"Interestingly, after collecting the star (Board Bowser's Sub), the water moves back to uncover the hole as normal, but it also opens two new doors. The first is locked behind a key with the message: "The keyhole looks like the basement keyhole, but the key doesn't fit!" whereas the second opens up to a room overlooking a massive aquarium. It's one of the most detailed rooms in the castle thus far, complete with a bench and a lone lamp. Mario can even sit on the bench which was a nice unexpected touch." "Jumping into the aquarium glass sends you into Course 16: Gleaming Glowing Abyss. Immediately, the name stirred up memories for me. My brother used to leave the game running on this level because he loved the music so much. Sure enough, the track is wonderful. It's a soft melody, much like Jolly Roger Bay, but it has a more... ethereal tone, for lack of a better word. It's mostly a piano track, though a drumbeat kicks in when you get into a certain section. I swear I remember my brother playing these notes before. Definitely one of the most relaxing tracks in the game - stark contrast from the last 'unused' course." "Despite the weird things so far, this level was shockingly normal. It took place inside the aquarium, as expected, and most of the level was underwater. Interestingly, however, there's a Koopa at the start of the level who gives you "scuba gear" if you talk to him. It functions like the gear in Super Mario Sunshine, in that weird bottle subarea." "The level resembles a small beach aside a coral reef and extensive underwater cavern system. There's not a lot of enemies, though we do get the return of another missing character: Bloopers! They work as you'd expect. There's also these weird glowing jellyfish, but they don't deal damage and just seem to float around as lightsources. Unagi also makes a return. This time, you have to race her, like a KTQ star. Even though I'm generally not a fan of water levels, this one was pretty alright. Helps that Roko didn't show up at all: I thought it might, since the sixth star lagged a bit before showing its name, but its name was normal. I'll finish up DDD and Fire Sea tomorrow. Will note you guys if there's any changes!"
On the topic of b3313, I could imagine this theme playing in indigo cave (an unused stage in 0.9). Otherwise, the aquarium stage from b3313, but expanded would be perfect with this music too.
oh my god i love this it's so relaxing and mysterious and i love the idea of it being in one of the aquariums genuinely on par with Waste's stuff, amazing work i could never make something this cool

This is incredible! Thank you so much for taking the time to write it! 😄
@Pellwers Always love to see SM64 Beta stuff. I might try composing something myself some day.

Funny, I had an idea similar to this for a potential remake of SM64 as an extended version of the Secret Aquarium
This would make for the coolest level
Thanks!
This feels so relaxing and beautiful thank you for this music
Thank you for the kind words, Alexander!
This would have won the cancelled 1995 writer contest
