. God give us vision and direction in making changes.

As Australian Indigenous Christian Leaders we commend Pastors Brian & Bobbie and Hillsong Church for your support and commitment to address racism also black lives matters within our society and the church through an open conversation bless you
I think racism comes from thinking that one race is better than another and showing favoritism and being defensive of one's own race at the cost of discriminating and marginalizing the "Other." I have been subjected to this kind of racism and marginalisation in my own life, especially at church and at school, where people tend to opt for the sense of "We" and "Our." The difference about Jesus is that he defended the "Other" and he died for the "Other" and was criticised for doing that, just as Paul preached the Gospel to the "Other" and the Gentiles and was cornered by his own people for doing just that. It is not the goal of Christians to prosper "Our" own people but to preach the Gospel to the "Other" for the kingdom of God. Our time on earth is short but we have eternal life as a gift from God through Jesus Christ.
From Houston, Tx. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. I am a black woman who knows all too well the pain of racism. This is the first time in my life I have hope that things may begin to change. I pray we the church be 1. Honest conversation and open listening.
I am not black nor white. English is not my mother tongue therefore I have a very strong, funny to some people accent. I spent my parents live saving coming to Australia in hope to get better future. As immigrant, still I experience racism to this day.
Have always enjoyed Hillsong but shocked to say the very least at this highly unintelligent, fluffy discussion with very little context, perspective and clearly no background into the BLM movement. One utility of the far Left in recent years is to push progressive political agendas under the guise of compassion. BLM whilst on the surface seems compassionate and caring, it’s simply not. If HS are trying to put a different spin on the meaning of the slogan, then say so, explicitly. But to generalise and give blanket support for BLM, I believe is a big mistake. Too much here for text, however I would encourage any rational, thinking person to cast their net wider and investigate the matter including statistics on the issues at hand, the ideas of ‘systemic’ racism and individual racism, and to not simply run with the herd on the mainstream media narrative which is pervasive now within a large swathe of the church. I wholly disavow racism in any form, and on any level, but ironically by supporting a violent movement like BLM we are doing far more harm than good to the communities and lives of those the movement is purported to protect.
This isn’t about the organisation called BLM it’s about racial injustice. BLM have been actively fighting for racial equality for a while and that “brand” dominates the conversation but it’s not about BLM it’s about the reason BLM exists. Sadly BLM isn’t a Christian organisation but Hillsong is and we take our lead from the Word of God and NOT BLM. All we are doing is mourning with people who mourn and identifying with the collective pain and the moniker for the pain has been expressed in BLM. You seem to feel like BLM is at the centre of what going on but it’s not BLM, it’s Jesus! Don’t condemn the BLM people, empathise with them, value them, forgive them and share Jesus with them. If you think BLM are wicked, then let’s imitate Jesus’ attitude to the men who nailed him to the wood. He prayed for the Father to “forgive them, for they know not what they do.” If you think BLM people are your enemy them let’s follow Jesus’ advice and love our enemies and pray for them... GOD BLESS YOU
Ay Sal Jesus would not associate himself with an organisation that hates western civilisation like blm and antifa, any suggestion that he would comes from a religious spirit rather then love. Love does associate itself with hatred and destruction, religion does.
He that knows GOD will not be shifted/rattled. We are a spirit being and we possess a body. (Not the other way around) We are created in the image of God. (Spirit being) we are formed by the dirt of the earth. Whether it is white or black it is still dirt and temporary. That is why when you die the body (white or black) gets dumped back in the dirt. Understanding this concept is very powerful. People are only rattled because of lack of knowledge.
I respect the views of everyone here. I think though there should be more emphasis on compassion or impartiality as something that should be mutually received AND given by black people as well. While there are several black people who are hurt and discriminated against, there are those among them who themselves disciminate others too. I know of brown/Asian people who are petrified of black people because they are looked down upon and threatened by them. These experiences don't even get into any statistics or conversations because many are so scared to speak up given the value placed on black people. Racism happens to, and are committed by black people as well. I support 'black lives matter', however saying 'all lives matter' does not mean we don't empathise with marginalised black people, rather we have also been marginalised and have experienced discrimination just like the blacks. Reminds us of Jesus when he talked about the Jews and Samaritans. Let us not limit God with the experience of one man or group alone.

This was great, thank you- Lungile and Stephanie spoke the language of the people ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Has HS disavowed BLM yet? I’m surprised after all the recent events this hasn’t been taken down.
